Ultimate Spider-Man was an absolute blast to play, however, it was unfortunately abit short I felt. The game features the most stylish method for storytelling I have ever seen in a game based off a comic book. I\'d have preferred if the game was based on the original Spider-Man Universe(mmmm with say a story like the first twelve issues of Marvel Knights Spider-Man - now that would rock) instead of taking place in the Ultimate universe, but oh well. You take what you get, ya?
Playing as Venom was actually fun too, I thought. I enjoyed being Spider-Man more, but it was fun playing as Venom. Oh, if only I could play the story again without having to redo everything..
Overall, I\'ve never had as much fun with a Spider-Man game was I did with Ultimate Spider-Man.
Oh, and the game has absolutely nothing to do with the MTV animated show. It\'s based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, which isn\'t exactly the same thing.

Playing as Venom will probably be cool. It was in both Marvel vs. Capcoms anyways. Yeah, I would have prefered other characters though. Like maybe the Shocker. Or who\'s that guy with the dome on his head? Electro? Anyways, he\'s my favorite. I really look forward to renting the game if the movie place from Hades decides to stock it (Movie Gallery of Kingstree).
Venom was made playable because he is hands down the most popular villain to ever come out of Spider-Man. While he\'s not actually Spider-Man\'s best enemy, he is the most recognized and most popular. For example, Venom\'s the only Spider-Man villain who was popular enough to have his own comics. From a business perspective, playing as Venom makes alot of sense.
Long time members of this board might be able to guess who I\'d prefer to play as if I was able to play as a villain, but honestly, I don\'t think there\'s a single Spider-Man villain that wouldn\'t be fun to play as if done right. Though some of the villains would be more humourous than anything.

I do think they should have stayed away from the comic book style though, because alot of people, including myself, can\'t choke down when something halfway cool is cartoonerized. It\'s like... turning the Terminator into a cartoon and setting him loose upon the smurf villiage, which mind you would be AWESOME, but too different to handle nonetheless.
How ignorant. The comparison is absolutely horrible. Terminator was originally a movie, so it\'s natural that the franchise has a more realistic look when branching out into other mediums. Spider-Man was originally a comic and is a comic before it is anything else. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the franchise staying true to it\'s roots when entering other mediums.
People need to stop bitching about the presentation of things. I really can\'t see why people care so much about something so superficial.

Not to mention they MANGLED Venom\'s appearance in the game.
Untrue. Venom\'s appearance in the game is actually quite faithful to how Mark Bagley drew him in Ultimate Spider-Man.
