I discovered about that game today while i was looking through the old webpages. What happened, it looked good.

I canned the project. I just couldn\'t find enough time to try to program something of that level. I would have also needed to learn many new programming concepts to be able to code a full Mega Man game, and I just wasn\'t feeling like doing all that work anymore...

What was that other guy doing? Mega man Paradise? You could associate his game (after beta testing for bugs and permission) for content. Just a thought.
I have that game maker, but I never got around to it yet. I was thinking of making a Megaman Remix game.

I\'ve seen that MMParadise game, but it hasn\'t been finshed. I\'ve have a game maker but its too complecated to use and i can\'t stand C++, to make a simple MM game would need alot of C++.....

I believe game maker goes by GHTML or something on that order.

Click and Create and Gamesfactory, it\'s quick, its easy, and you\'ve got choice.
Quite alot of people stick to the basic movements on that, but if you know how (like mwa) you can do practically anything 2d on there.
(Or 3d, apparantly someone figured out how to make mode7 )
If your low on time, and still want to make a good Megaman game, I really do recommend it. I\'d like to do C++, but don\'t have the time, so I\'ll continue using CNC for a while. ;D
For more info, you could goto:

Besides, most other game making things won\'t work on my comp. :madgo:

[Edited on 3-11-2002 by Sea Monkey] [/quote]Mixahman is his name, hes still developing the game, i think its nearly finished. I\'ve learnt how to make megaman platform games and i\'ve learned a lot more stuff to make it more complex. Right now i\'m delveloping a game which is like super smash brothers/fighting, once i\'ve finished it i\'ll post it in.

I didn\'t expect this to happen.
Yer i found your site very useful, learnt a lot of new stuff from it. Game maker is probaly the best 2D game maker to get but its very hard to use, after a while you\'ll understand it but you\'d need to be a C++ genius to get the game exactly right and what you want in it.
It doesn\'t use C++. It has it\'s own program language called \"GML\" similar to the Pascal language or you could also use it\'s drag n drop icons where you can just add to a object & type in or select a action you want the \"event\" to use. The difference with GM & GF is that you create the game from the ground up instead of using the pre-created objects & just adding the sprites. With GM you could manipulated the game anyway you want.
All you really need is to understand how games work. After that, you\'ll be getting the hang of it.

Having a directory of all Mega Man fan games made is something that I wanted to do a while back, but I just haven\'t found the time to ever start on that. Darn schedule.
The name \"Megaman Paradise\" sounds vaguely familiar... Perhaps I\'ve tried it before, but I don\'t remember any of it.
A game poster is a neat way to advertise your fan game, if you make it at different sizes. For example, you could make it into a link icon, or a banner.

Another easy thing to use if you wanted to make games you could use something called Blitz Basic.
http://www.blitzbasic.com/
You can download the shareware version there. Its a nice language that mixes C++ and Basic. For tutorials with Blitz2d you can head over to http://www.blitzcoder.com/ I first started with that for graphical programming, but then I moved onto C++ and Allegro. Allegro is not hard to learn especially after you\'ve messed with Blitz Basic.

Ive tried many \"game creators\" that require no actual programming, but i find them too restrictive and have poor file type support. As Flash.man suggested blitz basic, I would like to point out Dark Basic, a full 3d integrated language. Dark basic is BASIC with directx built in and all the 3d commands are simplifyed. Its good for beginners, or professiona programmers that want to impress beginners. The website is full of games that a novice would want to try to make, but would EASY fail if they did not do TONS of tutorials. Overall, its good to make demos or to do a full game in to see how it would be before making it in a lower level language such as c++. THat other game maker sounds much like the games factory, but similar to visual basic. ill look at it later. as for the comment about mode 7 in the games factory, i would REALLY like to see that. I already know how to do a myst style game in gf, but that would be cool. post that here. many people could benefit. My reccomendation for learning to program:
(this is what im currently following)
1.The Games Factory
2. Dark Basic
3. Visual Basic 6 (buy books on general game programming in vb)
4. Visual C++ 6 (Buy lots of books on genre speciffic game programming)
Im currently at step 3.
i like 2 use mmf y do u use gm it is so stupid i cant figure out the darg and drop thing
