There\'s a rumor going around that Zero is actually Protoman and did the same thing as X. Now, personally I\'m sceptical but \'m not sure. Could someone shed some light on this?

Is protoman made by Dr.Wily? If so then maybe he was an early model that lead up to Zero . Chances are that Zero was constucted by Wily so this would make sense.

Evil Kitty, Protoman is the proto-type of Megaman. Dr. Light created him. Zero is some
new war machine to help Dr. Wily rule the world. With blonde here, Bass must sure be jelouse. Zero shed his virus onto Sigma and became a maverick hunter. Odd, I don\'t know exactly how itt happened, but I do know it has to do with being punched in his fore-crystal.
So, It couldn\'t be Protoman. Besides, why would Protoman help Megaman if he was evil?
The point of this technical story line, is to say
Zero has absolutly nothing to do with Protoman!

1. Protoman was the a robot, created by Dr. Light, along with his assistant, Dr. Wily. However, after Protoman\'s completion, Dr. Wily stole Protoman, along with the six robot masters, Cutman, Gustman, etc.

2. Protoman is NOT evil. If you\'d notice, Protoman appears in several MM games, normally, testing MM and helping him out at times. He\'s really just a nice guy trying to help out his little bro.

3. PROTOMAN IS NOT ZERO!!!

Megaman and Protoman are brothers, making Protoman the older one.
But thats not important... like Megaman was found by Dr. Cain and transformed into X.
Protoman was found by Mavericks was was tranformed into Zero[I have proofs, just see Megaman X4 when Zero found Sigma in the Final Weapon(It doesn\'t prove that protoman and Zero are the same person I read that in some where else, I can\'t remember where tought)].
But before that in the Megaman. EXE series there was a fusion of Zero and his proto shield and Protoman. EXE was created

Well, we have to remember that not all things are based on eachother. We don\'t say every Giant Mecha anime series is based on \"Gigantor\" do we? It\'s because people have different ideas. Insperation changes often. Just because Wily built Protoman and Zero doesn\'t mean they have to be the same thing. That is just as correct as saying AirMan is the futuristic WindMan. Though they may be similar ideas, they are different.

Zero and his Proto Sheild? Do you mean Zero, Zero.EXE, or Megaman Zero? There is a great number of Zeros. And also, Zero.EXE existed at the same time as ProtoMan.EXE in the Transmission game, so he couldn\'t have fused with anything to create Zero...:conf:

Protoman is not Zero. MMBN is an alternate Universe that has no bearing on the main timeline. Either way, Zero is already in the Series anyways negating that statement

Besides, even in MMBN, Zero and Protoman are not the same person. There is a seperate Navi for each. Protoman is Chaud\'s Navi, and Zero is a virus program created to harness a portion of the power of the LifeVirus, as well as forbidden backup files...

All I know is:

ZERO IS NOT PROTOMAN.

if Bn goes to BNX, then maybe Protoman will fuse with the virus to become Zero EXE, and Mega wil become X. We don\'t know which way Battle network will go. However, as far as the X series goes, Zero is not Protoman

Did Capcom really say Zero hasn\'t previously existed in the Battle Network series? If it\'s official, I guess I\'m inclined to go with it. But, in my own opinion, I say it is undeniable that Capcom has already introduced him into the Magaman games.

Though, I won\'t try to argue with the official report, if it truly is official.

They haven\'t said a word, but one theory says that the Zero virus never became a Navi but a benign virus. So...

Ok, I guess I must admit, there is a possibility that there will be a Zero.EXE in future BN games, as you are correct when you say that the Zero virus was never a Navi. So I guess it\'s possible...

But I sure hope they won\'t. It would just be so confusing. And while I don\'t appose the current Zero, or Megaman Zero, I will say that I believe they\'ve done enough with him in the Battle Network series.
