I have thought of a few things ever since I played the first KH. And to tell the truth, I writen a bit about a different dimension, still having to deal with KH but in this dimension, Sora was defeated at the End of the World and the keyholes reopened shortly after his failure. Since this has happened, there have been several new Keyblade Masters to rise to the challenges ahead of them, and have formed a \"faction\", if you will, to stand before the Heartless seige. Riku is nowhere to be found and the King has returned to his Kingdom, preparing for war. Ansem is at the cause for alarm, for he is still free and about, but slightly weakened.

The story begins a year after Sora\'s fall, in Traverse Town, which has been laid to waste by the years of battling, where our hero to be, Kija, has found himself in the battle for his life....

>>Prologue<<

The battle raged on with neither side gaining ground. With each defeat, three more took their place. The dark creatures seemed to have no end. Then I heard it. The unforgettable screech of-

\"Wyverns!\"

They came diving through the sky, screeching as hard as they could. Wyverns are brown creatures that have tattered wings, a decent size tail, and have claws used to destroy their enemies in anyway they please.

They are what we were waiting for.

\"All troops, deploy Aeroga shields!\" I could feel the air shimmer and shift around us. The spells were successfully being cast.

But not fast enough. The Wyverns swooped down on those who had not yet been able to cast their shields. They came down fast, picking some up, only to have them come flying back down, and use our own troops as stones and throw them into us, breaking our lines. Then, they started to lift up their own in the same manner. A soldier came up to me in a frantic rage.

\"Sir, what are they doing!?\"

\"I am not sure, but be on your guard!\" I had no idea myself, and was really frightened by this act, but I couldn\'t let him know this fact, he would be broken.

Then we saw them. The ones they had been picking up were Defenders. Defenders are about the same height of an average person, only if they don\'t stand straight up. They were of a multitude of purple shadings, and carried a huge shield. Their shield was big enough to cover their front side, but their shield wasn\'t used for defensive purposes only. No, they were used for offensive means also. Their shield\'s front resembled a big dog, always snapping, biting, and reaching to rip you to shreds. And they seemed to hurt, for the most part.

\"Hold the line! Don\'t let them pass!\" I had to do something, my part of the forces were being overpowered and began to waver, pushing us further from our objective. The Wyverns continued to fly higher in the sky, away from our line of sight, only to come crashing down on us, dropping the Defenders upon us.

\"Defenders have broken the lines! Mages, to the front! Target the Defenders!\" Our mages came to the front lines and throughout our units and began to counter the threat of the Defenders presence, helping our line to surge forward.

Even as our forces began to move forward, I could feel an uneasy presence come through the air.

The battle went at a steady pace, that is, until our mages began to be tapped out, and the shadows had their reinforcements to arrive.

They were the size of houses. They always seemed to be on all fours, which didn\'t matter, for their size made up for it. They had two claws on each \"foot\", their fangs devilish, along with their eyes. But nothing could compare to their horns. The pinnacle of their power.

\"Behemoths!! All forces, pull back! Retreat!\" We were beginning to lose.

Badly.

Then I noticed something...they were forcing us away form the Keyhole!. If they get to it, all of this would be for nothing! If they push us any further, we would be in the First District, of what’s left of it that is.

\"Troops, regroup around the Keyhole!\" \'I have to get to the Keyhole, no matter what!\' That was my only thought as I ran through my forces, passing all of my fellow comrades as I did.

\"Commander, where are you-\" I ran by my Captain and kept my pace toward the Keyhole.

\"I do not have time for idle chat!\" I had to say something.

Within moments of running, I had reached my destination. To my relief, we were still holding enough to have a moments rest.

\"It would appear that no harm has come to the Keyhole.\" I wheeled around to see who had spoken.

\"S-Sir Leon!\"

Leon was standing beside the Keyhole, Gunblade in hand. He is a relatively tall man, brown hair, wore a small black jacket with a white shirt underneath, and a pair of black pants that matched the jacket. He had a scar that reached from his right eye to the near-bottom of his left cheek, and around his neck hung the Lionheart medallion. He, of course, far surpassed me in rank.

\"Leon, sir! I came as fast as I could. We have to hold here.\"

\"Yes, I can see that.\" As we stood there, the shadows began to come closer.

\"Sir, the shadows are coming closer!\"

\"Yes, I can see that too. Not that it matters now...\"

I stared at Leon blankly. \"What do you mean \'Not that it matters now\'!?\'\'

\"We cannot accept our fate. We will all become shadows, one way or another...\"

\"Sir! Why are you saying this? This is not you...Sir... I will cut you down if I have to. I will not accept your non-sense and I will not accept you becoming a shadow!\"

Leon turned and glared at me directly in my eyes. I felt a fire boil up inside of him of him and start to pour into me. Then, he began to laugh hysterically.

\"Ha! That\'s what I wanted to hear! You will even cut down your superior to save the Light. Come now, Kija, let us show them the reason why Darkness will never conquer the Light!\" We ran toward the shadows, leading our forces toward everlasting Light.

Ok, I know I misspelled somewhere here. If not, yea! Hope you enjoy. I will post Chapter One after I finish it. ^_^!!

Kudos, Enix, that was highly entertaining. I really liked the battle, what with the vivid descriptions of the Defenders and all. I like the Heavy Body\'s meself. Seems like they\'d be fun to have in there... Or did you put them in and I missed it?:conf:

Anyways, pray continue. I wish I wasn\'t too lazy for fanfiction...

WOW, this is pretty good! Can you have Cloud come? Have you play FF 7-10? If so try to include ALL the main characters. like Vincent Valentine from FF7.

Here is Chapter One. I hope you enjoy.

>> Chapter One <<

--My name is Kija. I am the first Commander of the King\'s Special Forces. I have been on the front lines for only five months, but I have seen the worst of things, including seeing the death and conversion of my only brother. I have been entrusted with the protection of Traverse Town\'s Keyhole, and I have proven my worth time and time again.

