Although I would've liked to think otherwise, it seems you still need to do some heavy reading. If you want to act like half an elitist, you need the knowledge to back it up.

Empoleon's mainly underused, yes, but one of the key reasons competitive battlers have begun to pack him is because of Salamence.

Apparently you don't know about CSMence, AKA Jumpmence:

CSMence. He packs Draco Meteor for a hit and run, containing enough force to seriously decimate or wind anything not steel typed; even Skarmory gets one shotted. Without doing actual damage calcs, the base power is 140x1.5x1.5-- ergo, 315 base power attack coming off a pokemon with about 350 max SpA. Even Blissey comes out heavily scarred.

Dragon Pulse is for late game sweeping, while the other two movesare for coverage.

As I mentioned, this set has become such a metagame scare that alot of people feel obliged to have a defense against it. As you may notice, Empoleon's unique type combination coupled with decent SpDef makes it capable of taking any hit from CSMence, albeit not being able to do too much in return.

So yes, I just uttered Empoleon in a competitive thread. You lose.

That aside, I just don't like Blissey-- nothing to do with its effectiveness as Special wall.

Roffles. Perhaps I'll list the counters to FEAR. I'm not saying it's bad, since all builds have counters. This one just has... a lot.
1. Any of the numerous new first strike moves on the second turn (save Shadow Sneak and Punch, obviously). Don't tell me level 1 Ratatta has a higher speed than anything except maybe level 50 Shuckle or Heracross... no, it doesn't.
2. Don't do really strong attacks first turn? You've only 35 PP total, so I could just wait for you to struggle to death. Pressure and Spite would speed the process, and there are Spiteitombs.
3. Ghost type?
4. Another FEAR Ratatta! OMG! I wonder what would happen if that were to occur...

Did Scenario 4 ever happen to anyone? That sounds rather funny..

I was going to migrate from my Sapphire... but before I take my All-out Assualt Wiscash from that team, I want to know if I have better choices.

HP isn't all that necessary, but you want to capitalize on it's strengths...HP is it's third highest stat, so that's what I went with.



But please note that the Porygon line is my favorite line ever, so I'm probably being biased. >__>

So, thanks to PLDH, I found the easiest way to EV train.

First, infect a mon with Pokerus (The effects will stay there even if it's cured, it jsut won't be able to spread) and then go buy a certain item at the Battle Tower for 16 BP....Always by the name of Power_______ (In my case Power Weight for HP training)

With these two things in effect, ONE Bidoof gives off 10 HP EV's...my Duskull is completely done EV training. It's currently at level 14.

So Bidoof gives off HP evs? Btw, I'm looking for a good attack EV pokemon for a Seel, any ideas?

Okay, I might as well ask the best for help on this. I'm living the original Pokèmon dream: be the best with your favorites. (For the record, I'm mixing favorites with functionality, because a team composed of my favorites would be unsalvagable. ) This involves heavy EV training and Nature/IV breeding for all of them. Dewgong is so so, but if you ARE going to use it, get rid of Aqua Tail and Icicle Shard and replace with Surf and Ice Beam.


Flareon is gonna be difficult, since he has virtually NO MOVEPOOL, but I CAN tell you to get rid of Curse. Flareon CAN NOT CURSE with it's HP and defense.

The Dewgong thing makes sense, since a SATK Dewgong probably makes more sense anyway....
Flareon is gonna be pretty Tough, I do admit. I would be using a Blaziken instead, except I don't particularly like Blaziken, and that kinda defeats the whole purpose.

Ah, yesterday was a good day.

Got a Porygon-Z, Gengar, and TTar (DDancing) completely EV trained with good movesets for some specific natured Dittos. <__>

And, during an IV battle, I came to realize that my Sneasel had 29 attack and 26 speed, which is awesome...since it OHKO'd a Claydol with Ice Punch (Clay was EV trained) and was able to bring a Probopass down in two hits (Iron Defense= ovr 900 Defense...lol. <__>)

How does someone with Ice Punch bring down a Probopass that isn't def-pwned at all??

It also had Brick Break. <___>
