What\'s up with it? It\'s Hurrecaine season, there\'s usually at least one. However, this year was a bit bad, yes.

...Didn\'t you donate to the tsunami fund last year, Wind?

There are risks of disasters everywhere. Though it does seem the water ones are worse; though the area I live in (Illinois/Midwest USA) is supposed to have a lot of tornadoes, I\'ve only had a risk from one (which blew up in a lake before it got to me, when I was 5).

...Actually, for a reason not to livr next to the water I\'d say tsunamis or floods, not hurricanes, since it\'s just the same thing as a tornado with water which [without water] can [still] happen anywhere.

Edit: Just found out: My aunt told me they had so many hurricanes this year that they ran out of names!, so they started using the Greek alphabet .

I don\'t have a good feeling about all these disasters lately.
It\'s almost like nature (or God, or something) is trying to tell us something.

[Wind] You posted about it, which is the only way I knew about it as well.

I missed that little statement; the WORST natural disaster in HISTORY?

....Not quite.

The problem I have with New Orlens is that they KNEW it was coming. They were TOLD that they should evacuate. They CHOSE not to leave, so they CHOSE to die.

And the tsunami came out of nowhere. They had no warning. I donated to that fund because they were caught off guard. I REFUSE to donate to the hurricane \"victims\" because they REFUSED to move. These people had a choice to help themselves but didn\'t take it.

As for the acuall hurricanes: Hey, storms happen. It\'s simply an imbalance that occurs in nature. A storm will rage untill the imbalance evens out. We\'ve just been out of wack as of late.

Also, I\'m not a Bush supporter nor will I ever claim to be but you cannot say that this is his fault. The man has a lot of sh-t on his plate right now since he decided to take on his daddy\'s ambitions. He\'s extending the Western empire, a few hurricanes aren\'t the to of his priority list.

Masterman, posts like this are a fine example of spam. If you don\'t have anything interesting to post... then don\'t post. It\'s that simple.

That\'s easy to say. Moving requires money, and not everyone can spend it just \"in case of...\".

I did donate to the hurricane victims since it is in my religion and I did feel sorry for them, but they shouldn\'t waste the money re-building the city. It\'s below sea level and hurricanes are still going to form. >__>

Not exactly, I think the Tsunami was worse than this. >__> But, that\'s my opinion. Plus, it\'s not entirely Bush\'s fault. People are only blaming him for this because either they were black and they thought he was prejudice or his stupid mistake on 9/11. It was because America was not ready for that big of a hurricane. But, if Bush could run again and he did I bet he wouldn\'t be re-elected. >__>

[Edited on 27-10-2005 by Dr. Cossack] [/quote]Yeah, like most of the people that were still in New Orleans didn\'t have much money. They were poor so they were stranded there.

Which is more important, taking over Middle-Eastern countries, or looking after the very people who trusted you enough to allow you to run the country? I think that \"Daddy\'s Ambitions\" should definately NOT be higher in his priority than making people at home safe. If George Bush\'s priorities were right, help would have come to New Orleans a lot sooner than i did.

Did these countries ask to be part of the \"Western Empire\"? I don\'t think that the world needs there to be one intolerant culture. I don\'t like the phraise \"Western Empire\", and I doubt the Eastern people who are being taken over do either.

I just have to put in my contribution here. A lot of you probably already know I\'m from The Netherlands (little country by the sea next to Germany, above Belgium, which is above France).
I heard on the news America has asked the Dutch help (WTF?). Because we are dealing with floods about every day. About 70% of the country lies below sea level, so we have to protect our little home from the sea. That\'s why we invested loads of money in it, like with the Deltaworks (Deltawerken). Unfortunately, for the Americans who live close to the sea, like in NO, the US government cannot, or better said, doesn\'t want to, invest money in such projects. They rather invest all those bucks in the army and NASA and such. But why create all sorts of weapons for the army and send all those money-and-time-consuming shuttles into space when you can\'t even protect your country from a little wind? Okay, here in the Netherlands, we don\'t have that much wind all at once, or not that often. But starting to build your houses out of bricks would help alot, like we do here in my country.

Not being offensive here at Americans, but somehow the thought that the US government isn\'t capable of much things makes me very happy. They always say like \'We\'re the best country in the world! We\'re awesome!\' and then comes a little wind flowing out of a wind\'s mouth and woopsiedaisy - they fall down their knees.
(PS. I do hope that the US government is capable of \'washing away\' the poverty of people, and hunger, and give people decent homes, but I also hope they stop expanding their army for a moment.)

Hey man I\'m not a fan of the guy. He chose to do what he did. You got questions ask him, not me. I was just pointing out that he has to have attention elsewhere as well as the flooded areas.

How many even died there? Wasn\'t it thought to be about 1000 but ended being only about half that?

Died where, the Middle-East or New Orleans? Either way, there were too many preventable deaths.

I agree almost fully with Morphman.

Yeah sure, they CHOSE to die.

They had NO MONEY. Sure, some were morons and stayed behind to \'watch their investment\' (house)..but many others were poor. They didn\'t have enough money to buy enough gas to get them away from the hurricane. Some of them didn\'t even have cars. Or houses. And what about the sick in hospitals and such? They can\'t just leap out of bed and run to another state.

They couldn\'t leave, leaving wasn\'t an option for alot of people there. You\'re just being ignorant.

Yeah, but do I make it a point to insult them? I believe that I\'ve tried very hard as of late to shy away from politics and whatnot.

My beef with Samsara, is that he always insults America, everytime he mentions America he attaches some negative connotation. In the entire time that I\'ve known him, the only time he\'s ever said anything positive about America, is about some of the performers that came out of it.

Hell, I jokingly challenged his hate of cats once, and got a lecture on why cats equal teh destruction of the enviroment, and if I recall, I was attacked for my like of them.

But if I have dissed nations frequently in the past--and not like my occasional Canada joke--then please show it to me. I would gladly eat my words and renounce the statement.