I am often considered weak, due to me being shorter than most, but I have shown that being short can be an advantage as much as a disadvantage. I have dirty-blond hair, my physique, to my eyes, is smaller than it should be. I wear no helm, for it would hinder my eye-sight, my armor is a small silverish light plate with shoulder pads. I am the only one in my troop that wears leg-guards, only because that my height gives me a speed advantage. I have no Keyblade, but my sword has kept me from failure from time to time again, so I cannot complain.

The Heartless have never stopped at attacking Traverse Town, for its Keyhole is always in plain site. The town itself has been laid to waste by the constant raids of our foes. Our numbers have been constantly dropping in every battle, and we have yet to hear from the Keybladers. We fear that they have also been defeated.--

We ran into the field, with our hopes held high. We knew that the only thing that stood between the Keyhole and them was us and only us.

\"Leon, we must be careful! I have seen what they are capable of!\" I could not longer see Leon in the mass of Shadows. Everywhere I turned, I was being swarmed by them. The only thing that kept me going was having the ability to see the Keyhole from time to time, seeing that it was still there.

\"HA! You really think these are something to fear? You have grown soft, Kija!\" I knew not what he meant, but I dared not think at that time.

After only moments of fighting, I started to become winded. I feel unusually drained of my energy. I became slower, sluggish, and began to strike lightly. I looked around to see the cause, but I couldn\'t find any. All I could sense were Shadows, and the stench that they brought. Suddenly, I could feel the reason I became weak.

Darkside.

There he was, standing in front of the Keyhole. He was taller than the Behemoths, and that was something to fear. He was of the same color as the rest of the Shadows. He was a bit awkward in standing, for he seemed to bend forward toward his foes. His hands were often used to summon other Shadows, or as I have seen in the past, rip the hearts of his enemies away from their present body. He has a heart-shaped opening in the center of his body, which is ironic, for he has no heart.

\"Leon, Darkside! He is right at the Keyhole! I am going to try to get to him!\" I wasn\'t really sure if I was able to reach him in time, but I had to try. Jump, slash, and keep running. That was the pattern that I somehow kept as I was heading for the Keyhole. I kept running, running on fear, hope, and the desire to see morning.

But I was too slow. He was already pulling back his arm, steadying himself to strike. \"Never will you finish what you are trying to achieve, Darkside!\" He slowly turned and looked straight at me. Suddenly, he swung his arm at me, instead of the Keyhole. I felt the pain, as he cracked my armor and sent me flying into the wall. I looked up and thought that the pain made me imagine what I was seeing, for I would not believe it.

A Heartless. Standing in front of Darkside. With a Keyblade. No, not a Heartless, but a mixture of Human and Heartless. He wore a light armor that most of us wore, a silver light plate with shoulder pads, except that it had a light imprint of the King\'s seal on the front. He wore no helm, had a black shade of hair, with a pair of Heartless antenna peering from the middle. His eyes appeared to be the same as a normal Human, except that his eyes had a faint yellow glow to them.

\"I am sorry to do this, Darkside, but you shall not pass! By the order of the King, I shall close this world\'s core from the Heartless once and for all!\" He then turned and held out his Keyblade and a light appeared on the tip of the blade. The light then shot toward the Keyhole, and every one of us heard the sound that we had hoped for since we joined this fight. The click of the world being sealed from Darkness. Darkside then swung at the Keyblader in hopes of ending him, but stopped short. There was someone standing on top of his head, readying for the death blow. I heard a faint roar of our forces cheering this person on. I quickly tried to clear my vision a bit more to see who the person was, and I was surprised to see him here, helping us.

Cloud. I had not seen him since the Clocktower had fallen. He stood on Darkside\'s head, holding his sword for the blow. He caught a quick glance at the ground below, searching for something, and then struck. Darkside disappeared in a quick vapor and Cloud landed with a soft touch. I steadied myself and headed toward our forces, hoping for no interference on getting there.
\"Kija! Are you alright?\" My Captain came to me with a quickened pace and helped me into one of the tents.

\"Yes, I am alright. Have there been any casualties?\" I wasn\'t very concerned about myself at this time, only the members of my force.

\"No sir. There are no reports of casualties, but there are many that have been wounded, and will not be able to fight for the next few days. Here, let me help you out of your armor, it appears that it may need some repairs.\" It would seem that he was trying to make a joke, but I was in too much pain to notice. \"There. I will see if I can find a smith around. Oh, and before I go, Cloud wishes to have a word with you.\" I could only help but wonder what he would want to speak to me about. But amidst all my thinking, I never even saw my Captain leave.

A few minutes later, Cloud opened the tent and walked in, with the mysterious Keyblader right behind him. Cloud is tall compared to my size but might not be as tall as Leon. He wore a light black plate mail armor, but to everyone else, it would appear to be a shirt. He adorned a cape that, even with no wind, seemed to wave around vigorously. On his right hand, he wore a glove that had a gold-colored claw on each finger. He also had a pair of black pants that seemed to be well-worn. On his back, his sword rested. It was a large sword that was wrapped in a bandage, which we all figured symbolized something, but then again, none of us ever asked.

\"I see you have seen what our little friend here can do.\" Cloud spoke as if I knew him personally. The Keyblader just walked around the room, inspecting every little thing about it. \"Kija, he has been personally sent by the King himself.\"

The Keyblader walked up to me and sat down in the chair that was next to the bed. \"I would introduce myself to you, Kija, but I have no name. You can of course, call me Zee, though this is not my true name.\" He held out his hand toward me and I gladly accepted his handshake. \"I am being sent to the worlds that surround the Kingdom, closing their Keyholes. But I was also sent to Traverse Town for another reason.\" He looked at me with his yellow eyes, and I couldn\'t help but flinch a little inside. \"The King has sent me to recruit your services to aid me in this quest. Also, I was assigned to give you this, Kija.\" he held out his hand and handed me something that resembled a keychain.

