I’m amazed that I got so much positive feedback for my picture of Grey Malkin (the name of the character for those who care). I’m really honored.
As I said before, I’ll do my best NOT to place anymore character designs here on the site-- I have over 80 characters that I plan to use in my stories, each with different character designs and profiles, and I know that will take up too much space if I uploaded all of those here (See how much I care about you, Cossack? :P). Besides, I’m sure most people would rather see a completed picture, with a background/foreground and subjects that actually do something. I will definitely show more Astrolian art at a later date.
Cossack: Your right, I didn’t use much color on Grey, though it is kinda hard to give color to a cat that\'s is a Chartreux (her breed/race). Do you think I should experiment with color more? o.o As for my stories, the majority of it is still under development. However I can give you a small excerpt (it’s about a page long) as well as a story line for an episode, if you want. Though it’s not a true novel from beginning to end, at least you will have an idea of some things that will take place and become familiar with my writing style.
Sol-Badguy: Don’t worry, I have a few ideas that I plan to work on. I won\'t stop my work on Astrolia anytime soon.
Toki: You like the shading as it is? After I looked at it on the site, I kinda felt that I should have done more (especially in her dress, her legs, and tail). Perhaps I’m going for a bit too much realism for an anime/cartoon-like character. *shrugs*
Dr. Chaos: I’m glad to hear you like cats-- I’m sure it’s pretty obvious that I do, too. I remember how each of my cats would cheer me up during my depression by simply spending time with me. Perhaps that is the reason why I chose to write stories with cat-people instead of any other animals.
Rinoman: I’ve done dog people when I was a young girl, but I stopped doing them because they didn\'t look right to me. Does that count for anything?
Breakman: A good number of my drawings are in sketch books, and I currently have one of those form-feed multifunctionals, where you have to “feed” a sheet of paper into the tray to make a copy or a scan (I hope that’s what they are called). I’m getting kinda tired of ripping pages out of my books (a few picture were ruined that way), so I plan to get a flatbed scanner within the next two weeks (if I’m lucky, it’ll be this weekend). That’s probably when you will see another picture.
Sea Monkey: I’m really glad you like it, Sea Monkey. I was debating if I should have placed her in something… more revealing to show how I’ve designed their bodies, but I felt in the case of young Grey, it was best to keep her in a simple dress (though to me, the dress doesn’t make her legs look quite right).
HJ: I actually do have characters with interesting hair: one has semi wild, spiky long brown hair with black and white highlights (I tried to make it look like a lion\'s mane), and another with a huge, wavy metallic-purple Afro (I guess that\'s the best way to describe it). Now I want to compare those two with “Chocolat” of the Eto Rangers. *must visit Google.com to seek these Eto Rangers*
Keiji: Nyanko-chan, eh? I must remember that, though I’m sure I’ll mispronounce it, heh. *writes the word down* And thank you for those kind words of yours. I appreciate them.
*begins to smile* Is it safe to assume that you think Grey looks mature, or womanly? Which if I continue to jump the gun here, I guess that means you think I look mature, or womanly, too!
(At this point, I should let everyone know that I am the live model for all of my female characters.
Sorry for putting words in your mouth, Keiji. Oh, and speaking of models, I want to ask something: Do you happen know of a place where I can find pictures of males that I could use as a model for my characters? I do have both females and males in these stories, but I tend to shy away from males because I can never get them to look right (I’m having too much trouble with designing their bodies). I originally was going to use my younger brother as my model, but he kinda let himself go.
(Seriously, I really shouldn’t say that :P). I suppose I’m trying to be cheap by avoiding to purchase some expensive art books, but if I don’t find a male model soon, I guess that’s what I will have to do (I don’t want my work to suffer because if my inexperience of drawing men)…
To everyone concerned about my missing Avatar: I unset it. As Keiji mentioned, my current mood does explain the disappearance of my avatar. I’ve been in a rut for a very long while, and I just noticed this recently! So, to get my life back on track, I plan to make some changes. I think of my avatar as an extension of who I am and what I want to represent, and so I decided that it needed a change as well. If I’m not too lazy with drawing, I’ll begin to showcase more Astrolian art through my avatar. I hope no one has a problem with this (If so, I’ll use a different picture of Cyber Peacock instead of the normal sprite I\'ve been using since I\'ve been here).
Sorry for the long post-- I know, I talk too much! *phew!*
