Started by Administrator on 6 October 2008 at 9:39
Larry Coppotelli, who first contributed FanArt a few years ago, has come back again with three new pictures. These showcase characters from his upcoming fan-game, called Mega Man 10, that he recently renamed from Mega Man 9 because of the latest Capcom release. All this art can be viewed on his dedicated gallery.

UPDATE: The pictures have been replaced with larger ones to help you appreciate the details.

Wily Wars savestates update
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 26 October 2008 at 13:18
ACE_Spark was nice enough to send in a brand-new set of savestates to be used with the game Mega Man: The Wily Wars or it's Japanese version, Rockman Megaworld. These saves put you before the beginning of the Wily Tower minigame, which allows you to see it's introduction. You can also select to begin with either 0 or 99 Energy Tanks, depending on which file you use.

This download replaced the older one in the Downloads section.

Rockboard translation updated
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 2 January 2009 at 2:43
In order to celebrate the first anniversary of the Rockboard translation's release, I've updated the patch based on your feedback. The new version 1.1 adds a few lines of previously untranslated text, improves the text of a few misleading lines, and fixes a minor dialog bug.

This new version, still available in both "Mega Man" and "Rockman" flavors, is available for download right away. Happy gaming, and happy new year!

Truth Corner update
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 15 January 2009 at 9:39
The Truth Corner has been expanded with a few changes, most of these being related to Mega Man 9. The entry "Mega Man 9" now includes a complete explanation of the position of that game versus the older Mega Man & Bass. A new addition, "Does a Mega Man 9 NES ROM exists?" explains that no, you can't hope to play the game on an actual NES system.

Other changes and corrections are spread out through the section.

Wily Wars SRAM patch
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 9 February 2009 at 9:24
As those of you who've tried the game over the years might know, the ROM version of Mega Man: the Wily Wars doesn't save properly. You'll access the save menu, your changes will be seen there, but once you reset the game... your progress will be lost! This is because the game uses a less-common method of saving which few emulators support. That's why we have to rely on savestates to gain access to the Wily Tower bonus mode available once you beat Mega Man 1 to 3.

Mega Man X8 music available
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 22 March 2009 at 13:46
Here's a small treat for you!

I'm often contacted by people who want to see more files added to the music section, so I've decided to put in something new: the complete Mega Man X8 soundtrack!

It's complete with it's 57 tracks, with the exclusion of the music used during the videos (including the opening). I ripped it from the PC version of the game, and tagged it manually. As such, the names and order of the tracks don't match with the official OST. It ...

600,000 hits... kind of
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 20 April 2009 at 8:43
Sometime during last weekend, the hit counter reached the 600,000 visitors mark. This might seem impressive... but it's not accurate anymore. The site already passed the million mark quite some time ago!

With the rise of efficient search engines such as Google, more and more people visit a website without ever viewing it's front page. The end effect is that displaying a hit counter on what is meant to be the front page no longer tracks accurately the visitors. I now rely on the ...

News on more PC games
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 27 April 2009 at 10:02
This latest update to the list of PC games adds two new titles to the list: the arcade games Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters! Both games are available on GameTap, as part of their members-only service. They are rendered through emulation (under license and fully legal), accessed directly from your web browser. I tried them personally, and the end result is enjoyable. Please note, however, that this removes the two-player option: you can't be assisted in you ...

As the website approaches it's ninth anniversary, I'm happy to announce something that hasn't been seen for a few years: a full-scale oekaki drawing contest!

Unlike the mini-contest formula that has been used a few times already, this is a much larger event, with nothing held back: judging, larger drawing area, prizes for the top three winners, and more!

A theme has been selected for this latest contest: crossover. This can be taken in any way you can think of, including ...

New Battle Network / Star Force game announced
Update by Dr. Cossack
Started by Administrator on 22 June 2009 at 1:25
Relayed through axl z on the message board and the Mega Man Network comes the surprising announcement of a new game: a Battle Network and Star Force crossover titled Rockman.EXE: Operate Shooting Star!

Few details are known for the time being, although we'll probably learn more in the coming weeks and months. Most people, myself included, believed that the Battle Network series was officially ended, but it looks like side-games such as this one might still show up in the future.

Rest assured that I'm still working hard on upcoming features for the website: this might be summer, but I'm not in the middle of a vacation!

New section: Rockboard information

During all the work done to complete the translation of the NES game Rockboard in English, I've learned quite a bit about the game and how it is meant to be played. I decided to regroup this knowledge and create a new Rockboard information page in order to share it with everyone.

This section, a work-in-progress, currently consists of a single page. You can find some general information on the game, the list of characters, a description of the levels available, and a full review. Lat ...

Everyone can register and create a file listing their games and IDs. Then, when they want to play with someone, all they need to do is to give them the link to their file to find t ...

The SuperAdventure Rockman information page has been completely looked over and rewritten. Being one of the oldest sections of this site, it's grammar level was much lower than most other pages. This new version, while not having much in the way of new content, should be easier to understand. The review format has also being changed to match the one used in the Rockboard information page.
