I just got back from seeing it myself. I\'m not really into Star Wars but a friend of mine really wanted to see it. I won\'t go into details for spoilers, but I have to say I did not feel that it delivered really. While I guess it was the best of the prequel trilogy, in all, I have to say I really did not like the prequel trilogy. They just seem like over glorified action sci-fi flicks with very little substance.

Oh well. To those that have seen it, what were your thoughts?

Caught the midnight showing with my fiance. Hayden slightly improved with his acting, but I can\'t tell with voices. Just with the movements.

I\'d say that it was an enjoyable movie and much better than the first two. (Perhaps because it\'s much darker with so many deaths and how they died.)

I\'d have liked the first two movies if Qui-Gon Jinn would have actually lived past the first one. >< That guy was awesome...

As for Revenge of the Sith, I plan to see it tomorrow.

I have seen it and it is actually one of my favourite Star Wars films. Even including the old ones!

I didn\'t really like eps I and II, but III was cool! It really links the two parts of the saga together. However, I don\'t think it should have been a 12A. It should have been a 12. Just because of the A part, adults were bringing little kids to see it (5 and under) and I don\'t think it would be appropriate for that age group. There are lots of dark parts and the burning alive...is just not what toddlers want to see.

I didn\'t find it that scary, but it was probably one of the best directed and moving films that I have ever seen. It really makes you feel sorry for Anakin, and that\'s a sign of good acters and a good directer.

Personally, I cannot wait to see it. I have high hopes, although it will be rather hard for it to beat out Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi IMO

I think, personally, that this is the best movie to come to theaters since the third Lord of the Rings movie. I agree that Episodes one and two left something to be desired, although, when not compared to the original trilogy, they\'re decent in their own right. I still say that StarWars is the sci-fi of all sci-fi\'s, and this movie definately did not disappoint. I will agree that Anakin\'s actor needs lessons, though. I really don\'t like him... then again, I don\'t like Anakin, either XD Am I the only person who wonders what Padme saw in him? XD

Episode 3 was good, but not as great as many people say it is. Sure, it\'s the best prequel out of the bunch, but it felt so rushed. Most of the hyped up characters (Grevious) did nothing but die. Anakin changed to the dark side way too quickly and his eyes kept changing colors <<;

Bottom line: Lucas should\'ve started the Jedi hunting/Clone Wars in ep 2 (not at the end of the movie like he did)

It\'s a physical sign of intense darkside corruption; the yellow eyes. It\'s a story element. Also, there\'s a lot of \"hyped\" stuff that was played out more in backstories, like the Clone Wars mini-series. That, and Anakin turning to the darkside, which, again, was actually a long time in the making... meh, only a book-buff like me would probably know this stuff, anyway.

Loved it... probably the best movie I\'ve seen.... I\'m more of a Dark Side fan...

Not sure if this is a spoiler or not, probably is, but meh.

I REALLY wanted Anikan to win the Jedi fight against Obi Won. I felt sorry for him when his legs got chopped off... I also wished that he lived in the 6th one...

Too fast? Is two movies not enough time for you? Remember, it started in Episode II.

I\'m probably never going to see it. I saw the first movie when I was little, I hated it so much. All the boys at school talk about the movie all the time! The only people on there are Yoda and R2D2.

At the end of Episode 2, that doesn\'t count as two episodes...more like 1,01 episode. If Lucas really wanted to make ep 3 more interesting, he should\'ve started the whole Jedi hunt in ep 2. Because he didn\'t do that, 99,9% of the Jedis died in less than 3 minutes. Only Mace Windu managed to last longer.

I felt really bad about Mace Windu... :(

I was wondering about one thing...
Spoiler (click to toggle)
At the end, he asks about Padme. The emporer says she died. Then he goes, \"NOOOOO!!!!!\" but doesn\'t actually turn on the emperor, even though the main reason he joined the Dark Side was to save her life.
I eventually just set it aside. I guess maybe it\'s becuase he wouldn\'t really have anywhere to go at this point if he turned.

And I\'m actually really glad Obi-Wan beat Anakin. He was asking for it, at that point... plus, any more evil-over-good, and I would have thrown something across the theater.

The great democrecy of the Republic had to turn into the Evil Empire. How can you have any happy endings for it? It\'s not called \"Revenge of the Sith\" without reason.

Who said anything about a happy ending? :conf: I said I was ready for it, and I said Ep III delivered it. Tragedy aside, it was a very good movie... all I was saying was
1. The part at the end bugged me a little
and
2. I\'m glad they didn\'t make it a complete triumph-of-evil, no matter how dark the movie was. It simply wouldn\'t have felt like a Star Wars movie if the good guys didn\'t win, or at least (as in this case) have a hope.

Anikin\'s mind was twisted and corrupted by the Dark Side. Hence why he tried to kill Padme. He wouldn\'t listen to Obi Wan, even though it almost ended in his own death. \"You\'ve turned (Padme) against me!\"

\"I didn\'t need to. You did that yourself\".

One thing that came across to me in the film is how gullable Anakin is.

Spoiler (click to toggle)
Palpatine drains all of his own energy into Windu\'s lightsabre, prematurely aging him seconds. He then looks fatigued and says words to the power of \"Can\'t...keep...going\" (not exactly. I don\'t have that good a memory). Anakin believes him and destroys Windu\'s lightsabre. Palpatine then kills Windu and zapps him out the window. How could anyone in reality be so gullable?

I agree with Necro. The movie was better than I and II but wasn\'t spectacular. I got bored with the long, drawn out Anakin/Obi-Wan. The whole film felt like it was just trying to cash in on the \"darker\" trend that\'s all the rage these days.

The movie also left me with a question. Why are there no Wookie Jedi? I want to see one with a light saber. That would be awesome.

Read the books that take place after Return of the Jedi.

In the Jedi Academy series, when Luke restarts the Jedi Order, one of the students is Chewbacca\'s Nephew.

I saw it about a week ago, At 12:00 at some forgotten mall....There was no line at all.

I must say. this was one of the better ones, It\'s in my top 3, ranking 3rd from Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi.
I have a few simple observations.

A: Whats with everyones hands being chopped?

B: I think I saw the Millenium Falcon at the Dock bay at the Jedi Temple, anyone else?

If you don\'t have hands, you can\'t fight.

But yeah I liked the film. It fills in the storyline gaps.

Why didn\'t Mace just finish Sidious?

And

Why didn\'t Obi-Wan just kill Anakin when he had the chance. I mean, you wouldn\'t leave a friend in that pain, would you?

And it is like so easy to have film where the good side is almost completely crushed, but keep it happy and unmoving. Honestly, if you can\'t say something worth saying, why say anything at all? What\'s the point in having \"A New Hope\" if the \"goodies\" were crushed in the Epesode before it? or are you just one of these unreasonable people who love to make it so the directer and writer can\'t possibly win? It was actually planned in the story almost thirty years ago, so why you call it \"all the rage, now\" is beyond me.

Because He made a big performance about it and gave Anakin enough time to make a decision and kill him, also, the black guy always dies in these movies