As I held it, I felt a strange power weld up inside of me. Suddenly, the keychain began to change shape. It went from a small object to a weapon. I was holding one of the fabled weapons. The Keyblade. I looked at Zee. \"What does this mean?\"

He looked down at me and made a smile, or something that resembled a smile. \"You are now a Keyblade Master. Of course, that means that you have the ability not to accept it, if you so choose to.\"

\"Are you crazy? Of course I accept being a Keyblade Master.\"

Cloud bent down toward the bed and leaned in toward me. \"I have things to do right now, but I will be back in a while. I hope, by then, you shall be well rested, no?\" With that, he left us to be alone.

\"He seems to be a bit uptight, no?\" I could only laugh. Zee wasn\'t so bad, I figured. \"Well, I\'ll leave you to rest. I do hope you are feeling a bit better when he gets back, he does tend to a bit angry when things aren\'t up to his speed.\" Zee left the tent and closed it ever so slightly behind him. I couldn\'t think of reason why Cloud was wanting to talk to me. Slowly, my eyes began to close, and I accepted the sleep that soon followed.

Again, I will be done with the next Chapter as soon as I finish it. ^_^

Another chapter well done, though I have a few suggestions, explain why he has become a keyblade master, is it his valor in combat, or perhaps it is a mystery, do so in the next chapter if you were not planning to already.

Here is the next Chapter. I think I am going to rest a while, my fingers are starting to ache.:D

>> Chapter Two <<

After what it would seem an eternity, I was woken up. Painfully.

\"Hey, Kija, time to get up!\" After that, I felt a sharp pain appeared on the back of my head. \"You don\'t get up soon; you won\'t even be able to recall your name. So with my advice, I would get up!\" I rolled up and out of my bedding and fell on the floor, flat on my face.

\"Uhh, what is it?\" I looked up and saw Zee standing there with a thick piece of wood, ready to strike again.

\"We have to go. Cloud is getting pretty ticked. He is pacing about, mumbling something about \'skinning him alive\' or something to that effect. Anyway, your armor has been repaired and everything needed for his journey has been packed, so unless you want to end up like the Darkside last night, I suggest you get prepared and head out to the launch pad.\"

\"Yea, yea. I get it.\" I had no idea why I was so irritable that morning, but I just couldn\'t help it. Zee left and with him he took the piece of wood. I slowly got up and started to get my new clothes on. The armor, thankfully, was repaired as Zee had said.

I finally got ready and left the tent with a renewed vigor. My eyes, however, were not as fast to recover form the abrupt wakening. I had to squint half-way across the camp until my eyes fully adjusted. The camp was littered with tents and fires. I could hardly remember when our fighters were so joyous about winning a battle. I mean, granted Zee sealed the Keyhole, but there were celebrations everywhere throughout the camp. I really wanted to join them in the celebrations, but I figured if I waited any longer, Cloud would put me in the Medical bed for good.

When I got to the launch area, Cloud was pacing around the Gummi Ship, with Zee trying to calm him down. For a moment, I thought about just turning around and walking the other way. But I figured it would be better to go ahead and get it over with. I walked up to Cloud to tell him that I was up and ready to go, but as soon that I got even a foot forward, I was lashed out at.

\"What gives you the right to sleep half the day away like this? Just because you are a Keyblade Master, doesn\'t give you any special treatment from the rest of us! Now get on the ship before I rip you to shreds.\" Of course, knowing that he wasn\'t kidding, I quickly hurried on board. Cloud and Zee quickly followed suit. Moments later, we were lifting off the ground and into the air. I was already regretting not saying good-bye to everyone, especially my Captain.

After about an hour of flying toward our location, I mustered up the courage to talk again. \"Hey Zee, I was wondering. When you gave me the keychain, did you know that it would change into this Keyblade?\"

Zee looked at me awkwardly. \"Not really. The King just told me to give it to you. He said he had a good \'feeling\' about you. Have you two ever met?\"

\"Yes, but just once. It was shortly after graduating from training. He walked up to me, just like all the trainees after they graduate, and shook my hand. As he did, he looked up to me and said, ‘You will accomplish great things my friend.\' I never thought about it after that day, but now looking at his words, I now know what he meant by it.\"

\"Seems he knew that you had the Light within you, huh?\" Zee looked around the ship and sighed. \"You know, I don\'t even know where I originally came from.\"

\"You serious? How could you not know?\" I just stared at Zee blankly. \"And what do you mean by that?\"

\"Well, when you turn into a Heartless, you tend to forget the things that happened to you before hand. But luckily for me, before I was completely consumed by the darkness, a light appeared and cleared away the Darkness. I ran toward the light and I was in the King\'s court, holding a Keyblade. From there, I was ushered to the King and shortly after that, I arrived in Traverse Town.\"

\"Well, how does Cloud come into this equation?\" After saying that, Cloud leaned back in his chair, chuckling to himself.

\"I was assigned to protect Zee at all costs, and if the keychain the King gave him did in fact change into the Keyblade you hold now, which the King had no doubt it would, I was assigned to protect you as well. Of course, that is until you get the hang of this thing.\" Cloud grabbed my Keyblade before I was able to even notice what he was doing.

\"Hey! That\'s mine! You know, you could have just asked for it.\" Cloud hefted the Keyblade and appeared to study it a bit.

\"I never would have thought that such an awkward looking weapon would be the hopes and dreams of so many people.\" He threw the Keyblade back at me and chuckled. \"You better be a fast learner.\"

\"And why is that? And where are we going?\" I noticed that we were in a part of space I have never seen before.

\"Well, we are going to the make-shift planet called Raystream. It is the only planet that has yet to be infected with the Heartless \'problem\'. It is also the planet that all Keybladers go to receive training.\"

“‘Training’? And who, per chance, gives this \'training\'?\" I was really beginning to get scared about this whole deal.

