Batman has never had any grade-a games. He's had good ones; he's had god awful ones. He hasn't had any like Batman:Arkham Asylum yet.
I'll let the scans show what I mean by hasn't had any like this yet.. (Somewhat dodgy quality on page)

According to the exclusive look in Game Informer, the story is penned by Paul Dini (Batman: The animated Series) to include all of the Dark Knight's most fearsome villains as well. This is meant to have a Bioshock-like feel, and despite a very linear opening sequence, a sandbox style game based at Arkham. Combat is based around three buttons, Stun, Attack, and Takedown, but will not be the only major role in the game engine. The game is boasting gameplay based around stalking and hunting enemies like prey, and considering that you can go anywhere you see, this adds a whole new element to the game. This is not based off of any movies or shows, it is a use of the comic license, giving it plenty of breathing room. The game is meant to take Batman to the edge where the player has to wonder how far Batman will go to stop his enemies (mainly the Joker according to the opening sequence). The game is expected to give gamers the power of choice throughout. Many gadgets will be included, like the batarangs, which can be aimed mid-air while the camera follows them. Numerous villains are to be expected, including: The Joker, Tsasz, Mr. Freeze, The Penguin, Scarecrow, Killer Croc (Big hulking silver guy in the screens), Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and possible others.
Now that i've been proper and explained the details, i'll let the fanboy out. I AM PUMPED! As a Batman otaku I couldn't believe how great this looked and just how awesome everything seems. The environment looks like it's straight out of Arkham Asylum: A serious house on serious earth, and the Joker looks as insane as ever. Hopefully they'll bring in Ken Conroy and Mark Hamill for Batman and the Joker too. Oh man, I got to cool down now, talking about this has me all hyper.
