Since the past two days your site has ben having those bandwidth problem. But I\'m still not sure if that\'s a good thing.. or a bad thing.. 
Like, it\'s really good that you\'re getting lots of visitors but then it would kill your bandwidth limit...
Actually the whole Interordi site was cut off too. How come?

I suppose you\'ve read the news on the front page. My latest stats of my hit counter are giving me an average of about 450 to 500 visitors everyday. I can\'t tell for now which section is the most visited, but I\'m sure that the MP3 section counts for a lot. What scares me too is the perspective of bringing back the Oekaki board. All those pictures that are loaded several times a day will add a lot of pressure on my site.
For now, I\'ve paid for an extra Gig so we can end this month without worrying too much. Also, starting by next month or the month just after that, I\'ll be given an extra 2 Gigs by my host. Will that be enough? I doubt it... I can always pay for more, but alternative solutions are nice too 
Just so you know, the whole Interordi.com site is mine. The Mega Man PC Website is just a subsection, and the bandwidth is for the whole domain. That means that it\'s all up or all down at once.

InactiveI\'ve got space on Angelfire, 150m, and 0catch I can share if you like, Doc. That\'s around 100-200 megs with 0catch and 150m I can share alone, I think. Anyhow, I can probably take things like fan art off your hands, but I don\'t know about CGI stuff. I do know I can take the lesser stuff though, upload it (Or give you the info to do that. :P) and help out that way. You can also have a donation program like Bob and George and 8-Bit Theater, with incentives to donate money for more bandwidth and things like that. Just some ideas.
I was waiting for someone to mention donations. The idea did cross my mind, but... Isn\'t it a bit lame to ask others to give me money so I can run my own site? I don\'t know, but I\'m not too fond of the idea...
Remote hosting is a possibility too, but the scripts will have to remain on my site: since they need to connect to my database to work, they can\'t be anywhere else but on my own server. The other stuff like the downloads can move without any major problems.

Could I just know roughly how much it costs to run a site? Is it really expensive or something that you can just get with a small ammount of pocket money?
I\'m not really asking how much it cost but just use words since your currency is different from mine.

There\'s a reason why I\'m now paying... I\'ll see how things will go for next month, and then I\'ll see. I might just pay for more bandwidth if it\'s a one-time fee (a couple of 5$ aren\'t that much if it\'s good for forever )

One way to play unfair is to create multiple acounts and upload everything till the limit of all of them. Since you can make unlimited accounts then heh
Most of the free hosters also don\'t let you have a direct link from one to another. Such as pictures and files.

Unlimited doesn\'t exist... Some web hosts are bragging about offering it, but there is always a limit somewhere. Sometimes, it\'s insane the difference of what \"unlimited\" means to us and to them...

They can\'t be? Come on, that\'s just an excuse not to work (like what my vb instructor said.) Remember, you\'re working with data, it can be manipulated in many ways. I just recovered a broken image file into a jpeg for my cousin.

Hehe Man I have also lots of unused web space ab 350mb. Since I removed my Mm stuff and I bought another domain Iīve had 400mb. And both sites have 3gig bandwith. Well itīs good thing that I donīt need to worry about things youīll have to (since my site isnīt that popular )

Well, the two downtimes we had this week were kinda my fault. I knew I was going to ran out of bandwidth soon, so I sent an e-mail requesting more. Now, I don\'t quite know what happened, but my e-mail never reached my host. The day after that, first downtime. I posted on the forums of my host asking why I never got an answer, and they gave me a temporary 500 Meg to keep going until I would get the extra 2 Gigs I requested. Two days later, second downtime. I sent another e-mail to my host, with my backup e-mail address, and they acted in a matter of minutes.
The moral of the story: from now on, I\'ll send all such e-mails from my backup e-mail address, and we shouldn\'t have any problems anymore.

AAHHH! 
The opening of the oekaki board had a bad effect on my bandwidth. I knew it was going to suck up a lot of it, but it looks like that my bandwidth usage has DOUBLED, and that\'s only after 5 days of opening! How will that look in two months, when it gets a more \"regular\" flow of users? That\'s going to cost me so much...

Just a question...
How come your site didn\'t have problems like this in \'the old days\'? Ya know, back before the crash. Because whatever it is, you should take down whatever is eating all this bandwidth, even if it is the oekaki.
People keep saying it\'s the mp3s though..even though I don\'t see them.. Guess I\'m blind. o.o

I didn\'t had to monitor my bandwidth before the crash since I was on a different server. It was an older machine where my host had less control over things like that, and they couldn\'t know if I was overdoing my limit. They didn\'t really cared anyway, since that server was less use than this one.
Now, since the move, both I and them can know exactly the stats usage of my website. That\'s why I have to care about bandwidth now, while I didn\'t had to before. Hope that makes sense.