\"Well, that is a surprise.\" Cloud sat right-up again in his seat and began to fly the ship. \"And when I mean surprise, I mean it.\"
--------------------------------------------

After about an hour of a long trip in a Gummi Ship that has little to no room for stretching, we finally landed on Raystream. This planet was truly beautiful. The sky was a light yellow color, somewhat resembling the same color of Zee\'s eyes. The ground was mostly sand, by it was not the same kind of sand that I was used to. It wasn\'t the traditional sand I usually found at the beach, but it was an off-color of gray. I bent down to pick some up, and when I did, I strangely felt renewed.

Cloud walked up to me and put his hand on my shoulder. \"In case you didn\'t know, the sand on this planet have healing properties. That\'s just in case someone wants to go crazy and not listen to their mentors. They can always pick up the sand and be healed. Of course, if the mentor decides to no allow them to heal, it can also be used to destroy. Just all on what the mentor thinks at the time a person picks it up.\" Cloud gave me a hard look, and I kind of figured that his remark was pointed toward me. \"Come on, I think it is time for you to find out who mentor is.\" I was getting the hint that I would no longer be under his wing for long, so I figured to take the scenery all in.

The walkway to the court yard was very well placed. The stones, which made the walkway, were placed in a way to where there were no ways of tripping, unless you were very clumsy. The stones, if you had not looked at them, were the exact same color as the sand, which helped it blend really well. The walkway led up to a grand archway that appeared to be the entrance to a huge courtyard. The archway itself was of a gold-like color, whereas the courtyard was just like the King\'s. It was an exact replica, down to the last grass blade. I felt as though as if I belonged here.

\"Hey Kija, you just going to stand here or are you going to get a move on?\" I popped back into reality and hurried after Zee.

\"So where are we going now, Cloud?\" He seemed not to notice anything happening around him, so I figured I\'d try again. \"Hey, Cloud, you there?\"

\"Yes, but I figured you would give up after the first one. We are going to meet your mentor, if you would so kindly pay attention every once and a while, you would know this already.\"

\"Ok, ok. Sheesh.\" We finally came to a big door, which had no handle, nor knocker. \"Well how in the world are we to get in?\"

Cloud looked at me. \"We don\'t, you do. Just hold your Keyblade up to the door, and it will open.\" I looked at the door and wondered how it did that. \"Well, hurry up. We don’t have all day.\"

\"Well why you aren’t guys coming with me?\"

\"Well, for starters, only Keyblade wielder can open and go through the door. Secondly, only the one that opened it can go in. So... you are on your own here on out. I might see you guys later. Then again, I may not.\" Cloud turned around and began to walk away. \"See you later, guys.\"

\"Bye, Cloud.\"

\"Hopefully we will see you later, Cloud.\" I really felt a sense of abandonment when he left, but maybe it was for the better. \"Maybe I ought to get on with the door, huh?\"

\"Yea, that would probably be the best thing to do. And don\'t feel bad, I have to go through training, too.\"

\"Well, good luck to you I guess.\" I walked over to the door and hefted my Keyblade toward the door, and suddenly, the door began to creak open. A bright light began to flow from the door. I walked toward the light and looked back. I was no longer in the courtyard. I was in a large white room with a few torches here and there. There appeared to be no one in the room, so I decided to to step forward.

\'You shall not take another step, young warrior.\'

I jumped back at the sound of the voice. It was very demanding, yet very familiar. \"Who is there?\"

\'That of right now, is none of your business. Now, step into the next room\' I figured not to make an ominous voice mad so I went ahead and walked into the other room. As I did, the door shut behind me. The room was a bit old looking with the stone walls and everything. There in the middle of the room was a small table with a chair. And someone was already sitting in the chair.

\"Welcome, Kija, to your training room. I hope you are prepared for a hard and rigorous training for it will not be a walk in the park.\"

I got a good hard look at the man sitting in the chair, and felt my heart jump from seeing his face. The face we were all trained to be ready for, in case we were ever to face him.

Riku.

Here is Chapter 3. I found it in the oddest place, but never mind that. Enjoy. >_<

>>Chapter 3<<

There he was, Riku, in all of his Darkness. He was sitting in a chair half way in the room with his legs crossed, staring at me. He had a pale white type of hair; he wore a yellow top with a pair of purple pants over a black pair. He had a pair of black gloves on, which to me, looked as if they were a few sizes too small.

Riku looked at me with a disconcerting eye. \"Well... it is nice to meet you, Kija.\"

I looked at him, paralyzed. \"How do you know my name?\"

\"I am you mentor, I know much about you. But now is not the time for this. You are late and need to begin your lessons immediately.\'\' He got up from his chair, pushed it aside, and came toward me. I felt as if I should have readied myself, but I couldn\'t move. I just stood there, waiting to get it all over with. \"You know,\" Riku commented, \"I was kind of hoping to be Zee\'s mentor, but I guess you will do.\"

\"What do you mean by that?\" I could see what he was trying to do. And it was working. \"I don\'t know who you think you are, but you are not my mentor.\" I was already reaching for my Keyblade.

\"Ha, you think you will be able to hit me, let alone get your weapon at the ready? Well,\" He went into a defensive pose, “Let us see how good you are with the Keyblade, and then I shall tell you if you are even worth looking at, let alone training.\"

That did it. I ran toward him with the fastest speed I could attain at such a short distance and swung my blade. I missed. He rolled around me and kicked me squarely in my back. I fell down hard, but instantly got back up and ran toward him again. I decided to push him toward the wall. Each swing, he seemed to get faster, more agile. But I couldn\'t let that stop me. After what it seemed an eternity of swinging, dodging and rolling, we finally got to the wall. As I swung, I put more of a forward motion into it, propelling me up and over Riku, toward the wall. I flipped myself so that my feet landed on the wall, giving me the option to push my feet forward and jump off the wall, aiming for Riku\'s exposed back. And unfortunately, Riku spun around at the same time, dodged my thrust, and kicked me down toward the floor, causing me to lose my grip on the Keyblade. I lay there, panting furiously. Riku walked up to me and picked up the Keyblade.

