I think that in some cases censorship can be good, but, in others, it\'s an annoyance. For example, hy did they bother to edit the blood out of MMZ? I don\'t think the game is any less better because of it.. I just.. don\'t see the point. It\'s a waste of resources to have a bunch of programmers and artists sitting on their asses and editing out little things like that, when they could all be working on TRANSLATING THE DIALOGUE BETTER.
In a way, however, the blood in RMZ would have made for a more interesting game... for example, it showed something that a lot of people didn\'t know: Reploids bleed. Blood is an efficient way of carrying energy/nutrients and whatnot. I wonder if they would have edited it if it looked black, instead of red? Simple little things like that irritate me about the editing system (or, lack thereof). MMX and MMZ have a dark, somewhat depressing storyline.. it\'s not meant for little kids, so, why appeal to the soccer moms, anyway?

Why change it black? Answer: Capcom is the laziest game company I\'ve ever known. They had no time to change it to black, to simulate oil.

Lilly from Battlenetwork 4: Red Sun does underage drinking. She\'s 11-13 years old, and she does under-age DRINKING of alcoholic drinks!? Whats up with her!?

JustinBailey doesn\'t make Samus naked. It puts her in a bikini. That\'s not naked. And no, getting through the game in a bikini does not show Samus naked at the end.

And so what if she\'s drinking at that age? It\'s not gonna kill her.

The ESRB is very..perplexing. They rated Gradius V \"Teen\", for \"mild violence\". When they rated Gradius III and IV \"Everyone\"..with mild violence. Why did Gradius V get rated higher yet III and IV had the same exact basis? Because Gradius V is 3D, maybe?

Metroid Prime was rated Teen for the fact it was a First Person Shooter ALONE. The ESRB is full of a bunch of varying crackpots.

On Topic: These words: Godzilla Destroy all Monsters: Meele. The Asian version had MechaGodzilla 3, but in the American version, he\'s replaced by MechaGodzilla 2 from \"Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II\". Why the hell would they change him!?

Have you ever noticed that America never forgets? Never! We have a tendancy to take something bad that happened (suicide bombings, cults, gangs, etc.) and blow them totally out of proportion. This is human nature, so I wouldn\'t mind if the government or whoever is doing this would simply change with the times. However, even in different states long after the incidents happen, strict laws aren\'t lifted. This leads to us having to solve the complications of leaving them alone, which interferes with the orignal law that they refuse to abolish.

Also, think about it: If we have an ESRB rating system, do we really need games to be modified for our children\'s sensitive minds? You mean to say that we aren\'t responsible to check from time to time and see what the children are watching/playing/doing, so you\'re going to do our job for us? That\'s just plain wrong; If you\'re not responsible enough to keep an eye on your children\'s actions, you should have to face the concequences of those actions. I\'m rambling, I know, but you see my point, right?

Finally, who decided that a little blood would permanently scar a kid if he\'s under 13? Who\'s brilliant idea was it to ban any allusion to sex at all, when sex-ed is being taught in schools around 5th grade? Believe it or not, kids can distinguish video game from reality. Want a test? push them off a jungle gym into a sand box. When they don\'t dissappear in a puff of smoke and then just magically appear out of nowhere to the top (Wile E. Coyote) then they\'ll get it.

I dunno, america completely forgot about the Oklahoma bombing after they found out \"one of our own\" did it and it wasn\'t a terrorist act. So I guess america only remembers when some other country is at fault, we try to forget our own faults even though those that died deserve remembrance too.

About the ratings, now I think that a young kid can still be influenced by a game. Does anyone remember when they were little, and wanted to be like the hero (or if they were like me, the villain) of a game or movie or some such? And you wanted to jump like Mario or cling to walls like Spidey? (just examples, there) Kids are still the same nowadays. But they have easier access to games like GTA..what kind of role model is that? \"I want to be like whats-his-face and steal cars, take prostitutes and run people over!\"

So yeah, I can see parents problems with games. But I also see my problems with parents. They don\'t even know what the hell their kids are playing, they just buy them whatever they whine for.
