what the hecks subscriptions im a newb

Um ,I know this is a very irritating topic, but I have problems changing my avatar.
You see, when I click on \'browse\', select the picture I want as an avatar, and finally click on Upload Avatar, it says: \'You avatar has sucessfully been uploaded\', or something to that extent.

Moving on, when I look at my profile, I find that nothing has changed! My old avatar lingers! Refreshing works to no avail. So, some trouble shooting. Doc, or any of you, could you please assist me?