\"You know, I used to have one of these.\" He handed my Keyblade back to me. \"Of course, we all know how that ended.\" He walked back to his chair, adjusted the seat, and sat down. \"Get up, you are embarrassing. Besides, you got to get ready for the Newcomers\' Banquet. Your room is over there.\" He pointed to a room adjacent of him. \"Now hurry up before I get angry with you.\" With that said he got up and left the room, leaving me panting on the room\'s floor.

After a few minutes of trying to catch my breath, I rose from my position and headed toward the room that Riku indicated as \'mine\'. I walked through the archway and headed across a dim, narrow hallway. I reached a doorway and eased it open. I walked into the room and sighed. It was just an ordinary room. In one corner, there was a small wooden desk, a chair, and a simple light. In another corner, there was a bed, all nicely set and clean. I sat down on the bed and noticed a large, brown chest near the end of the bed. I reached over and opened it, noticing all of my clothing and what-not was set in the chest with care. I rummaged through the chest and pulled out a pair of clean clothes and readied myself for the banquet.

An hour later, I was sitting with Zee in the Grand Hall. The hall was fairly large, containing three rows of tables, with ten chairs on each side. At one end of the hall were a set of huge double-doors which led out to the courtyard and out of the facilities borders. At the other end of the hall, there was a single table parallel the other three, which all the mentors sat. One of the mentors stood up and began to address the entire room.

\"Welcome Keyblade Masters, to Raystream, the world that will teach you to be stronger, faster, and hopefully, not rely on luck in battle, only your skills. The mentors, your fellow peers and myself are here to teach you more than what you already know about the Keyblade, and will sharpen your skills so that you stay in the Light. So before I get ahead of myself, enjoy the banquet!\" There was a bit of cheering and laughter afterwards, but I mostly ignored it.

The ceremony lasted for nearly an hour, with each of us gorging ourselves in the food laid out before us, telling tales of ours adventures and trying to see who was tougher than each other. I wanted no part of it. Shortly after getting my fill, I exited the hall and went back to my room. I passed by a few other Keybladers, waved and greeted them, but continued to my room.

As I opened my door, I heard a faint whisper in the hallway. I slowly closed my door and looked around. I heard the whisper again, but this time, it seemed to be closer. I moved cautiously down the hallway, listening for the whisper again.

\'Help....me...\' I heard it as clear as a bell. I kept looking around for any indication of where the whisper was coming from, but I came up empty. Finally I decided to give up when a flash of light came from under my door. I ran to my door and quickly swung it open.

Nothing. My light blew, but that was about it. I quickly changed the bulb and changed. I sat down on my bed and sighed heavily. I thought about how my forces were doing on Traverse Town. Hopefully, the Heartless have quit trying to overcome them and my forces have had time to recuperate properly. As I was thinking, there was a knock at my door. I instantly snapped out of my thoughts and went to open the door. Zee was standing on the other side. I ushered him in and sat down on the bed, while he pulled up my desk chair and sat down. Of course, he started off the conversation.

\"So, have you heard?\"

I stared at him blankly. \"Heard what?\"

\"One of the mentors is Riku.\"

I half-way chuckled. \"Yea... he is also my mentor.\"

\"Are you serious?\" If I wasn\'t already half-asleep, I could have sworn that Zee\'s eye sized doubled.

\"Yea, but I wish I wasn\'t. In a way, I am glad that I was the one to get him, and no one else, but on the other hand, I wish I hadn\'t.\" Zee didn\'t seem to understand my logic, so I figured I should explain myself further. \"You see, with me having Riku, I don\'t have to worry about having anyone else being tempted to Darkness, Light forbid that ever should happen.\"

\"Well, I can see your point, but do you know if he is still with the Darkness?\"

\"Well...no. I have no proof of this, but I am just saying, if it ever did come down to him actually being with Darkness still, I am glad that I am the one that would have to endure it and no one else. I know my limits and strengths, but I do not know the others so well.\"

\"Yea, I get what you are saying. Oh, I came here to tell you something.\" Zee leaned in and came closer to my face. \"There is a rumor going around that Sora has actually survived...\"

\"How is that?! We all know he failed and is gone! How is it that he has survived?\" I didn\'t mean to blurt it out, but my curiosity seemed to have been getting the best of me.

\"How am I supposed to know? Besides, it is only a rumor. Well, I guess that we should be getting ready for tomorrow.\"

\"Why? What is going on tomorrow?\"

\"Eh, they are going to test our skills in battle tomorrow, to see what we know, and to figure out what our mentors have to work with and where to improve our fighting styles.\" At that moment, all I could think of was the quick fight Riku and I had. \"Well, see you tomorrow. I hope you do as well as I do.\" He gave a slight smirk and left the room, closing the door behind him. I sat there wondering if the rumor of Sora was true. Had he really survived the fight against Ansem? Or is this just a rumor to throw us off so the mentors and make fun at us for having our minds somewhere else? I decided to put it off and laid myself down. Little did I know, that tomorrow would be one of the worst days of my life...

I have finally finished this extremely long Chapter. Enjoy.

>>Chapter 4<<

It was the day of the big test. Not a hand-written test or anything so meager like what was in the Academy...no, this was a test of our stamina, skills, and quick thinking. We were being graded on our fighting skills, how we address certain situations, and what weaknesses our opponent may or may not have. All in all, it was just like being on another battlefield.

\"All Keybladers stand here and wait for instructions.\" One of the mentors had already called us to be at the ready, and I had barely got to the battlefield as it was. I was unfortunately running a bit on the late side, and when I got to the field, they were already lined up and ready to begin the test.

There were quite a few Keybladers on the field, Zee near the left-hand side of them, and me being ushered to the right-hand side. There were a few people that I had seen at the banquet, but some I had never seen before. One in particular was a big, husky guy. He stood about six foot, roughly, brown-hair, with a few muscular details to him. He wore a dark-green shirt with a light-blue scale armor on him. His legs were covered by a black pair of pants with shin-guards. He looked pretty ridiculous to me, but I decided not to mess with him, he might actually hurt me.

