I got to see the midnight showing this morning. I really liked the movie, and I loved how it had a cliffhanger ending. Post here if/when you've seen it.

I really do want to see it, but I'm ashamed to admit I've only watched the other half way through. I don't know why I never finished it; it was pretty good, and I'm always a pirate-guy. Like I was saying, the new one looks pretty great too, so I really should rent the first one and finish it out some time.

On another note, ninjas would die if forced to inhabit the Carribean. Just so you know. That's why there's never been a "Ninjas of the Carribean." They just ain't got the sea-salt in em.

Wow, the ending was a shocker. @__@ The movie was fantastic. The same familiar characters all reappeared from the first film (Minus Barbossa....probably was too tired after his role in KH2...=P) I noticed, however, Jack seemed a little....less drunk in the film. >.O

And the commercials LOOK funny, but is it actually funny or just a bunch of stupid pirates swordfighting?

It's funny, but the plot is a lot darker. There's about two rd fights, and one of them is a three-way.

I just saw the movie, and it was good. The ending really surprised me, and several of the later events raised a lot of questions. Hopefully they won't leave anything out in the next movie.

By the way, for those who don't know, the next and final movie is supposed to come out next year.

Spoiler (click to toggle)
At the very end. After they're lamenting Jack's death and the voodoo lady tells them that they might be able to bring him back at World's End, but they need a captain who knows the waters. Barbossa walks down the stairs with the monkey, jokingly asks them what they've done to his ship, takes a bite out of his apple, and goes to the credits

Oh, that's right...since it was a midnight release, I had dozed off. >.> It was ONLY 2:00 am in the morning, and, despite uber-awesomeness, it was VERY difficult to stay awake >.<

http://www.askaninja.com/node/1175 I have to agree with this review, at least about the script.

Edit: Fine Mega.X, I thought the first movie was pure genius, but the point is this one was super cliche'd, if you notice Jack was somewhat stereotypical with all his actions, (Me pirate, Me take loot), and the whole deal with this is, it's about 4 storylines jammed toegether to end with a cliffhanger so people have to see the shitty sequel And to be honest, I hate cliffhangeres, especially with the fact i'd have to suffer through the next movie to see the end of that plot line, just so they can make another cliff-hanger. On a lighter note, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley were fine.

I saw the movie a day ago, and it was awsome. The movie was really funny, but I think there could have been more sword fights. I think that the first one was better as well. I also agree that jack seemed a little less drunk in this one. Hide the rum...

To say you didn't like it is one thing, but to say it's horrible, could you at least give some reasons why you thought that? (And that video isn't a good source, since most of his reasons are baseless, and the entire thing is likely biased towards ninja for obvious reasons, being that "The Ninja" was made to be the ultimate in cliche)

I really liked the movie. The only thing I didn't like was,

Spoiler (click to toggle)
after them rolling around in the cage, I thought that the swordfight on the waterwheel was a bit repetitive.. and WAY too long. Parts of it were funny, like when Jack got stuck in the thing, and then hit his head on that metal bar, but the rest seemed so contrived.

One thing I thought was cool was the effect for Davy Jones's face. I thought through the whole movie that it was the actor with prosthetics on his face, and CGI tentacles.. no.. I was wrong. Davy Jones is 100% CGI. His ENTIRE body. I was very impressed by the effects.

If you notice Davy Jones' face and eyes, [You'd have to be really good to familiarize anything with his face] he is the same actor as

Of course, looking at the credits is cheating. :P

Me too. But man were those credits too long. They must've been 15 minutes long. But I guess it was worth it. All hail king Doggy!

I enjoyed the first movie more... Probably because I seem to have this tendancy to like the first and last movies in a trilogy best. The second is always... Well, really, just the first half of the third.

Anyway, I really did enjoy it. There are a lot of unanswered questions and such, but I'll wait to judge that until after I see the third, since there may be reasons for a lot of it in the long run. But... The entire first hour of the movie... It was fun, but a tad pointless to the story. I mean... how did Jack even get into that predicament to begin with? =P

I liked it a lot, maybe just as much as the first one, and with the ending, it's certain there will be a third one.

Meh. I didn;'t care for the ending much. Another year or so to wait to see what happens doesn't appeal much to me.

The movie in it's entirety however, was great. I prefer the Second PotC over the First.

Spoiler (click to toggle)
Jack soon remembers his debt to Davy Jones, hence the start of the movie looking for the key. In a panic after his visit with Bootstrap Bill, he heads to the closest spit of land. Just so happens cannibals live there. So, in some sort of Jack-manner, he convinces them he's a god, etcetra, etcetra, and so he saves himself momentarily, which is where Will comes in.

Did I answer the question, or was it something else you were asking about? >.>

Actually.. he had ALREADY convinced them... In the first movie, towards the beginning, he's talking to the two Brits guarding the docks. It cuts in when he says "and then they made me their chief". Although, how he did this, I'm not sure.

Somehow I wonder whether that has any actual connection, or whether it was just one of those "...and that's how I saved Christmas" types of things where you hear the end of the story and you wonder what it is you missed.

IF you go along a particular timeline, that isn't possible.
Since if you claim that he had convinced them, in the first movie he did not have possesion over the Black Pearl, and had not have a crew either. And this ocurred at that beginning, correct?
And...at the end, the Dog had become that tribes "god" How would a dog convince them?
It may just be those cannibals practice to induct a foreighner as their god.
Anyway, Too much thinking over a movie.

If you waited 20 minutes through the ending credits you would've seen a little clip. Where they're worshipping the dog. If you paid attention you would've understood why they were chasing the dog.

Spoiler (click to toggle)
Basicaly they wanted a new god to sacrifice.
