Let's face it: things change.
We're now in 2011, after a whole decade of the Mega Man PC Website: Dr. Cossack's Lab alongside Interordi.com's presence on the Internet. The situation is not the same now as it used to be. Message boards are going on the wayside, and social networks are taking center stage. After considering the situation for a while, and weighting my options, I decided to work on something new for Mega Man fans and their friends. I thus present to you IOSoBo!!
IOSoBo (the Interordi Social Board) is a revamp of IOBoard, with several expanded features. The most obvious one is the Stream, which is now your entry point. You can share your thoughts in a centralized place, add your friends, then read all of their updates from a single location! It also presents to you your history, your recent actions, as well as the achievements that you and your friends earned.
Wait, Achievements? That's right! By participating on the board, you can now earn achievements. These get posted directly to your Stream while notifying your friends so you can proudly show that you're a contributing member of the community. Some of the achievements are clearly listed while others are hiding, waiting to be discovered. Try to find out what they are!
Of course, the classic discussion forums are still available! You can click on the "Forums list" link at the top, or on the "Groups" options in your news feed's navigation bar to reach them. To return to your Stream, click the IOSoBo logo at the top left of any page. Simple!
To make things more interesting and involving, a set of Games are now available to be enjoyed directly on IOSoBo! Interactive games, puzzles and board-centered activities are waiting for you to discover them! More will be added as time moves on, to make sure that you don't get bored.
In order to make the best use of the Stream, it's games, and the Achivements, you need to build up your list of friends! To do so, use the member list (link at the top) to search for the usernames of the people you want to add as friends. Then, on their profile page, click on the "Add to contacts" option. That's it! You'll then see the updates concerning those people displayed directly on your Stream. This means that you can be friend with someone without them friending you in return. You can also add someone while looking at their Stream, by clicking on the appropriate button.
For the initial setup period, you don't need to be approved by other people in order to have them added as friends. This will ensure that you can build your contact list as quickly as possible. Later on,steps will be added for people to remove themselves from your list if they want to protect their privacy.
More could be said on this new setup, but I'll let you find out how things changed. Browse around! Click! Explore! And share your thoughts on your Stream!