\"Now, all Keybladers with a blue shirt on, side step into this circle.\" With a wave of the man\'s hand, half of us were now wearing a blue shirt, Zee and I included. We side stepped into the circle that also magically appeared, but I kept it to myself, for not knowing where it came from might possibly be of the better. \"Now, all Keybladers with a red shirt on,\" the man again waved his hand, and the rest of the Keybladers that were standing outside of the circle now wore a red shirt, \'\'step into this circle. From here on in, Master Riku will give you the instructions needed to proceed in this testing.\" The man turned and proceeded to his seat, where Riku was calmly rising and heading toward the middle of the field. I felt an uneasiness come about me, just like the feeling that occurred on the battlefield no more than five days ago.

Riku reached the middle of the field and spoke with a calm, but yet demanding voice. \"Ok, all members of Blue are in opposition of members of Red. Each team member will elect a Captain to represent their team and stand outside the circle. The rest of the team will then be paired up against the other team, in one-on-one matches. The winner of that match will then be rewarded one point toward their team total. In case of a TIE,\" Riku raised his voice a bit startling some of the members of each team, hushing their voices, \"the team leaders will then be put against each other to decide the winning team. Does everyone agree with these rules?\" There was a collection of agreeing and shouting. \"Good, now, if everyone would stand in a line over here, then we can pair each of you up, and we can get to the fun.\" Everyone hurried into the line as was instructed. The uneasy feeling came over me again.

As we were being paired off, I noticed that I would be the one to fight the big husky guy, as I intentionally feared. We were moved over to a small circle way from the other members of our teams. A few of our team had won their challenges, but at the same time, a few of us had also lost. It came down to having me win this match or all our hopes rested on Zee, our elected team leader.

\"Ok, both of you shake hands.\" We walked up to each other and shook my opponent’s respective hand. \"Now, each of you back to the outer ring of the circle. When I give the signal, each of you is to enter the circle, and then engage each other.\" Riku walked and stood outside the circle and raised his arm. My heart began to quicken and I felt a bit nervous. \'Just like being on a battlefield, a battlefield...\' I kept repeating this to myself, making sure I didn\'t lose my nerve. Just then, Riku dropped his arm and I rushed into the ring. My opponent did the same. We each went head-to-head at the start, each of us thrusting our Keyblades at each other, blocking, parrying, rolling and counter-attacking each other for what would seem like hours. Each of our teams were cheering us on, hoping that the cheer would give us an advantage over the other. For me, it seemed to help, but for him, he looked nearly tapped out of his energy. He began to strike at a disconcerting speed, which made it all the easier to dodge them. Each minute, we seemed never have been gaining ground, but I seemed to keep up with everything that he seemed to do. It was as if he was making me do these things to his liking. But I noticed something during our little \"performance\"; the boy had a glimmer of a strange color. Then I began to smell something very familiar....

Darkness. I could feel it enveloping both the boy and me. It began to swirl and form a barrier. I could hear the other Keybladers screaming and becoming frightened. The mentors that were standing outside the barrier were trying everything they could to open the shielding, but all of their doings ended in failure.

\"Heh heh. Now I have you all to myself, Kija.\" I spun around at the boy, who to my horror, was no longer the tall, husky Keyblader, no... He had been transformed into Ansem. He stood, no, he was floated before me. He wore a white and black overcoat, which the white was nearly the same as his hair. He wore white gloves over most of the black of his coat, his hair curved into a triangle point at the top, and had dark, piercing yellow eyes. He just floated there, laughing. \"You know, I am glad that these mentors on this pathetic world are incredibly arrogant. Thinking that they can spot an imposter a mile away. Hah! I have been here for nearly two months, and nothing has even given them the slightest thought that I was a fake, along with this Keyblade.\" He threw the Keyblade off to the side and it disappeared in an instant. He turned and looked at me once again. \"But then again, having such arrogance around such a specimen may leave residue.\" He began to come toward me.

\"You will not get any farther, Ansem! I have been entrusted with the safety of all things under the Light, and I will not let you continue this campaign for Darkness. I will give my life to stop you!\" I readied myself in a fighting stance, but feeling the fatigue come rushing to me, I instantly fell to one knee.

\"Ha ha. Do you not know why I made you fight me to begin with? It was all so that I could make you my host that much easier.\" He continued to move toward me, but I didn\'t let up on his glare.

\"I don\'t care. But know this, I will never be your slave for Darkness. I have seen what happens to those that waver from the Light and slip into the Darkness. I will not let you continue...\" The energy needed to even put up the slightest fight flew from my body. I fell to both knees.

\"Hmm. You still fight... Good! That means that you are infact the best choice around. Now, you will become my slave, like it or not! Now, open your heart to the Darkness, Kija!!\" He was directly in front of me. I could feel the icy grip of Darkness come around me... twisting and forming over me... draining me of the Light I once held near and dear... no... Not like this...

I suddenly fell backward, unconscious of my surroundings, hoping that it would all end...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -

\"Hey...Kija... hope you can hear me... Don\'t give up... We are all here, rooting for you... just hang... on....\" I can hear that voice... Sounds so warm and inviting, yet so familiar... I have to find that voice...

Then I felt a familiar feeling. The feeling of someone hitting me with a thick piece of wood.

\"OW! What did you have to do that for? I could-\" Before I could finish my sentence, I saw several Keybladers standing in front of my bed... in my room... \"What is going on here?\"

Zee was sitting beside me, already putting his piece of wood away. \"Well, we saw that Ansem had enveloped you in Darkness and all of us began to grow worried.\"

\"How did I get here?\" I was lying on my bed fully clothed in the armor in which I was in during the match. \"How long have I been here?\"

Zee laughed. \"Ha ha, nearly three days now. We had no idea how to get you to wake up, so I figured...\"

\"Yeah, that\'s where I come into this. But why do you continue to hit me with that piece of wood? It is beginning to hurt.\"

\"Oh, well, I\'ll remember to hit you in another part of the head next time.\" Zee and I laughed a bit.

