First of all, opinions by people playing ROMs don\'t count here. I\'m talking about the cartridge itself.

A while ago, there was a scare about getting your save deleted due to a bug in the Japanese version of the game. If this has been fixed for the American and European releases of the game is unknown. However, did it ever happened to you to boot the game and find that your save \"vanished\"?

That, unfortunately, happened to me yesterday... I didn\'t played the game in over a month, and when I started it, no save present... I guess I won\'t be replaying it anytime too soon: I don\'t have time to go and collect all those darn chips once again.

That always happened to me with my SNES games... I never had any problem with any GBA saved games.

Yeah, all games that haven\'t been played for awhile usually deletes whether we like it or not. This is why once in awhile I would play my old games like pokemon or so... Losing all that information is is like losing all your hours of life you spent. So that is why I would go back to my old games once in awhile to check up.

Uhh... I never had a savegame deleted besides MMBN2, even from my old NES games, so I doubt that\'s the problem...

I\'ve had data deleted from me too! Its happend to me in Zelda: A Link To The Past, Super Metroid and some of my NES games like Final Fantasy and Zelda 1 and 2. I guess that\'s why they make Memory Cards now. To many problems! But as for GBA games and such other hand held games, I don\'t think there\'s alot you can do about them, unless you know you are worthy of a Gameshark, you can just redo the game and have all the, well for instance, MMBN2 you could have all the chips and not have to get them again because you know that you\'ve done it all once already. It wouldn\'t be cheating, heck if anything, I think it\'s the game that cheated you for deleting itself(Data wise)!;D Damaging the cartigde will result to Data damage. It\'s even happened to me on the N64 with such games as Mario Party and other Multi-player games.(it really sucks, I had to get ALL the Mini-games again, and for Mario Party 3, I had to do that stupid Story Mode again) It\'s normally only with cartridge games, so take good care of your games and look up on them every once in a while until we figure something out.;D

Pulling out the game pak while the GBA is on can cause the saved file to be deleted.

Chances are, the problem is related to the Internal battery. If it dies, you won\'t be able to save.

I think Nintendo replaces those batteries.

O hgreat, now you got me scared that all my hard work will be gone(about 50 hours,i\'m only on the beggining Hard mode.On purpose, mind you)For thosw of you who lose your save for a while, the battery probably got shaken out of it\'s connection, the fell back into place.Send it to Nintendo, and they should fix that problem.

This happened to me, twice:madgo: I was playing MMBN3 Blue when my GBA ran out of power. No matter I thought I just saved. So i go upstairs and get my charger. I plug it in turn on the gameboy...the save is gone.

From then on whenever i play a GBA game I don\'t let the battery go all the way down with a game IN the GBA

ABSOLUTELY. I count cheated games as void, so my game got deleted a couple of times (I\'m talking about MMBN3 White). I thought White was supposed to be foolproof. For people who wants a number, it\'s about twice.

Also, a copy of MMBN1 didn\'t save properly. I finished the game, and then got bored with it and decided to start over. Then the save started failing me :(.

I dunno. Does you \"Bad Cartridge\" look fake? That happened to me with Harvest Moon 3! Damn fake cartridge that said \"GAME\" at the top in big bold letters. Saudering job was horrible! No warrentee! The bolt in the back WASN\'T a bolt. It was a screw.

You try using an old Nintendo Cleaner kit to clean the conneting chips? If dust is on those, it can screw up how the Console reads the game. Yes, it sounds wierd, but it\'s true!

You ever pull the game out of the console while it was STILL on? That will do it.

Key thing, ALL old games erase, because the connection is messed up. Say, you drop your game boy, and the cartridge moves out of alignment. It won\'t always erase, but it\'s possible. DON\'T TAKE ANY CHANCES!

All my Super Nintendo games erase, because of how easy the cartridge moves inside the machine. NES has less problems, because it has a door to keep the game inside the machine, you dig?

It\'s all because of the chip connections.

I put DKC3 in my SNES, and turned it on. An error came on the screen saying \"You are using an illegal device of some sort\" yadda yadda yay. It thought the game was in an Emulator. I took the game out, and placed it back in, and it was fine.

You see, there might be a bug in the game, but are the chips connecting to the system right?

happened to a friend of mine on BN1 , except it was a little worse than just the savegame being gone.

He had just finished the waterowrks, and turned off the game. Next day I went over and turned on his GBA, the games started bu tthe main screen was scramled like hell, (the music was sscrambled too)and instead of saying \"New Game, Continue\" it said \"New MBG(scrambled sprites), Con(scrambled sprites)\"
Naturally i clicked it off, took out the cartdidge, and checked it for anything that coulda caused it. Nothin.
I turned on the game, and it started up semi-normal (no bgm on the title screen) and the continue data was gone.
Everytime you hit \"new Game\" The screen turns black, and then the sound went all weird.

We never did find out what happened, since he sold his GBA, and turned in the broken cart a few days later for some N64 Games...

(Note: he didn\'t drop it or anything...)
