I swear, my face must have dropped to the floor when I saw the news post... All I saw at first was the title "Megaman 10 Confirmed!", and I went like "ah, don't tell me he's trying to get people's hopes up in his very first post". Then I saw the source: Nintendopower.com. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me...!"
Well, congrats TJ. The timing was perfect for you to drop this bomb! One minor nitpick: I always try to spell the main character's name as "Mega Man", with the exception of "MegaMan.EXE".

Well I'm glad to hear that you had so much confidence in me.
The thought that you were doing a joke did cross my mind, but I believed that this was legit before I read through the post. It simply took me by surprise, especially a few weeks short of Christmas when no new games usually get announced!
There's one thing you can be certain of: if I didn't have confidence in you, I wouldn't have given you the position to begin with!

According to this guy, Bass will be the third playable character and there will be multiplayer!
Note that this info was posted back on Nov 21. With that said, he was fairly accurate with the story info, so it is possible he maybe right about everything else.
Multiplayer? Wonder how Capcom will gyp us out of that one.

Not sure if they'll just make some mode that allows you to play multiplayer mini-game type games, or if there will be legitimate co-op in the Story Mode.
I think I'd prefer co-op, but if they do that, I hope you can team up with people online. Or maybe it will be a local thing, sort of like New Super Mario Bros. Wii., in which you have to "share" the screen.
My bet is on local 1 vs 1 melee fighting against other human players only. You get a single screen, in the standard boss room format, and a character on each side ready to take down the opponent.

Like Mega Man 7's hidden Street Fighter Mode. That wouldn't be too bad, as long as there's online, and more characters to play as then just Mega Man, Proto Man, and Bass. Can I say, Robot Masters?
My biggest problem with local play is that none of my friends are that fond of Mega Man, so I wouldn't have anyone to play with.
They'd probably make it online too.
New Robot Master: Commando Man
- Expect a new ice-themed boss who dominates a glacier stage. It’s filled with snowmen with exploding heads and ice blocks which break if shot or touched.
- A sewer stage is home to new slug-like Metools.
- A stadium stage contains sports-themed foes like baseball throwing robots, and a soccer goalie mid-boss.
- a desert stage acts as one of the more difficult areas as sandstorms obscure your vision.
- The famous Yashichi item returns, and refills Mega's life and weapon energy completely.
- The shop returns from MM9.
- MM10 features difficulty settings: Easy mode is said to make the game’s difficulty more "in line with Mega Man 2", while hard mode is there for who want a real challenge.
- The game will contain multiple modes, achievements, challenges, leader boards, and downloadable content.
- Unfortunately, there won't be a female Robot Master this time around.
- MM10 is looking to release some time in March 2010.

Sometimes it sucks to be subscribed to Nintendo Power and being located in Canada: I often hear about the big news items before I receive my own copy of the magazine!
That "hard mode" doesn't scare me. I went through the Super Hero mode of Mega Man 9, and while it was challenging, it wasn't impossible. I say bring it on!

Sheep Man and Commando Man so far, who will be announced next? Nano Man, from the computer stage.
Commando Man looks like a cross breed of Spark and Search Man.
In fact, I think I'll give some guesses on who the other RM's are.
The lava tower level= Inferno Man
The glacier level= Arctic Man
The sports arena= Sport Man
The castle stage= I think belongs to Commando Man
The computer zone= Nano Man
The sewer level= Sludge Man

Do we know whose robots these are? Last time it was Dr. Light's older creations, so I don't think it'll be the same thing again. I would certainly like to see Dr. Cossack return after his unexplained absence since 6. Heck, speaking of 6, the world robot tournament might work with this story.

I have a suspect, on this mysterious third playable character.
Dr. Light has Mega Man, Dr. Wily has Bass, who is there, to help represent Dr. Cossacks possible return in MM10.
Seriously, who is gonna stop the Doc in creating a new hero, to help Mega Man with the Robotenza out-break.
If not that, perhaps we may get either Bass or Duo as the third character. They both need official 8-bit look for the series.

Doesn't Bass already have one? Rockman and Forte WAS released on the wonderswan from what I remember.
Actually, the Wonderswan is a 16 bits system. It's hard to tell based on the original black & white screen, but it's true.
The closest we have to 8 bits sprites for both Bass and Duo is from the NeoGeo Pocket Color version of Rockman: Battle & Fighters. That's another 16 bits system, but the color depth looks like something out of the NES. In this specific case, though, the sprites were made to look similar to the arcade games.
A robot from Dr. Cossack is a possibility, especially since Capcom made a reference to him in ZX Advent. However, I would be surprised if that was the case: I expect the trio to be made of Mega Man, Proto Man and Bass.

It's all the X = MM10 theorists sobbing over the massive "eff you" that Capcom just gave them.
That said, as long as they don't out-stupid Plug Man, i'll have to buy a Wii so I can play this...or just wait until whatever Cashwhoring port Capcom sends to XBLA or PSN.