\"Wait, you still haven\'t answered my first question. How did I get here?\" I was beginning to be frightened that this was all a dream.

\"Well... Riku saved you.\"

I was dumb-struck. \"Riku? Well how did he manage to do that? I saw all the other mentors still struggling to get inside, let alone save me.\"

Just then, Riku walked into the room. All the other Keybladers bowed and rose again. I would have, but being in the bed and all...

\"I would like it if all the Keybladers would return to their respective rooms now.\" There was a collection of groaning, but no one out-right objected. One by one, they left the room. \"Zee, you can stay if you wish.\"

\"Nah, I think I\'ll go. I believe I had just as much fun as Kija over these past three days, and I think I deserve a bit of \'unhindered\' sleep.\" He left the room, yawning as he went. I felt slightly tired, but I didn\'t know why. I mean, I had been sleeping for nearly three days...

\"I do hope that you are feeling a bit better, Kija. I was worried that you wouldn\'t make it out of the Darkness.\" He pulled up the chair that Zee was previously sitting in and sat him down.

\"What happened out there? After I feel unconscious, I mean?\"

\"Well, I guess I could tell you. When I saw you limp to one side, I knew that you had lost all grip on reality, so I had to find a way in the barrier. I used what little Dark powers I had dormant in me and passed over between the barrier. Ansem seen this happen, and went straight after me in a rage. I rolled to one side, and struck at him. I only hit him once and I had seen what he really was. A mere copy. He was instantly defeated and disappeared. I went to you, and carried you to your room. I tried freeing you from the dark holding that was put around you, but it proved to be stronger than I could handle. I had to let you fight it. Or, let Zee hit you with his \'trusty\' wood block about ten times.\"

\"Ten times! Why did you make him hit me so much?\"

\"Well, it helped you get up alot sooner in the past, so I figured...\"

The conversation went on for nearly three hours, which I believe helped our mentor-student relationship alot more. After nearly two months of training, Zee and I had risen to the top of our class and had graduated with honors.

\"So, how does it feel to be a true Keyblader, Kija?\"

\"Great. But now that we are \'Official\' Keybladers, we get to leave this place. And I for one am up for going back to Traverse Town for a bit of rest and relaxation.\"

\"I am up for that suggestion.\" Riku came bounding down the stairway after us. \"Let\'s go!\"

\"Wait, where do you think you are going, Riku?\" Zee looked a bit confused.

\"With you guys...duh....\"

\"Why is that?\" I was feeling a bit cramped in this conversation.

\"Well, my mission was to follow everywhere you go, even after your training was finished. King\'s orders.\" He held up a sheet of a manuscript and I read it hastily. I looked at Zee.

\"Yeah, orders from the King...\'\' I handed back the paper to Riku.

Riku looked at me and Zee with a smile on his face. \"Well let\'s get going guys! I call shotgun!\"

I couldn\'t believe this was happening... \"Well guys... it is off to Traverse Town we go!\"

I hope the ones that are still reading this (Points to three people in the front row.) enjoy the stroy, and I will continue with Chapter 5 soon.

>>Chapter 5<<

The trip was very long and very boring. Not the boring that you have nothing to do boring, no, the boring to where you feel like poking yourself to see if you can even become that bored. Riku somehow became the Captain of our Gummi Ship, but I really shouldn\'t complain, considering I got to relax the whole time to Traverse Town.

\"Hey Kija.\"

I looked up and stared at Zee. \"Yea? Something wrong?\"

\"No, just wanting to know something.\" He got out of his seat and walked over to me. \"I was just thinking, we have heard of Sora in the last few days, right?\"

\"Yes...\" I beginning to not like where this conversation was going.

\"Well, I have been thinking. Sora has been to several Worlds, has he not? Well, I was thinking, if he has indeed come back, does that mean that he will appear where he was defeated? I mean, when Sora was turned into a Heartless, he was forced to stay in the World that he was defeated. But Kairi brought him back, through the power of her heart. So that makes me think about two things. First, if Sora was turned into a Heartless, how will we know if it is him? And second, if the power of someone\'s heart is strong enough to bring someone back, does that mean if I found someone that loved me enough, would I turn back into my old self?\"

\"You know, I really don\'t know if that is what would happen. For Sora, I wouldn\'t be surprised if he was still around somewhere, but being at the End of the World, that means he could be anywhere. As for your plight, I would hope to think so. I mean, Kairi and Sora were pretty close, so if there is someone in your previous life that loved you that much, I could say you would be able to be who you were.\"

Zee looked at me with, what I would guess, a smile. \"Thanks man, that helps me a bit.\"

\"Hey guys, heads up.\" Riku got our attention as quickly as he needed it. Because at that moment, there were heartless attacking our Ship. \"Hold on guys, I\'ll try to shake them off.\" He quickly began to descend into Traverse Town, while the Heartless where hammering us.

Zee was thrown from his seat after three blasts. He sprawled across the floor, got up, and quickly headed toward his chair again. \"What are these things?\"

I looked up and tryed to get a good look at our assailants. But as hard as I tryed, getting a clear view was just entirely out of the question. We were being forced downward into the planet, faster than our little ship could handle. We were dropping at an excellerated rate and our ship was being tore apart from all angles.

I stumbled over Zee and head for the control panel. \"Riku, how much longer will the ship last?\"

\"Five, six minutes, tops!\" Not enough time... I had to get this thing under control, otherwise, we would have to bail out. During my train of thought, we were hit again. This time, it breached our hull and we were now spinning out of control.

\"Come on guys! We have to get out of this thing!\" We all headed for the escape pods. Zee got in first and detached from the ship, with Riku right after him. I quickly got into mine and closed the door. Suddenly, before I could release my pod away from the ship, I noticed a Moogle appear in the ship. I looked at him and began to open my door to let it enter, but the door wouldn\'t open. It was beginning to detach itself with the safety protocol. I struggled to open the door, but to no avail. I watched as the ship began to crash into the planet as a sickening speed, and I got to catch a glimpse at the attackers.

