It\'s completely obvious to me now that you don\'t know very much about Spider-Man and if you\'ve even read any of the comics it must have been very little. No one is actually reads the comics would even contest that Venom is in the same league as Norman Osborn.
Spoiler (click to toggle)
Back in the 1970s(I\'ve read reprints), Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin at the time, became obsessed with trying to defeat Spider-Man. He eventually followed Spider-Man one day without Spidey knowing that he was really there, and found out that his nemesis was none other than his son\'s college roomate, Peter Parker. The goblin couldn\'t beat Spider-Man, but Parker he could. It eventually lead to the famous bridge scene, which has appeared in the movie and 90s cartoon, albeit edited. In the original comics, Peter Parker wasn\'t always in love with only Mary-Jane. The first love of Peter Parker\'s life was a Miss Gwen Stacy; she was someone Peter loved more than anyone and still cherishes her memory to this day. Like what happened to MJ, Gwen was kidnapped and taken to the bridge. She too, was thrown off. Spidey tried to save her by catching her with a web, but when the web caught her foot the sudden stop was too much and Gwen\'s neck snapped. Spider-Man publically got the blame for her death, which he blamed himself for. But Norman was the reason it happened. Norman was the driving factor in the death of the first woman Peter Parker loved.
Like in the movie, Norman did get impaled by his glider eventually and it was believed that he died.
However, Norman resurfaced during the clone saga of the 90s(which was horrible), which was again, something of his doing. The whole scheme was just a sick game to him. The storyline ended with MJ having a miscarriage due to Norman\'s influence(or he stole their baby, Marvel never looked back after the storyline ended. For good reason) and killed Peter\'s clone, Ben Reilly, who was like a brother to Peter kinda.
That\'s not all. Norman has also tried to brainwash Peter Parker into becoming his sucessor as the Green Goblin.
And last year, Norman Osborn used some drugs on Peter\'s childhood friend Flash Thompson and made him drive into the school where Peter works. As a result, Flash is now a vegetable.
Please tell me what on earth Venom has even done that\'s close to touching what Norman Osborn has done to Peter Parker. Venom is a cool character who has unfortunately been misused too many times. He never became the villain he could have been, and never came close to being the number one villain like many thought he would be. The Green Goblin is the greatest enemy of Spider-Man.
