Eh Doc? What happened to the polls and smilies? I liked the old ones better... If this could have been a poll it would have been, but I am wondering how many people want the old ones back.

I don't mind the smilies since they're the same on ioekaki, so it really fits with the whole io-theme. XP

I think I agree. Polls were rarely ever useful (I'll also admit that my own ones were nothing special, and, even though I'll miss green grinning smily, I'm happy to have the addition of the oekaki smilies. There's a lot of ones I like in this set, such as this one ( :hehe: ) and this one ( ). They give the board a bit nicer of an atmosphere. I intensely hated :rolleyes:, and yes, as MorphMan said, the demon heads were abused like mess.

I quite like these smileys, I just say we need a laughing one, big time. That's all I need at a forum, a laughing smiley so I don't have to use LOL or XD.

Now no one will be able to vote on my chemical element poll. Oh woe is me!

Yeah I kinda miss the old smilies. I really like the 'madgo' (that was totally me, all the time, whenever Morphy made me mad) and I loved the 'rofl'. Rolling laughing smilies are the best. ^^ I also liked the sick one. He looked funny. I named him Juan. But, sadly, Juan is gone. :[

I wouldn't be so sure, it seems whenever Doc sets his mind on something he doesn't want to let it go.

It seems like polls were really only useful in cases where you need a quick way to tally up the count of who likes what, and even then it seems like it's a shaky representation that can't accurately gather the second opinions members have, right?

I think one good thing about there disappearance is that it encourages members to actually voice there opinions, instead of just pushing a button, remaining nameless and ducking out (which rarely works in itself if there was a joke option to push :hehe: )

I think my Boy or Girl poll got the most votes, wasn't that a useful poll?

I'm just saying, a topic can do pretty much the same thing as a poll in most situations without the limitations. Voters are not limited in options, they are encouraged to actually sit down and read what you have to say, etc. etc. In a poll, all most people really did was shuffle in, vote, and leave, like my brother said.

So no, I won't miss polls. Not that I hate polls or anything, but they don't encourage the same level of community. ^_-

I guess, and it seems that when people would post polls, they would say something like: choose, or I like this one, ect.

The point of the comparison is that people complained but ended up doing fine without the upload feature. I believe the same case will happen here.

Most of the polls just started fights, anyway. And as for the smilies... Heh. I rarely if ever used them, anyway. I make my own smilies. =P
