I've got a few minor updates for you tonight, not all of them being related to each other but all worth a mention!
9-9 Events Nights
Considering that many of the current event areas (Lost Woods and Horsemen domains) are more easily handled when you can keep your inventory after death, we'll handle Events Nights a bit differently. These will now run from 9pm Saturday to 9pm Sunday, Eastern time, giving you a full 24 hours to play in the areas and access the teleporters network ...
Some of you have said recently that we were overdue for another building contest. As luck would have it, I've been gearing up for one, and it's now time to get started!
This time, we're building BRIDGES! I've reserved a large area over water, where everyone will be free to show their skills in allowing people to cross from one side to the other!
Rules
The contest area has several pillars and platforms already in place. Your goal is to link two platforms, in a N ...
As you know, 1.14 presented some unexpected challenges, especially when it came to plugin compatibility and server stability. After some efforts, I've assembled something that I believe should be stable, and it's ready for widespread testing!
For this, I'm bringing back our 1.13 test world, Tasmantis. You can access it from the lobby using the latest Minecraft version, 1.14.3. All the features that you're used to are in. Due to incompatibilities between game versions, ...

It's that time again, Horsemen event release!
This time, there's not one specific area releasing- we're releasing across all 4 existing Horsemen areas! Three new areas have appeared within Wychwood, Snowhead, and Shattered Sands- while 6 new areas have appeared within the Shoals of the Departed. We won't give ...
Due to a recent revelation we've found testing with 1.14.3, we'll need to close all science areas down immediately after the new version hits for updating. We're currently estimating approximately a month to have everything back up and running, and we'll announce step-by-step as each area gets back in running order again.
This includes:
The Creeper Citadel, Combat Training, Moosemart, Requiem, Nyx, Overlook Hotel, The Lost Woods, The Dragon Priests, The Hunter's ...
Lots of building happened, and bridges appeared from thin air! Or stayed as thin air, in one case... 12 participants entered the competition, then three judges went around to give them a score from one to ten: MineshaftBob, SorathePumpking and myself. Without further delay, our top three winners:
First place: Anonymous_SoFar
Second place: axe_y
Third place: MediaKlepto
They earned 50, 30 and 15 Merit Points respectively, while all other participants got one. Congratulations to all! Y ...
All game servers have been updated to Minecraft 1.14.3! Update the version in your launcher, and you're set to join us! If you need a reminder on how to change game versions in the newest edition of the launcher, here's a quick visual guide.
There are a few things to note related to this update, please be sure to read on.
- As announced before, all science areas are now offline. They'll be brought back one by one, after extensive work is done to adapts commands to the ne ...
With a new month comes a new challenge! Due to the large amount of new players this month, I'm keeping things to the basics with a fairly straightforward UHC map. This time, a lovely oceanic island in a warm climate is your setting.
For those of you not familiar with our local flavor of UHC, the challenge comes in a special world with its own inventory, accessible straight from the lobby. The difficulty is set to hard and PvP is enabled, so you need to stay on your toes! You can expl ...
Quite a few of our new visitors have been asking "pvp?" the moment they join the network. At the same time, many of our current players like to play PvP, but don't want to deal with the inconveniences of travel and item drops. As a solution to all this, we're introducing our newest minigame: PvP!
Sora and I have prepared a new play mode, accessible within the lobby under the "Games" category. In there, MountainB0y's giant arena is accessible at all times, to registered play ...
To help new players get used to how we do things on the Creeper's Lab, I'm launching tonight a new tutorial for them! This is a new in-game area consisting of a few rooms, each giving basic information and helping players understand what sets us apart from other Minecraft servers. As an incentive, players going through the tutorial get basic supplies to start up, making it easier to survive that first night or two!
While this targets new players, everyone is free to try it out. ...
As many of you already noticed, a big challenge coming from Minecraft 1.14 is a lack of performance: slowdowns are fairly common. This isn't tied to our hardware, as the game itself is known for running slow in multiple situations.
I've done some setting tuning on Laurasia in the past 10 days to try to improve the situation, and the results so far have been positive. I've now extended this to the other servers, hopefully giving us a smoother gameplay experience!
The September challenge is now live! This month, we're doing something a bit different: a special map is available, where your mission is to destroy as much of it as you can! You've read that right - grab your best griefing tools and go nuts on an established place. We want this done properly, though, and not recklessly, because we care. If you accidentally die, you'll be kicked off the world for a full week, following the UHC rules. Workers safety first! To ensure that the sp ...
Apocalypse Event Release: 5.5

Wychwood | Snowhead | Shattered Sands | Shoals of the Departed | New Game Releases
This event release is a bit.. strange. Born from the mass of updates needed due to the 1.14 update, we've had to comb through all the existing science areas, items, and mobs; and decided to use this opportunity to rebalance and fix some of the earlier things while we were at it!

