BowlMan refers to Serenade as a guy. Several of the other ranked navis that you defeat also refer to Serenade as \"Him\". That\'s good enough for me.
Besides, looking at that picture... if Serenade was a girl. Wouldn\'t \"she\" have... you know... breasts?
EDIT:
Plus, from what I know, the word \"Serenade\" is like that thing where a MAN sings to his beloved at night in an attempt to win her affections. Or something like that. So yeah, the word itself is male-related.

well if you want to get all technical with it, a serenade is a light-hearted love song (usually sung by men, but more often bards or minstrels, back when serenades were popular). And just because Capcom of America can\'t seem to grasp the concept of putting both time and effort into translating one game, doesn\'t mean there has to be some sort of arguement about the navi\'s gender.

Well i think serenade is a chick kuz if she were a guy, i should think of him as a really cool looking navi, not like an every day pun lady that were those ridiculous robes!
Well i\'ve been on the site Ciel Network and when you go to character bios Serenade is listed there. And if you don\'t already know Ciel Network is all about the girls from megaman.
So I think Serenade is a girl.
Lewa: OMG! Look at that cute little green bug!

Lewa: I'm gonna call him Mr.Squishy!

Sorry to have to bring the Matrix movie up but in the first movie Neo talks to Trininty in the club. And Neo says but your a girl which Trinity responds to as Yeah alot of ppl think I\'m a guy. Because if you remember Neo heard the story of a person taking down a huge base and he put the tag on Trinity as a man. Now asuming(sp?) that in the net a story of a mysterious Serenade defeating navi after navi, it could be easily said that \"How could he do that\" or something very similar. Or sorry for this being so long. Have any of you ever played the Chinese phone game. A whole bunch of ppl sit at a table and one person tells a story to the person next to him and it goes around and by the time the story gets back to you it is totally different. This could have also happened. But I believe that Seranade is a girl but you will believe only what you want to and I can not change that. Wow I sounded just like my mom.
in USA serenade is a guy but in japan serenade is a girl

Ok I think it\'s a guy now cause I mean he\'s the king of the undernet not the queen I mean capcom whouldn\'t say he\'s a king for no reason...Or whould they?:conf:

Okay, it\'s been a while since I\'ve been to this topic, but I feel I must say something that a lot of people don\'t seem to get: Capcom can make mistakes! No human is infalible! In other words, CoA messed up the translation on a number of occasions. Why didn\'t they notice? Here\'s my theory: Americans are obssesed with getting things done quickly (except for major construction projects). CoA probably never noticed the errors until it was too late, if they ever did, that is.
Now, all of you are free to continue to argue, I\'m sorry, debate this topic all you want.

ill tell you that japanime has created some really weird characters.....not naming any specifically so an angry mob of the fans of the charater on kenshin come after me......so nobody knows for sure, unless they talked to the character designer, or heard it from someone who heard it from someone who heard it from someone who was told by the cd......
heloo serenade is a guy didn\'t u read the messages on the game.lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my f****god....
When the h*** will everyone understand? When? My guess is NEVER.
Just because a game says something doesn\'t mean its true.
If you have played the Japanese game, or read Koro Koro, you will find out that Serenade is a she. The American game is screwed up because lazy ass translatorrs won\'t take an extra 10 minutes to actually look at the original games context.

I think serenades a hemafrodite.;D;D

Ummm...just something that i\'ve been thinking about. Serenade is refered to as the King of the Net yet he/she looks like a girl. I\'m thinking that not to many have seen Serenade in the Cyberworld so they just asume that she\'s a guy and call her the King.
What are you\'re thoughts?
Just look at her:
What do you think?
Girl? Guy? None? Both? Or no thoughts?

::gasps for air after reading the first seven pages of this topic:: That . . .::gasp:: . . . was . . . ::gasp:: quite time consuming.
Anyway, to be honest, I am not completely sure of Serenade\'s gender. That is, Capcom of Japan did specify Serenade to be female and I am not doubting them. However, I am wondering if Serenade was purposely androgenous. That is, maybe Serenade\'s creators intended for him/her to be of indefinate gender. Thus the Japanese Capcom refers to Serenade as a female and Capcom of America referring to Serenade as a \"he\". Another possibilty I found is that Capcom of America chaged Serenade to being male simply because it was possible and fit the cultural differences. These are, however, only theories. :: shrugs::
