Speed runs are always fun! Especially for MMX games! You can view a bunch of them at YouTube.

I watched awhole bunch there today and it really got me in the mood to play MMX Collection and so forth. Some of these speed runs will just blow your mind!

Anyways, for my records:

I just beat Mega Man X1 in 27 minutes, start to finish, without using/obtaining the Hadoken. 13 stages, 2.07 minutes per stage on average (some maybe more or less).

I'll post more of my records eventually. Well, have fun and godspeed!

PS: If there's anyway you can share some of your speed runs, feel free to do so. Just no cheating!

I'm not really a fan of attempting speed runs, since that requires playing through a game several times in order to know what to do to get the fastest speeds. I'd rather play a few different games instead of replaying the same one over and over, unless it's especially good of course.

Mega Man X1 sounds like one of those games where it could be possible to make an attempt... Maybe I'll give it a shot someday. Maybe.

Speed Demos Archive is the awesome place to go. They've got a good X1 speed run there. I tried practicing for a Gunstar Super Heroes run once but I've decided not to really run it.

Yeah Speed runs take a while to perferct. I'd probably try it on a arcade game like Metal Slug, or any other game that I have beaten many times.

But the runs they have on Speed Demons Archive are crazy. o_o

I once performed a full Metal Gear Solid playthrough on a 2-hour car trip. That's about as fast as I've ever gotten in beating a game.

That's actually pretty good. Here's the order I chose on my X1 speed run:

Chill Penguin
Storm Eagle
Flame Mammoth
Chill Penguin (Collect Heart)
Launch Octopus
Boomerang Kuwanger
Sting Chameleon
Spark Mandrill
Armored Armadillo

I'll probably try to think of a different order, so that I don't have to re-enter any levels.

That's the coolest speedrun I've ever seen. Someday I'll do one... Anybody tried Wily Wars for speed yet?

I've never tried to do a speed run yet. I can get through Sting Chamberlan's (SP?) stage in a little over a minute because I used his stage to get extra lives. Anyway, so the way I've tested my skillz at the X series has been by beating them without heart tanks, armor, sub tanks, or special weapons use. I am able to do this in X1, X3, and X4 so far. I also can beat the Sigmas of all these without getting hit. I havn't tried to do this in any of the other ones yet, just my favorite 3 so far. :D Anyway, maybe I'll try doing a speed run of X1 sometime soon.

I'm a Mega Man nut... I own them all, and have them in a lighted display case to boot.
(Excluding the Battlenetwork series...which I detest.)

Ah, yes, Sting Chamberlain. He was the Prime Minister of Britain during the events of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Commerce." A good singer, too, as I recall.

I can beat Megaman 1 for the nes in 1 hour 3 mins, Jon, 53 mins., Robert, 1 hour 15 mins, J.R., 50 Mins, Terry, 1 hour 10 mins, Dub, 1 hour 14 mins, Joe, 59 mins., Henry, 1 hour, and Tony, 56 mins., MM1 is all we had time to try once in a while, all the others are probably to difficult anyways.
