I keep forgetting to ask: has anyone found chickens yet? I'd like to add some to my farm, but I've been out of luck so far.

I haven't played the game in a while so I dunno if its changed, but last I checked, chickens should be spawning regularly in the same locations that pigs and cows do.

That was true up to Beta 1.7. Starting with 1.8, animals (excluding the derpy squids) don't respawn anymore once killed. To compensate for that, animal breeding was introduced. The thing is, I need to find two chickens to get things going!
EDIT: Found some! I had to go out of my way, near the limits of what had been explored, but I managed to bring two back alive.

My boyfriend runs across them randomly, I am not sure. They also are always in his house (somehow) haha.
He has this mod in which you shoot a monster with an arrow and it turns into a chicken.
But he also plays creative mode, maybe they are different?
