I'll listen to just about any kind of music. I don't stick to any particular genre. I'll listen to country as much as I would to metal.

But, I guess my favorite band would be 3 Doors Down, particularly their song "Life of My Own."

I am extremely certain there was a "why type of music do you listen to" topic, and I posted in there. ^^ But presently, my favorite band is Within Temptation.

Bands: Queen, Green Day (new and old, I guess), LP, Sean Pual (the little rap I listen to is from him), Mettalica, Jimmy Eat World, and Bon Jovi.

Songs: Too many to say...I'll just point out the one's I've listened to recently, as examples. "St. Jimmy", "Jesus of Suburbia", "Basket Case", "She's a Rebel", "Whatsername", "Radio Ga Ga", "I want it all", "Another One Bites the dust + (a rapper can't remember who, but it's an awesome combo)" , "Hammer to fall", "Invisable man", "Master of Puppets", "Enter Sandman", and "Smack my bitch up". Lots I know.

Oh, yeah, other than Within Temptation, I like a crapload of other stuff... I have a love of classical music, especially piano, and I also adore Hoobastank and Linkin Park, Enya, Celine Dion, Queen... As you can tell, I like a fair smattering of everything, lol.

People actually like Nickleback? Egad, I weep for the direction today's youth are going.

I mostly only enjoy older music. My favorite band is The Beatles, whose song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" would be my favorite song if I had to name one. But one is never enough.

Queen is a close second. The Doors are pretty cool, too.

There are many others too but I'm honestly too lazy to list them all and I doubt anyone really cares, either.

In any case, I'm not much of a fan of rock as much as I am pop, classical, and videogame.

Within pop, I've recently been attracted to the music of Rie fu and Mai Kuraki, but my tastes really depend on the specific song. If you want, I can post a list of some of my favorites.

Classical: My favorite composers are Chopin, Prokofiev, Bach, and Mendelssohn. Prokofiev's management of tonality is one of the coolest things ever, IMO; Mendelssohn never fails to delight; the complexity and depth of Bach's music is extraordinary; and Chopin's writing is...practically god-like.

As for videogame, my favorite composers would probably be Michiru Yamane (Castlevania series), Hitoshi Sakimoto (FFTactics and beyond), maybe Minako Hamano (Super Metroid, Fusion, and Zero Mission), Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy), and Dave Wise (Donkey Kong Country). Honorable mention go to Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger), Koji Kondo (many Nintendo series), and maybe a handful that I can't think of.

Just so it isn't super Emo(Hawthorne heights, Linkin park)or anything by queen (Raining men, 2 words that can make anyone shudder)or some freaken rap(Do I need examples for this) I'll listen to it...

What do you have against Queen? "We Will Rock You" is one of the best songs ever.

I can deal with rap and country, but I swear, if I ever have to listen to another girly boy band, I'll rip my spikey hair out.

As for stuff I like, I have a wide variety, I mostly like my rock somewhere inbetween alternative and metal. Depending on my mood. Usually I like it on the more metal side. I listen to a lot of the Christian rock, like Jonah 33, Falling Up, and Thousand Foot Krutch. Skillet, Jars of Clay, and Switchfoot are pretty good. The closest I prefer to get to rap is DC Talk. Non Christian bands include, but not limited too, Disturbed, System of a Down, Linkin Park(Sometimes), Breaking Benjamin, Pink Floyd, and Oingo Boingo.

Some of my favorite songs are:
Jonah 33: All For You( I can play the lead guitar part), and Watching You Die.
Thousand Foot Krutch: Phenomenon, Hand Grenade, and Move.
Pink Floyd: Another Brick in the Wall
Oingo Boingo: Dead Man's Party, and Dirty Little Secret(I think that's the name of the song)

I do listen to some of the Emo stuff, but not a lot. I don't own any CDs of that genre. Unless you count Breaking Benjamin.

Those last bands are horrible to say the least...

I want to be the first to say knock it off. WHY is it that EVERY time someone posts a topic like this, you can't just stick to saying what you like, but you have to trash other things? It's flat out irritating to have people list eight different ways some band or other sucks. You know what? Some people like it.

I don't think I should have to defend myself for liking Linkin Park, Nickel Back, or Creed, and neither should anyone else. I like a very very large chunk of music, some better than others. (After all, I already said Within Temptation is my favorite. I'm a sucker for listening to a talented vocalist like that.) But still... It doesn't make me any more or less a person for liking what you don't like. After all- I could go on about what music I think is a joke, but I have the tact to keep my oppinion to myself.
