I don\'t like GBA SP. i tried my friends and it doesn\'t feel right. The screen is smaller and everything and who needs the light? i just use a wormlight.

they already have chargable batteries in GBA. my cousion has some.

well since the topic has already been bumped up i\'ll say something. The GBA sp is a good fu**ing console the screen is bigger than the GBA\'s it has a backlit screen and rechargeable batteries. I like it so much that i bought one when i was on Holidays.

I just bought a GBA SP, so I\'d like to add a few things:

1) The screen is the same size. XD It doesn\'t look that way because of the proportions.

2) Yes, the L and R buttons ARE small, but surprisingly enough, it doesn\'t hinder gameplay any. The other buttons DO feel a little tight, but you get used to it. The Star and Select buttons are a bit awkwardly placed, though, and combined with the fact that they\'re more flattened, it makes them a pain to hit at times.

3) Those worm lights are NO substitute for the light in this thing. I had a wormlight for my old GBA, and the light that thing gave off didn\'t help very much. Those things basically hit the center of the screen, leaving the outer portion of the screen bathed in a dim light. Oh, and it decided to break. =P The GBA SP\'s backlight covers the whole screen perfectly; not one inch is left untouched.

4) The rechargable batteries are a godsend. I don\'t know about you, but I HATE having to buy another $5 pack of batteries every two weeks or so. The batteries do NOT come fully charged, though, so you have to charge it for about two hours. you can play it while it\'s plugged inot the charger, though; it just takes longer to charge.

Frankly, it\'s worth the extra $40 (or is it $30?) if you want better lighting and a better power source. But basically, it isn\'t a necessary upgrade, so I don\'t see the need to bash it and call it a \"piece of s#%@.\"

personally, i think the regular GBA is better because, it is exactally like the GBC in the sense that it is tall, and might i add, very hard to hold properly... i say the GBA is best, but that is just me... i guess if you want something x-tremely small stuffed into your pockect, then the GBA SP might be good for you.

Not to mention a built-in light

I have a different kind of light it, came with some kind of accessories bundle pack. I think it was made by madcats. It connects to the top of the GBA, has a switch to turn the light on and off and a knob to dim or brighten the light. Plus it folds down over the screen to protect the screen while you are not playing.

and it comes in a pack with ac adaptor plugs and a cloth to clean the screen

I\'d say THAT makes up for the GBASP advantages

Also you can buy rechargeable batteries and battery chargers

The GBAsp is better for light because you choose wether to put the light on or not by just pushing a button and not by put a big case around the GBA! and the fact about the rechargeable is that you don\'t have to by batteries and a recharger for it as well! all inclued in the price!! You can buy all that stuff for $10! so you basicly paid like $110. GBASP is too expensive

Game boy Sp is not the best thing around. Just sit and read all of these posts. there is more people who hate it thatn there is people who like it.

When i was on Holidays i got a GBA SP for 55 Euros which is about £30 and it was a perfectly normal GBA SP and had nothing wrong with it. So if you want a GBA SP and your going to Spain for a holiday get one.

I think gameboy advance is the best . Sure, with SP you can play it the dark with the push of a button, but that\'s what the gameboy advance wormlight is for and you can\'t use your headphones in an SP which if you ask me, is really, really dumb. Say you were in your car on a family road trip and your bro {or sis} wants to listen to the radio a its so loud that you can\'t hear a thing from your GBA. That\'s why you need the headphones.

GBASP is absolutely worth it. The rechargeble battery will spoil you. You\'ll never be able to buy a handheld that requires you to batteries. Also, it isn\'t a back-light screen that the GBASP has, it\'s a side-light screen(meaning that the lights are on the side). It\'s also back-ward compatible with all GB games(unlike the DS). Sure it\'s small and all, but it fits in your pocket, right? That\'s what handhelds are for. So quit whinning about it!

The Sp requires a hook-up to use headphones,i\'v seen it.

The GBA SP IS WORTH IT! Wormlight! No offense but I hate it the light is weak and gets in the way of the screen! I also relized the battery thing, I hated waiting to play my GBA for batteries! And like in one of the posts before you\'ll get used to it, now when I play GBA it feels big.(Yes, when I first got my SP it felt small) And it is way more portable. The GameBoy SP rocks! Shiny, so true!:lol:
