Well, I told Ash, who is uber-cool, by the way, that I would draw her a picture of Gate, and decided, \"Hey, why not just post it on the board for her?\" Then I figured that I\'d invite other people to go ahead and post fanart of him here too, if they want, rather than make the thread for just my picture. Ash, this includes that totally awesome picture of Gate you drew on photoshop! You can ask me how to do it in PM\'s if you don\'t know. Anyway, don\'t be afraid to critique this; I like critique.



I used an india-ink brushpen for the line art, and photoshop for the coloring.

The hand looks a bit weird fingerwise but overall the figure is sound and the helmet in particular is great.

I can only wonder what he\'s looking at...

This is actually my first serious try at mouse drawing, so I apologize for the sketchiness.

I\'m glad you liked the picture! And that\'s awesome for a mouse drawing, don\'t sell yourself short! I really like your coloring and shading on it; it looks so official. I\'m sure you\'ll get the hang of the mouse sooner or later. (And for the record, I just typo\'ed \"moose\" and corrected it! XD) Seriously, I really like it! Zweee, so... much... Gateness!

Anyways totally tubular Rioni..let me guess, Faber Castell pen? But yeah, his right hand does look alittle mushed together, like the fingers have no bones. ...well, I know they don\'t but that\'s beside the point. Also his left eye is kind of..high, it seems. The glow is cool though, and he looks like..well, Gate..

And Ash, it is a little sketchy and the coloring is very flat, but nothing wrong with that, there\'s still a good sense of depth.

Gah! These pictures are awesome! Ri, I LOVE the glow off the computer screen, and Ash... well.. that just rocks! Gate doesn\'t get enough love! =D This should be the official Gate appreciation thread!

Love that picture of Gate, HT! That\'s something that you posted on the oekaki once, right? The monchrome colorscheme is really nice there, and I like the angle, too. His chin looks a little funky, but it\'s probably just the angle. ^^

Nice new piece Rioni. I really love Gate\'s jacket, because, like all other stuffed-shoulder jackets, it reminds me of Faust. The pose is also very nice looking. I wish I had crits to make. I\'ll try to find something.

I remember Gold Gate by Hollow at the Oekaki. Gold Gate looks awesome and power-crazed. That\'s always a good thing. I don\'t think I commented when you first posted it, but then again, I seem to let a lot of good pics go by without comments.

And Ash, I had no idea you were such a nice artist! I had never seen any of your work. I love all of your solid shading and the emphasis of the shine on the silver of his helmet. The gem looks a little un-gem-like for a lack of shine in comparison to the rest, but that\'s the only real crit I have.

I\'ve never drawn Gate myself, so I\'ll leave now.:P

Those more human-like Gates are awesome, Shadowfire! I\'m really impressed by your work on the eyes; they have a lot of depth.

And Ri, the black and white drawing is very cool! What you\'ve done with the shading is really effective. I like the angle of the picture a lot; his helmet is drawn to it really well. And I quite enjoy the face! He looks somewhat mischievious.

Hey, thanks! That picture was originally called \"The Shadows of Madness.\" But I guess mischevious could describe his expression, too! I\'m still fairly proud of this as my first ever pictures of Gate. ^^

I really like that title! I guess maybe madness was more along the lines of what I was thinking, and it just came out \"mischievious.\" Perhaps he could be madly mischievious?

Well, I just finished this piece today; I hope it shows a little bit of improvement, color-wise especially.

...Ash, you are really selling yourself short. You can\'t become proficient with a mouse unless you practice. Also, that isn\'t bad! It\'s very good considering it\'s mouse drawn. I can\'t mouse draw for beans!

I think it\'s awesome work! Seriously! The line art really doesn\'t look sketchy to me, and the color is great. If you want to make shiny things look shinier, you should try shading and highlighting with brighter and darker, more abrupt colors. Metallic shading can be really fun! But you\'re doing great, and man, I love the dynamic pose. That sort of thing can be so hard to nail...
