Anyways the one the popular theories is that Zero did it (I have serious doubts about this one but I won\'t ge into that right now).

It\'s more likely that the malfunction he wouldn\'t let Dr. Light fix killed him though.

I remember him not letting Light fix him from somewhere.

I think it was either in the Power Fighters or the Power Battles. Never played them since they didn\'t come out on a console. They were arcade games that let you choose to play as Megaman, Protoman, or Bass. In one of them you could also use Duo.

He eventually gets the bug fixed by Wily...

That\'s part of the reason why Wily wouldn\'t fix Protoman, except maybe to reprogram him to kill Megaman, since Protoman backstabbed Wily by rescuing Kalinka Cossack and taking her home. Further eveidence of why Protoman wouldn\'t go to Wily has to do with that whole frame job in MM5. I think it\'s pretty safe to say that if Protoman wouldn\'t let Dr. Light repair the energy imbalance then he wouldn\'t trust Dr. Wily to do it. He would probably let Light do it if he let anyone fix him. Unless Dr. Cossack winds up repairing him.

But he didn\'t let Light fix him. The only person I can think of is Cossack fixing him. Unles another solution presents itself.

Dont know why... Maybe he wanted to live but.... Wily fixed him and gave him an alegence chip, which made him loyal... Then Wily made it look like Protoman kidnapped Dr. Light... Protoman broke his alegence chip then gave Wily the payback...

Actually after MM3 Wily never got anywhere near Protoman. Wily did create a cheap ripoff called Darkman to kidnap Dr. Light in MM5. But the real Protoman unmasked the imposter and freed DR. Light. Wily created the clone and framed protoman for the kidnapping because Protoman rescued Kalinka Cossack from his fortress in MM4 and took her home so that her father would stop doing what Wily wnated by trying to kill Megaman. The closest to Protoman Wily gets again is in Megaman and Bass.

I dunno. My theory may be a little overused, but I think that Zero killed them all. Rockman, Roll, Light, Wily, Blues. Just me maybe. I dont think Blues would get ihmself killed in his pride....actually he just might. I\'m all confused now!

Zero is supposed to be the first Maverick, so perhaps Zero TRIED to kill Protoman and failed, then Protoman went Maverick, did the Blues Strike and all the Mega Man characters go boom except Zero( who is too 1337 to be hurt:cool: ) and X, who is protected by Light\'s refrigerator.

Here\'s my new theory. Duo somehow gets infected by the evil energy he\'s trying to destroy and goes insane. He comes to Earth and takes out the original cast and is destroyed in the process. Wily colects the remaining evil energy after the battle to make the Zero virus, but he dies before activating Zero.

Has\'nt it occured to anybody that protoman is\'nt dead? Megaman and bass is the latest chapter in the original series...And i\'m sure protoman did\'nt die...So this topic is kinda pointless...Case in point: Protomans alive!:zzz:

What do you mean Wily died before activating Zero? In the Power Fighters or Power Battles(forgot which) there is a scene where you see Zero\'s shadow in a mirror!
