I\'d just like to know..is anime and manga on the decline where you live? Are your classmates phasing it out and now you\'re becoming the \"otaku nerd\" or is anime and the like just as popular as before?

Or..has anime never been popular at your school/college/university/community? Do YOU even like it?

Manga/anime/etc. never took off at my school. Apart from that one jap-crazed goth who was a very good anime style artist, there was nothing.

So I can\'t really say it\'s on the decline because it was never on the incline.

Anime isn\'t too known around here. Although I know like a kid in 8th grade who looks at hentai. Why? The hell am I supposed to know.

I don\'t like anime much. It\'s sort of hard to keep up with the storylines. And there are too many out there. And none of them seem to intresting to me. But thats just me.

Im the only one at my school who reads manga.And watch anime.THE only anime that they know about is dbz.The kids in my class call manga the back ward book when i read them.

Anime wasn\'t too huge when I was in highschool, but now it seems to have gotten bigger- over the past few years, I\'ve seen the bookstore go from having one small row of manga to having three full stands worth. Other than that, it just seems like more people generally know what I\"m talking about, and more and more are interested. It\'s kinda cool, really.

Most people barely know anything about anime at all, not to mention manga and other forms of Japanese animation. Most people at my school really believed they have evolved past the age of cartoons. In fact, they don\'t even seem to realize that hentai is a common, thriving art form. Not that I enjoy it being such, but it\'s obvious it is. <_<;

There\'s only one person at my school I know who\'s a huge fan of anime, and they\'re only into very select ones, almost always only ones with giant robots such as Gundam and Escaflowne (but not Big O... T_T). Only a handful of others know anything about anime, and nobody but my brother and I read any manga at all.

I guess we\'re kind of a slightly rednecky school, so it\'s understandable.

At my school, there\'s an anime club that has like...7 members XD. Outside the club, most ppl I know are into DBZ or Sailor Moon, but refuse to go beyond that.

A lot of bookstores sell mangas, but getting DVDs isn\'t easy (unless you don\'t care about bootlegs).

....isnt it obvious......its hot

So-so, at my school there\'s a club. (Yes, I\'m in it.) As for myself, it is my greatest obbsession, along with video games and the internet. The bookstores are starting to get more manga, but imports are a bit hard to find.... Luckily, I know a few good import stores.

Mmmm...doesn\'t help your cause any when you\'re the one saying all that. Besides, plenty of people will be agreeing with me when I say that you just described yourself fine and I don\'t need to say a word.

As for Azreal..no I do not read Fruits Basket (don\'t even know what it\'s about..). I read Rurouni Kenshin, Berserk, and Lupin III.

Tenchi Muyo! wasn\'t a \"nudie show\".. It had Ryoko in a japanese bath, and she\'s very..well, she likes to show off. So she did, infront of Tenchi..for comedy. It wasn\'t meant to be porno in any way. She thoroughly embarassed Tenchi and made Ayeka very angry. That was the whole point, not \"huhuhuuhuhuh look at Ryoko\'s boobies\"

It never was a big thing around here. Ev though I like it, I can\'t get just *ANY* manga here and we get just a few anime, which are, of course, edited by WBKids.

Thanks for sticking up for the Tenchi series.

Yeah, it really has a lot more to offer than just what it would appear on the outside. You might be thinking, \"oh, yeah, a million beautiful alien women in the house with one guy, I know where this is going.\" But it really has a lot more to offer than just \'nudie women.\' The plotlines of the anime series are great, and the jokes and animation style in the mangas does a lot to please me anyways. It\'s one of the funniest mangas I\'ve read so far, and one of my favorite animation styles too. The characters are some of my favorite in anime as well. Although, don\'t get me wrong, there\'s a lot of manga out there. It\'s understandable that not everyone likes the same thing.

There\'s a small group of people at my school who like anime, including me. Other than that there\'s nothing.
