I have barely heard of the EXE cartoon, and I haven\'t heard of any other ones other than the American MM cartoon, so I\'ll comment on American cartoon here.
I do know that most of the cartoon episodes from seasons 1 and 2 are online and can be seen at

. (I hope I didn\'t do anything wrong by posting that site. It looks legit, I\'m pretty sure it is, and I personally blow off copyright laws to stuff that doesn\'t really matter anymore, but I don\'t want to get in trouble.)
Despite the differences between the plot of the games and the plot of the cartoon, the cartoon was pretty good overall. Maybe I\'m thinking that because I saw the cartoon before I discovered the plot of the games, and it\'s rather interesting to see how so many of you who have played the games and THEN seen the show reacted differently from the way I reacted.
I think the animation was quite good. Notable bad ideas were Mega Man\'s arm muscles (not his torso front, though; that actually looked fine and acceptable to me) and most of MMX\'s appearance. But I actually preferred MM\'s appearance here over his appearance in the games or on their boxes/manuals/etc.. Maybe that\'s a consequence of me seeing the cartoon first, but...
I would have been a lot more impressed, though, if they used the stage music of the various non-regular (i.e. not Proto Man, Cut Man, or Guts Man) robot masters during the show. But the music isn\'t bad at all.
I know that Proto Man is actually supposed ot be a good guy, but making him the evil \"brother\" of Mega Man makes for a very nice plot element to work with.
Some voice acting was good (e.g. \"Sizzling circuits! I forgot about Dive Man!\"), but other voice acting was bad (e.g. MM announcing his \"REALLY BIG\" piece of the meteor crystal in the Red Gulch episode). Also, some episodes were rather nice (or \"less painful\", as Mandi Paugh of the MMHP calls them, as I remember), while others were not as well-done. The Curse of the Lion Men wasn\'t as bad as I thought, though, and there were worse moments (e.g. de-evolution of robots in the Robosaur Park episode).
Overall: Quite an interesting show. Not the best, but I enjoy watching it. I used to wake up on Sunday (was it that or Saturday?) mornings enthusiastically awaiting the Mega Man cartoon.
