I don\'t know how this started, but my step sister mentioned a cocnut and said it was a fruit. But I don\'t think it\'s a fruit. It can\'t be. Does anyone have any idea what it is? I think it\'s a legume (nut).

I\'m pretty sure it\'s a fruit.
Fruits have seeds, Coconuts have milk...
VEGGI!!
Actually...
\"coconut - noun - The fruit of the coconut palm, consisting of a fibrous husk surrounding a large seed.\"
That answer the question?

Yes. Coconut is a seed. That is all.

If I knew where the coconut\'s seeds were, I could tell you.
..but well, if it\'s a seed in itself, then it\'s a seed.
I thought the excerpt inferred that the Coconut was a fruit, made up of a husk surrounding a seed, instead of the Coconut itselef being a seed. Perhaps I\'m mistaken.
When a coconut is brown..like the ones seen at the market usually, then it\'s a seed. Supermarket coconuts are mature coconut seeds.
Coconut fruits are green, with the (undeveloped) seed inside full of coconut milk.
So...a coconut is both things, somewhat. Starts as a fruit, but what we usually eat from it is the mature seed. And we don\'t eat the whole thing, just the meat inside the seed (and milk).
At least, that\'s what I just read.
I think it is a fruit. o.O Just a guess.