They were not of any Heartless I have ever known, nor were they Gummi-based Heartless. They appeared to be a form of energy, but still retained the taint of the Heartless. I could feel their evil as they continued to attack the ship, with the Moogle still inside. I pounded on the screen, screaming about, hoping to divert their attention toward me, hopefully, for the Moogle to be safe, but they continued to attack the ship with an unrelentless force.

After falling for minutes, the ship finally exploded. I crinched at the site of it, knowing that the Moogle... No. I could think like this. I had to find a way to reach the planet safely. I looked around at the panel infront of me and tryed to figure out the buttons. Of course, if I hit the wrong button, it would most likely be bad. I decided not to mess with anything and let the pod take me to the planet. I sat there, drifting when gravity finally grabbed my pod and brought me downward to the planet. I started to drift asleep.

\'Kija... I have been waiting...\' I sat straight up and looked around. Nothing was there.

\"What is going on here?\" I looked at the control panel, and the readings were going off the scales. \"Oh this cannot be good.\"

The pod started to shake violently and the vibrations were beginning to make me feel a bit sick. I looked out the side window of the pod and seen that I was going to crash land into the planet.

-Please be seated. Pod will make impact the planet in 5...4...3...2...1...-

On one, I lost conciousness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

\"Is he still alive? Kupo.\"

\"I don\'t know. What is it that he is holding? Kupo.\"

I felt so uneasy. I started to get up, but I had no energy left.

\"He moved. Kupo. Maybe he is alive. Hurry, let us go.\"

I looked up and seen a Moogle...

\"Moogles!?\" I shot up, and then I fell right back down. The pain seemed to be over whelming me. \"What are Moogles...\"

\"No, let us stay, kupo. Maybe he can help us...\" One of the Moogles moved over to me and healed me with some kind of nut.

\"KUPO! That was our last one! What are we going to do now!? Kupo!\" the other Moogle came over and pouted infront of the other Moogle. During this time, however, I decided to get up again, but this time, I felt no pain. I sat up right, with my legs crossed and was mesmerized by the pom-pom on the Moogle\'s head, so I took the liberty of trying to touch it. But the other Moogle seen me trying to do this and smacked my hand.

\"Kupo! Don\'t mess with Mal\'s pom. That is not friendly.\" The Moogle stepped back a bit and hopped on a rock. \"I am Kri and this is Mal. We are the Moogle Guardians of this shrine. We found you and brought you here, kupo.\"

Kri was slightly taller than that of Mal. His pom-pom was a darker tint of red and he seemed to be the leader of the two. Mal wore a pink ribbon on her head, while her pom-pom nearly resembled the same color as the ribbon.

The shrine looked pretty run down, with the vines rapidly growing and what not. It was a stone altar with a small blue stone in the center. The detail in the stone was amazing. I got up and moved over to the altar to get a better look.

\"This altar, do you know when it was made?\" I asked Kri. I moved my hand over the stone. It was neither warm, nor cold. It felt... perfect. The design in the stone mostly told a story, but it was hard to tell, for some of the inscriptions were worn or broken off.

\"We do not know when it was made, kupo, but we have been here for nearly twenty years. This place is like our home, kupo. We have tried everything to protect it, and in return, it has protected us.\" Kri moved over to Mal and held the Moogle\'s hand. \"We have lived happilly here, but we are growing old, kupo, and wish to have a place that will not be trampled over but other things.\"

I got up to my feet and brushed myself off. \"Well, can you tell me what world I am on? If you do, I can probably help you find this home you are looking for.\" I smiled slightly, in hopes that they would help me.

\"Of course, kupo. This is Twilight Town, but we are on the forested part of it.\" Kri answered. Mal made a motion to the sky and Kri nodded. \"It would seem that something is coming. We do wish to leave now, if we could...\" Kri sounded scared.

\"No problem.\" I said. \"Just let me take this stone at least. It may help you get into your home better. You know, as a sweet reminder of your time here.\"

\"That is a great idea, kupo!\" Kri moved over to the stone and pulled it out, then he handed it to me. \"You keep it for now, for it would be too heavy for us to carry.\" Kri moved back over to Mal, and held her hand. \"So, shall we get going?\" Kri seemed anxious.

\"Yes, lets.\" We left the altar, but I made a mental note to return here later for examining the altar. The forest was very thick, I had to use my Keyblade to cut through the more dense areas to even see where we were going. The trees were enormous. I doubt that anyone could guess the size of these things, but then again, some people would do it just to spite me.

We continued through the forest and finally came to a town. It was pretty big, compared to Traverse Town, but then again, it wasn\'t half destroyed neither. The buildings were fairly new, or to me they were. They shone with an odd color of yellow, and were pretty modern.

\"We have made it, kupo! This is Twilight Town!\" Kri was briming to the rim with energy as he hurried into the town, with Mal right behind him. I took my time heading into the town, for I have never seen this place before, and I wasn\'t about to take any chances. The town was pretty much deserted, and that made me feel uncomfortable. I never liked anything too quiet. I had reached the central square of the town and nearly exploded with anger.

\"Mwahaha. Hand over your stone little thing, or you shall meet your fate as the other did.\" A man in armor stood over Mal with a grimicing look. I looked in the direction that Mal was and I nearly started to cry.

Kri was dead.

\"How could you? We have nothing, kupo!\" Mal seemed to be pleading with the man, but he of course, wasn\'t listening.

\"How could I? Why, like this!\" The man reared back his hand and swung his sword down at Mal. I wasn\'t going to let him finish it. I charged at him and blocked the blow right before he connected, leaving him bewildered.

\"Heh. You are not so tough now that you are fighting someone of greater skill, are you?\" I meant for it to sting, for it to sink in and make him angry. I wanted him to lose control, for when he did that, I was already the winner. \"Come on, let me see what you have!\"
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>

Yea, I know. \"About time!\" But hey, it takes a whileto think of these things. XD
