I got a request some time back that I should run a TF2 server. It's not super complicated, and I have the hardware to dedicate for it. I could have one configured for straight gameplay and few annoyances, like annoying gameplay rules and messages. On the other hand, it wouldn't be a big focus of mine (I don't play often anyway), and there are already tons of servers out there.
BOOM!! That was the sound of Sony dropping this bombshell.

I'm really, really hoping for a PC port. It says "Play it first on Playstation 4", so it could very well be a timed exclusive with other versions to follow, and Square has been good with its PC ports lately.
Of course, they do this the one year that I might make it to Platinum status. I'm a mere 70 points away, and nothing being released starting today will provide any points. Meh. I got some neat rewards in the past, too.
I'll have to see if there's any game I wanted to grab before it all ends.
I don't play Monster Hunter, I don't know much about Monster Hunter, but I know that some people love Monster Hunter.
Well! Nintendo just sent me a code for the demo of 4 Ultimate! It has quests! And stuff! The first person with a 3DS to ask for the download code wins it!
NewSkyrim Mods I want mods for Skyrim. Suggest some! Started by WindRider739 on 30 November 2014 at 2:24
I'm looking for really cool, long-term (not novelty) mods, especially ones that add immersion. Suggest some fun ones here! I'll add ones that I really like, and I have a few to hunt down yet. Bare in mind that some of these will be NSFW, and a warning will be attached to those.
Better Followers - This mod fixes weird things, like people defaulting to 2h swords when they use 1h axes better, or simply using the armor with the highest armor rating as opposed to what properly suits ...
Being a Kickstarter backer of Mighty No. 9, I received a free download code for Mighty Gunvolt. I already purchased Azure Striker Gunvolt, which already comes with the former game, so I have no use for the code... and so I'm giving it away!
For those who don't know, Mighty Gunvolt is a small, 8-bit-style game for the 3DS designed by IntiCreates. It plays as a crossover between Mighty No. 9, Azure Striker Gunvolt and Gal-Gun, picking and remixing some elements from all 3 games. I ...
The Wii U's release is 66 days ahead, on November 18th, at least in the US. I've listened to Nintendo's presentation today (audio only), and we now know all the main information: the date, the prices, the two different models, the main features, and the games expected to be available in the release window (before the end of March 2013).
Now, the problem: I'm utterly not excited. For the first new hardware generation since the GameBoy Advance, I'm considering stayi ...
It was originally going to be free on the 18th but they pushed it back a couple days. This is a download-today-keep-forever deal so make sure you pick it up.
Been some complaints from my Halo clan about paying for this upcoming Xbox One game collection. Seeing as it is all four Halo games with remastered complete maps, I don't see a problem. btw - There were 2 more games in the Halo universe, ODST and Halo Reach, but no Masterchief and were not well received by the Halo purists.
I am looking forward to both the campaigns and the online gaming.
Xbox One did a pretty good job offering this game. My only complaint is the lack of a campaign. I often prefer to play alone and against relatively unskilled AI. I am not the most adept player and online, multiplayer sometimes humbles and demoralizes me!
So recently Overkill, the developers of Payday 2, decided they would take a bunch of their planned paid dlc and make it all FREE. There's a catch, of course.

Basically, every milestone they hit in regards to the number of people in their steam group, they'll release a piece of dlc. Everything that isn't unlocked by mid-October we'll eventually have to pay for, so naturally our goal is to knock everything out before then. Al ...

WELL OKAY THEN. Let me share what I’ve been busy with the last few days.
I recently pointed out that I played (and enjoyed) the VN Katawa Shoujo in a previous thread. As a result, I browse the threads on 4chan’s /vg/ board. Over there, I go by the alias “Capslock” and encourage people to draw daily. One night, someone posted this image on the board.
-Expect a nonlinear, open world
-The video above was rendered in-game, and isn't a pre-rendered CG
-The character in the video doesn't seem to have a sword
-The character in the video isn't sporting the iconic tunic
-I've been saying "the character in the video" and not "Link"
Is anyone here familiar with multiplayer, turn-based games that can be played non-simultaneously?
By that, I mean games where the 2+ players involved don't need to be online at the same time. An old example is play-by-mail chess: two players would mail their moves to each other, slowly progressing as each person makes a move then sends the results to the other. I'm sure there are some e-mail-based options to do the same nowadays.
I've spent the last couple of days talking with Doc a good amount of this, PC version coming out in just under two weeks and I'm pretty excited to sink my teeth into it. Any console players have any opinions/ anyone else excited for the PC release?
Can't say I'm surprised about this: 'Iga' is leaving Konami after spending his entire career there.
He was the team lead on all Castlevania games from Symphony of the Night up to Order of Ecclesia, with a few notable exceptions, after which Konami decided to hand over control of the franchise to another group. It's no secret that I don't like the current direction of the series and completely gave up on it, so I'm entirely fine with his departure from t ...
Nintendo has officially announced that they're terminating the Wi-Fi service for Wii and DS games on May 20th. You can see the list of games affected here.
I didn't play a whole lot of DS games online, due to the fact that the thing couldn't even handle WAP encryption and thus prevented me from using many routers. Still, I had a lot of fun playing matches in Tetris DS online, even managing to beat some cheaters by playing better than them... :) On the Wii, Mario Kart handl ...
So, who's playing this? In case you don't know, Starbound is a procedurally generated 2D sandbox sci-fi game, with tons of planets and sectors to explore, generated locations to visit, and lots of items to discover. (And Doc, there's crafting and building too, like Minecraft.)
I've been hyped for this game for a long time, and out of sheer luck, a generous person gave me their beta key. I'm loving it so far - it's the unlimited kind of adventure I've ...
