I found this interesting bit on megaman outpost and I tend to stick with it.
\"At the E3 Expo in May of 2002, Capcom unveiled the next generation Megaman game. Megaman X7 is the first title to appear on the current generation of console systems. Designed for the Playstation 2, Megaman X7 is the X series\' first foray into the world of 3-D. Based on the footage we have been shown, Megaman X7 is handled from a third-person viewpoint as you guide X or Zero through environments strikingly similar to those in X1, facing many of the same threats therein. Rumor is that it has been said by Capcom that these similarities exist for familiarity only in this technical demonstration of the game - so you can see how it compares to a game we already knew about and cherished. It is not entirely clear how the game functions in 3-D - if it runs on \"rails\" (like the Klonoa or Tomba games) or if complete freedom is allowed.\"
What do you guys think about this? (The idea that the presentation at E3 was merley to display how a new game style could relate to a game we have already played.)
Topic: x7 doesn\'t = x1
x1 background just for comfort?
