We have Java Edition game servers that are cross-compatible with Bedrock! It's possible for you to jump online with the Switch version, using the server play.creeperslab.net, with a bit of tuning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zalT_oR1nPM

I have, yes! The controls are a bit awkward, since the Minecraft engine was obviously not built for X-style gameplay, but it still handles pretty well. I was surprised at how much they could recreate parts of the game.
