The improvements to the board are many, indeed, but I was wondering....since it's HIS coding, would adding a shoutbox to the front page be difficult? It's just a convenient chat device, and apparently runs quite smooth. Although I'm sure to get many complaints of how much spam this would attract....I was just wondering if a shoutbox would be a possibility?
Call me a hypocrite, but I don't like the idea. This site doesn't really need one, it has a forum and a chatroom already.
I'd never allow a frontpage shoutbox without it having user registered and compulsory login. I can get that data from the message board easily, but really, what's the point? Once you need to login in order to post, you might as well drop by the message board itself.
I think that those things work well with smaller sites, but quickly get harder to manage when your site grows and you get better search engine rankings.

I think Shoutboxs are more towards small sites, like mine, and stuff like that.
I have the power of an admin over the little box. Muaha. XD
But I don't think Interordi really needs one. =/
I think shoutboxes go, as was said, better with small sites, or RP sites, where there isn't as much 'OOC space'. 'sides, IO is great enough already, no?
