Topic: Sega fires the Sonic Adventure voice actors

Well, I must admit that this caught me off-guard.

Starting with Shadow the Hedgehog (the upcoming game), Sega will use the voices from the Sonic X actors instead of the already-available persons from the Sonic Adventure (and sequels) games. They claim to be doing this for consistency between the various Sonic products available. It\'s a strange twist of fate, since the existing voice actors initially offered 4Kids to relocate to New York in order to provide voices when the Sonic X dubbing started, but they were turned down. Of course, this forces the obligatory question: are you happy or not with this change? On my side, I\'m not sure: I like some of the characters from Sonic X more, while others from the Sonic Adventure games are fitting well. I\'m all for consistency, though, yet they could have had that in the first place. This has the advantage of filling in Dr. Robotnik\'s place (the actor from the games died earlier this year).

I really liked Robotnik\'s old voice. That was sad...

Um... I guess I\'m fine. I can\'t think of any Sonic X voices I absolutely hate, it wasn\'t bad for 4 Kids anyway. I\'m more concerned with the gameplay: if that\'s fine, I don\'t really care what the voices sound like.

At least they\'ll be a different voice actor for Amy. GOD, She was annoying, especially in multiplayer.

On the other hand, your new option is no better. If we\'re getting Sonic X voice actors, that means the same reused, rehashed, heard-em-a-million-times voice actors that we hear for just about every other actor. I guess I don\'t care particularly for the old ones, although they were good, but the new ones will probably be pretty bland.

Wow...I liked Shadow\'s voice. I\'m really disappointed in Sega <<; Hopefully, they\'ll keep the japanese voices for the next game like they did for Adventure 2 Battle.

Atleast they won\'t be as bad as Heros. God....those were horrid. Exspecially Tails...

It\'s kinda obvious that they changed Tails\' voice actor between the Sonic Adventure games and Sonic Heroes, eh? His \"new\" voice bugs me a lot, too. It\'s just annoying to listen to. At least, it won\'t have lasted long!

aaaaahhhhhhhhhh

the original voices were good (except that kiddy voice from Tails in Heroes) but now they change it with the !american! Sonic X voices and i\'ve never heard those. but one things for sure. the voices can\'t suck more then those from the Dutch version, most of those aren\'t good if you ask me

Yes, then include the fact that most Dutch people (some, like me and Ray, not included) have HORRIBLE accents. But I agree, nothing can be worse than Sonic Herioc Tails...

I really liked the shadow voice I just cant believe they said \"Get out and dont let door hit ya on the way out.\" Shadow was just always cool and calm witch made his voice cool. We should get the head of Sega to see this maybe he\'ll change his mind and bring them back.

It\'s kind of good that they did that so the voices of the show can go more with the games.Besides people were tired of the dumb voice overs from the other games especially from heroes.

Yeah, but Shadow was awesome in that one! I hated Amy, Sonic, Knuckles and especially Tails in it, but Shadow was the one! HE WAS THE ONE!!!

I thought that the voices were actually bearable in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle...except Tail\'s voice. But he\'s worse in the Sonic X cartoon if you ask me. Heck, the only voice I liked in Sonic X was Knuckles\'.
