I thought about something which made me kind of confused

you see, The Sigma Virus was created by

, but the robot was created by Dr. Cain...

how is it possible? why would Cain create a robot like the virus? it makes me confused...
please tell me what you think

Okay here is how it works out:

20XX:
Wily creates Zero and the virus.
Zero is infected with the virus by Wily.

21XX:
X is found, Reploids are created.
Sigma is created.
Some Reploids go maverick and the Hunters are created. Sigma becomes leader of the hunters.
Zero wakes up and goes on a rampage. Sigma fights him.
Sigma wins the fight but is infected by the virus after shattering the crystal on Zero\'s helmet.
Sigma goes maverick shortly thereafter and somehow the virus becomes dilluted and imprinted with Sigma\'s personality allowing Sigma to come back to life whenever he gets killed.

In X3, Doppler labels the Maverick virus the \'Sigma\' virus because he believed Sigma was the original carrier of the virus.

In X5 a virus is created that fuses with Sigma virus scattered all over the planet to return the virus to its original form. Since the virus had the same power readings as Zero, Alia calls it the \'Zero\' virus.

Cain did not create Sigma to be like the virus. After getting infected the virus became like Sigma (in his maverick state).
