Spoiler (click to toggle)
Um.. protoman had some sort of a virus i thought and was going to die. It was in one of the power Battles arcade games. I\'d assume Megaman was upgrade to X and found By Dr. Cain in the light series. Zero was made by Wily... as you learn in MMX4. All the other reploid are just copies of Megaman\'s design. So i\'d assume Wily died because MMZ happens after the X series because they refer to it has the Reploid war. So that kind rules out Wily being Weil since he still claims to be human... unless he too upgraded himself like Light did to megaman.

Sooo much left unsaid by capcom.

Sorry if thats a spoiler, idk how to do the cool little box... :conf:
Nevermind, i fixed it... sorry.

Actually, while I don\'t think that Dr. Weil and Dr. Wily are the same person, you can\'t rule out the possibility. In Zero 4, Weil claims that he was kicked out of Neo Arcadia almost 100 years ago. That would already make him impossibly old by the time that the Zero series comes around.

But I thought X was in a capsule during oringal games, that would be a bit confusing to put in Oringals parts with X.In Power Fighters, if you play as Bass and win, You see a shadow of Zero right there!

I thought the shadow of Zero was a blueprint, or some sort of computer display. I\'m fairly certain that Bass wouldn\'t have just left him there if he was already complete.

Try this. X is near completion, but Zero is completed. Wily dies, ordering the Robot Masters to shut down and send Zero to destory Dr.Light, Megaman and his crew. Bass gets angry and joins Dr. Light. Roll stays behind to give supplies to Megaman, Protoman, Bass and others. Megaman loses to Zero but before Zero can pound his head in, Roll comes in and shoots. After a bit of a chase, Roll gets pushed into a iron spike. Zero decides to finish her off, but Bass takles him. Protoman comes to help, but Bass is killed along with Megaman. Zero runs off with info. where Light is hidden. Protoman finds Roll dying and also learns where Light is. Zero hits Light with a blaster shot but Light lives. Protoman comes in and fights. Light gets shot a few times, but Zero is shut off. Light dies, telling Protoman to hide X. Protoman goes to a new planet after this.

I enjoy BnG\'s cataclysm movies sure enough. But I too get tired of people thinking the damn thing is canon.

Now let me make this clear:

Bob and George never has, isn\'t, and never will be canon in any way shape or form. And so help me, if I find a single person who thinks the TV show was canon I...I, I just can\'t be held repsonsible for what I\'m going to do!

Canon, I believe, is mentioned on another topic as the absolute truth in a matter. That is, the ones in charge said it, and no matter how many fans go against it and make new stuff they can\'t change it.

In clear, it\'s the official material. For example, in the Star Wars universe, there\'s little canon content besides the movies themselves (and some of the books).

Star Wars is a bad example DC. Star Wars is unique in that, everything published is canon. Just authorized under different levels.

For instance, everything in the Books--which are the second-highest in canon--is canon, unless contradicted by the movies which is the highest level of canon.

Mega.X is right on this one the games make it even more complicated.
Example that is true: I was playing Star Wars Knights of the old republic 2, At the end of the Telos level the planet is destroyed, but according to the old Jedi Apprentice series ,that tells the adventures of Obi-wan and Qui-Gon,They are on Telos well over a century after it was alledgedly destroyed back in the KOTOR games.

As I said, it\'s the official material only, as coming straight from Capcom. In Mega Man\'s case, that would be the games (of course), the instructions manuals, some of the content found directly on Capcom Japan\'s website, and the content of some source books. Cartoons, anime, manga and the like are NOT canon.

Maybe he\'s asking for what is canon in this case?

I don\'t know... Capcom\'s lack of an official explanation is actually the reason everyone comes up with these crazy theories.

Uh...Telos was never really destroyed. Malak bombed it, and Nihilus almost wiped everyone out, but the recovery effort worked. Kotor2 is pretty canon.

Rich coming from you.

And if you want to know what is canon just play through the games and read the booklets that come with them. (eBay\'s your best bet)

Power Fighters is part of the timeline. It happens after MM8, but it\'s not MM9. The reason for this tie into the series is the simple fact that two of the main plot continueances are in it. One would be the appearance of Duo, whom it\'s blindingly obvious our heroes are allready familiar with, (Hence why it occurs after MM8), and the hint about Zero. (Play the game as Bass and win. Wily will brag about his new robot with a shadowy figure in the background which is a way-too-obvious Zero.)

Personally, I just say \"X\". I don\'t take it to mean any sort of number at all. Hence \"Two-thousand X-X.\" They don\'t complicate the math, hence a jump from 20XX to 21XX is simply a hundred years. Nothing more or less.

X could just be Capcom\'s way of saying \"Insert any number\" here.

That is on topic, since he\'s discussing his personal interpretation of what the \"X\" in the year actually means. I think that\'s pretty interesting, considering the way \"x\" is the letter most often used as a variable. Of course, you can use any letter as a variable.
