The 2016 version of this long-running series involved a new, upside down world: up is down, down is up, bedrock on top, air below, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria!

Only a small spawn platform was provided, with a magical button granting Night Vision to everyone connected. This made it possible to actually see what's going on: with the ground located above, all sunlight is naturally blocked, 24 hours a virtual day. Of course, this didn't stop the appearance of mobs: all kind of evil things would spawn on any platform, including tree branches, making any kind of trek a dangerous one... especially with creepers blowing up potential platforms!

Falling down was common, and looking up would create a rather unique view as one was dropping to his doom. Everything would turn dark right before the end...

Sphenicus decided to spearhead an effort to create an outpost somnewhere. He eventually settled on a platform made out of the glowstone far below, at y=2. This ensured that the entire place was constantly lit and safe to work on. A few people eventually caught up with him to start farms and a few minor constructions.

People didn't travel all that far, probably because of the difficulty of navigating the terrain. One either needed to dig tunnels aboveground, or create bridges all over the place. Both tasks were difficult thanks to limited amount of food and iron to create better tools. The world was a full 2048x2048 blocks consisting of several biomes, including mesa, giant mushrooms and snowscape.

Not travelling much made people miss the two Easter eggs I had added. First, right on a corner of the world, was the USS Voyager waiting for new adventures. The off colors in the image are caused by the Night Vision effect.

I had also transplanted my home in there, which became "Dr. Cossack's Inverted Inverted Pyramid". I thought it fit the theme of the place quite well!

Now, for some numbers!

- 25 players jumped in (and down) during the day.
- A filled world of that size would consist of 1,073,741,824 blocks!
- Only a small area was really explored, about 10% of the total!
- 0 made it to the USS Voyager before midnight!

I'd been hoping to generate a render or show a detailed map of this place, but it's not really possible to get wide shots: everything is upside-down, and the tools are focused on standard map orientation, so I'm getting poor results overall. What I've got, however, is a schematic of the entire world. You can see it below with some very obvious features: Sphen's "giant angry maw", the USS Voyager, my pyramid, and even the letters that some of you found. They spell out the name of the world along with its author's name. Credit goes to Mageros on Planet Minecraft for this unique place!
