Chapter one The beginnings of a hero

It was a cold January night in 2007 when it all happened. You may be wondering who I am or what I’m talking about, but that is for later anyways on with the story.

It all started happily. Our hero Kai was simply outside getting some exercise with his friend Jet.
“I bet I can jump across those cliffs,” Jet said pointing up towards the mountains above them. “I bet you could too,” said Kai happily.

Now you see Kai and Jet lived in an area full of scenic mountains. Now you may wonder where they lived so I’ll tell you they lived in an area of Taheron. Now Taheron was a small island discovered in about 2006 which is when both Jet’s family and Kai’s family immigrated there.

Our Heroes had just made it to the top of the two mountains when Kai saw his rival Takeshi up on top.

“I’m glad you could make it all the way up here I wondered if you would ever even climb this,” said Takeshi

“…You think you Are so good and all, but the fact is you won’t be able to jump across this gap without falling unlike me,” said Takeshi in a rude manner.
Takeshi then jumped across the seven foot gap and landed with ease.

“Grrrr Takeshi!” Kai said.

Kai then jumped the gap himself and landed with just as much ease as Kai did. Jet then tried this and ended up hanging from the cliff edge. Kai then rushed over and grabbed for Jet’s hand.
“I can’t hold on any more,” said Jet with strain in his voice. “Hold on,” Kai said as he pulled Jet up.
Takeshi then left, but not before saying, “Amateur you can’t even jump that.”

Back down in the log cabins by the mountains they lived in it was just about time to eat.
Just as they got home Kai’s mother said, “Kai where have you been!?”

Kai could tell his mom was not happy with him.

“I called you for dinner fifteen minutes ago!” said Kai’s mom with much anger. “We were up on the mountains, mom, Jet and I wanted to go up there,” said Kai hoping his mom wouldn’t yell anymore. “Get in here for dinner young man!” said Kai’s mom trying to keep her cool in front of Jet. “See you tomorrow Jet ,” said Kai. “Bye Kai,” said Jet waving.

After dinner Kai as usual said his prayers and went to bed. Little did he know the next few days would change the rest of his life.
