If I were Doc, I\'d lock this the second I saw it. But then, I\'m not, am I? These topics usually have at least a page full of one-sided/biased/hypocritical posts and tend to both attract old and generate new belligerents. But then again, those are the only type of people who I actually find humorous on Message boards. Oh well.
Where do I stand?
Honestly, a majority of the new releases as of late have failed to grab my attention (late=past 4 years or so). I\'m the type of guy who rents that game that no one touches and digs through the discount bin. Sometimes you get crap, but other times you find true gems that no one knows about yet. (Stick with me. This has a point.)
Companies that usually make these games are small, and unwilling to take risks. So what do they do? They release their games on the most popular system to be safest. So that means I own the most popular system so I can play the least popular games. Yup, I\'ve got a PS2, and a whole host of games you\'ve never heard of to justify my purchase. Guilty Gear X2, anyone? Oh yeah. No more need for Street Fighter.
And that busted PS2s thing... I just don\'t understand. All my friends and I have had our PS2s since the first few baches of \'em were in circulation, and not a one of them has been fried yet. I wonder if people leave their system in standby, when the manual specifically tells you not to. That thing gets pretty hot sitting on standby for a few hours. Honestly though, I don\'t know what I\'m doing wrong that it\'s still alive, \'cause apparently it was never intended to actually work properly.
Microsoft, I refuse to give my money to. We all know what they\'ll be doing with it eventually. Buying their success. That\'s just Microsoft. I won\'t be a part of that, even if a few titles for the system interest me. GC is starting to interest me, though. We\'ll see...