As we near the "Holiday Season" we're often bombarded by one in particular... You may already be seeing the merchandise out already, conveniently skipping two other holidays!
Here over in Miranda, the Super C decided to fight the major corporate greed by celebrating HALLOWEEN instead! That's right, we're giving October a bit of love.
Okay? What exactly is involved? Well, for the entire month of October, Contractor's Evening will be enabled. That' ...
Someone pointed out that it'd been a while since the last building contest, and since it's officially the spooky season I guess we're in luck! The village of Woodhollow sits surrounded by the haunted forest of Hangedman's Noose, and it's looking a little grim lately. A new resident has taken up in the mansion consumed by the forest's snaring trees, and he (it?) is looking for a few brave souls to...Beautify his front yard.
With the current contest creeping-up the overworld, it's about time we ring in the season for the Nether as well; with some good old-fashioned Spiderdome mayhem!
This weekend, Saturday October 26th starting at around 10pm EST, we'll be dishing out the chaos with our token stock of crazy mobs as well as a few fancy new surprises. As always, loot obtained during the event is yours to keep so you might walk away with some goodies as well!
And you thought we were done with the Halloween events?! Not a chance!
With the aforementioned date rapidly nearing, we have one last treat (OR IS IT A TRICK?) for everyone: 20 Pumpkin Titans have descended at major locations across Laurasia.
Those who attended SpiderDome had a first hand encounter with one of these beings, and had the first shot at their unique drop- a Halloween Pumpkin! Hold onto one and bring it with you to the ending event ceremony on the next Events Night, November ...
You might have seen some of our regulars chat about game randomizers, or playing "randos". These take a classic game, such as Super Metroid, and randomize the location of all items. The end result is that the gameplay sequence is completely different, forcing you to search for locations that you usually take for granted.
This is what we're doing for this monthly challenge. All item drops have been completely randomized: the classic "punch tree, get wood" no longer applies here! There ...
It's snowing outside, which means it's getting cold!
Wait, that's not it. It's November again, which means that the Creeper's Lab is now eight years old! Still going strong, with many players staying around for long periods of time or even returning after breaks, proving that we're in a healthy situation. Thanks to everyone, old and new alike, for continuing to make this place to success!
Looking back at the past year, quite a few things happened:
- The e ...
New month, new goals and new surprises. We've got a lot for you, so read on for the details!
Advent calendar
MediaKlepto and Twixxi_, with the help of some others, have prepared an advent calendar for you! The concept is simple: go there, get a gift, and you can do so every day starting today up until Christmas! That's 25 potential days of gifts, including useful goodies and decorative items. They'll get rotated every day at around midnight, Eastern time, so don't ...
We've got an active month as far as visitors go thanks to a new ad slot, and we're planning to do this again in the coming months, so it's time to look at getting some more hands on deck!
I'm looking at adding new helpers and ops to the staff of the Creeper's Lab, the exact amount to be determined based on the level of interest.
As a reminder, the tasks of a **helper** are focused mostly on helping the community by answering questions, with a much smaller focus ...
With the autumn season falling slowly behind us, it's finally time to tally up the scores for the Woodhollow-een Building Contest!
Sora, Bob, and I set out to explore your creepy-spooky-possibly-macabre creations, and after a bit of debate have come to determine the Top 4 Winners, owing to the tie for the top slot! Our lucky winners are...
First Place: Anonymous_SoFar & Twixxi_
Second Place: StTheo
Third Place: Doctacosa
You can view the final scores and screenshots of each b ...
As expected, Mojang released on the 10th Minecraft 1.15, a new version full of BEES! As always, it will take some time to prepare the servers for the upgrade, but as this version doesn't have a lot of technical changes, this isn't expected to take as much time as was needed for either 1.13 or 1.14. For now, make sure that your client is using 1.14.4 to stay with us!
In the meantime, the lobby has been made compatible with 1.15 to give us a chance to communicate the latest news w ...
All servers have successfully been updated to Minecraft 1.15.1, the Bug Update. Hopefully, this means more bees and fewer technical issues! ( https://imgur.com/a/ECIGfhR), and carry on! The lobby will still support 1.8 to allow us to warn other players.
For those looking for bees, they'll be made available shortly at Moosemart for a fair price.
Have you tried our parkour courses in the lobby? Thought about building one of your own? Maybe honey blocks unlocked new potential that you'd like to explore?
It's now possible for anyone to build additional courses! When you access the Parkour area, in the Games section of the lobby, you'll find a door at the left leading you to the build area. Use the buttons to switch your game mode to creative, claim a free area by putting your name on it, then get building! It's i ...
Get your best running shoes, remember your New Year's Resolution about making more exercise, and let's race race race!
This month's challenge is Race Away, accessible from the lobby as always. The goal is to run straight East, to get to the highest X coordinate possible during the month. If you die, you get sent back all the way to the beginning with no inventory, so be careful! The world available to you this time around is rich in some resources, but notably lacks a floor ...
The (https://www.creeperslab.net/rules.php) have been expanded and clarified a bit based on recent feedback.
Most notably, what was an unwritten guideline has been formalized: religion and politics discussions are now frowned upon. While both can make for fascinating exchanges, they can also be very divisive. We're here to have fun, not to argue endlessly at each other, so this isn't the place for these.
Additionally, we had a long-standing policy against Endermen farms in th ...
Available today is a fairly large revamp to the Merit Points system. Here's everything that's now available for all to use!
While the points used to available for cash-in during Events Nights only, we're expanding this to the whole week, with a new costs structure! First, what was already available by using */points PERK*:
**flight** - flight: Get the ability to fly for 15 minutes.
**xp** - XP boost: Double the XP that mobs drop for the next 30 minutes.
Minecraft 1.15.2 has been released toda- *yesterday* with a variety of bug fixes and improvements, and the Creeper's Lab has made the jump too! Update your game client to be able to join anywhere beyond the lobby!
Two notable changes are taking place for us. First, the Wandering Traders are being disabled across all servers. They have been an ongoing source of server lag since their introduction, for few benefits in return. Those interested in their trades (or their llamas!) will fin ...
Research on the human body has been progressing well. The latest experiments have yielded new results to reinforce the previous hypotheses, while new side effects have also been uncovered. These effects have been positive overall, opening up new possibilities on the core subject. I've taken to applying these findings to mannikins emulating human shapes, and after some adaptations, they've molded themselves to my needs. The next steps wi ...
