I would totally buy it a MILLION times. Seriously, I've thought about the things I would do just to have an anime-stylized startup to the old games.
I guess it depends on some factors though, like the general quality of the cartoon and how true they stayed to the series. If it turned out like the EXE anime, nearly a whole different romp from the games, I would be disappointed. But I would definitely make it a point to see it no matter what people said about it.

I thought the EXE anime did good. By branching away from the established plot and into new storylines, new ideas could've been told. Though I wouldn't watch a Legends anime, I think such a move to break away from the game's plot would be good.

It's not the storylines themselves that were bad, hey, you get to see a lot of things that obviously couldn't be reasonably covered in the GBA games and a lot of it makes sense, and forms its own interesting line.
The problem comes with rampant character-place swapping as the main point, for me. If you've gotten to like a character from playing the games, it seems like the show invariably paints a different picture of that character. Also, any villain can often simply be swapped into any storyline willy-nilly. Barring that, the net-battling system isn't ever interesting in the show: some guys show up, if its not a boss or a very especially fun enemy, bew bew, take out each with a buster shot apiece. And blah, blah, rant and so on.

It just doesn't retain a lot of the things I liked about the series. Now, I'm not saying I would want my Legends anime to follow the events of the story straight down the line, no inserted gags or crazy mini-stories or anything like that. I'd just be mad if it turned out they were taking big liberties, like introducing Juno as a villain prematurely or something like that. Like I said, there's hardly anything they could do that would make me dislike the idea, even if I had to make inside jokes every now and then.

I'm not going to add my two cents in about BN, I haven't seen the show or played the games.

A Legends anime would be pretty interesting, but yeah, there's a lot you could do wrong with it. But if you ask me , a good idea for a plotline in the anime would be to show what Rock, Roll, Data, and Barrel were doing between Legends and Legends 2. Or what they were doing during Misadventures. You wouldn't necessarily have to mess with the storyline at all. As for Juno, that'd be annoying if they introduced him too early into it. After all, Rock never learned of his existence until they actually met for the endgame.

Subtitled, sure. And as long as Trigger didn't sound like a girl.

God help us there. It wasn't until X6 that X actually sounded like he was male. Mega Man never got such luck.

Strange thing is, he never had the awkward voice-change phase. He went from a Soprano (X4) to a Bass/Baritone (X6).

Maybe that's why there weren't voices in X5. They wanted us to take X seriously still.

Actually, I think that in the japanese version of X5, they DID have voice acting, and they just skipped that in the American version and gave us fast/skippable text scrolling.

Not sure about that, though, so don't hold me to it.

As long as they don't use villains like disposable Kleenex tissues, remake any of the characters, or put villains in mixedup storylines where they don't belong (Zero and the Cybeasts?...?), I'll be fine with it. Oh yeah, and good voices.

It would get canceled long before then

Dragon Ball Z is existing evidence that that is very possible to not happen - the series is already over, and yet you see new video games, toys, etc. coming out for it every day... And some people think it never gets old... I do...

It wouldn't be a bad idea,but what if they put in new characters?

I think new characters would actually be a GOOD idea, but NOT if they get a big role.

And with 'big role' I mean as big as any Servbot's role was in the games.

I think the Legends series is the series that is best suited to have an anime out of all the MM series. And even though the X games are actually my favorite, I would watch a Legends anime. But a 3rd game with lots of the same humor and character development that we've already seen in the first two games would be even better. And perhaps they can include more anime elements into the next Legends game.
