Exactly, X needs a companion that doesn't speak. Would be a nice change of pace.

But we all know Capcom. No change unless it's MAJOR.

That reasoning was debated before, and the general opinion is that it doesn't make sense: "Mega Man X" would be "Mega Man Ten", if you wish. However, what's "Mega Man X2"? Is it "Ten-Two"? "Twelve"? If it's the latter, then you're missing an "Eleven" somewhere!

As far as I'm concerned, "X" is a letter, and nothing more.

Hello Dr. Cossack. I'm new to your forum, and old from the Capcom BBS. When I first started posting on the Capcom BBS you were still there...that was about 6 years ago. Anyways, I see you're still kicken, and a very nice board you have here too.

Now, on to why I'm posting in this thread. I remember having quite a few debates with various people on this myself, and my take on it has always been the same as the good Doctor's. X is simply a name, Mega Man X's name to exact. Therefore the titles make perfect sense, because it's the X series, just like the original series does because it's the Mega Man series. (There's really only one Mega Man, and that's the orignal series one. All of the other ones just happen to have Mega Man as part of their name, they arn't actually Mega Man himself.) This also brings up another discussion, as to whether or not X is an upgraded version of the orignal Mega Man, and my conclusion has always been that he is not. He is a separate being altogether from the orignal Mega Man. X is X, and Mega Man is Mega Man, and that's that. Well that's the way I see it anyway... Thoughts anyone? Everyone?

I'm a Mega Man nut... I own them all, and have them in a lighted display case to boot.
(Excluding the Battlenetwork series...which I detest.)

Well... all I can say is make the introductions in the Who Are You? Thread in the chit-chat section.

"Why do you care that I care that you care enough to care that I care for caring?" "Conversation isn't your strong point, is it?"
"I worship the supreme comrade Cossack!"

Capcom is kinda not doing Megaman any more...
Legend stopped.
Battle Network ended, save for Star Force.
Original just had that chibi game, but no MM9
X hasn't have a game in a while.

They more or less think of it as a letter. D:

So I guess we have XI. =(

Sorry about that. I meant in lines like the main storyline, not side games.
Still, think of 8 NEW Robot Masters and tell Capcom about them, and watch what happens.
