I used to be one of these people. I sometimes revert back but I try not to because when I come out of it, I realize what a complete <synonym for cat> I'm being.

From my experience, they do it for the attention that they get. For thinking outside the box and thinking inside the goth box. It's not the same box but it's still a <profanity>ing box! They accomplish this feat very well though. I mean walking down the street, you can't help but stare a little longer at a pasty white kid with completely black everything and not think "Holy Jebus, what's up with that?" (or something to that extent)

I'm from the great Canada too, bitch! ...okay I'm not, but I defend them enough to be.

Anyways..

PREACH IT, BRUTHA WIND. I'm tired of these kids nowadays who have nothing better to do than try to get attention desperately. People think they need help, or are genuinely depressed..but you know, I just think 80% of them are following the goth fad and make believe in their head that they're depressed.

And the cutting. Oh god the cutting. They cut themselves and proudly display it to everyone. "Oh lookie, I'm sad about Brian so I put my 15th cut on my left wrist." Now, I know there are people who cut themselves for pain release, I'm one of them. It's ashame too, because people who are actually in need of help (possibly) are obscured by the annoying attention whores or grouped with them.

It's the same with depression. Some people do suffer from it, and need help. But the aforementioned posers obscure that fact..and when someone mentions they're depressed, they're usually blown off.

I hope this damned fad dies soon.

And word of note.. A pale white kid wearing black everything does not automatically denote goth. It could mean that said pale white kid just likes the color black. And he's a sexy mamma jamma and knows it.

I've worn all black since uhh..well, it's been a while. Since I was 12 I think.

Especially those Goths. Or at least the ones who think that wearing all black makes them as such. Those ones are the more funnily depressing ones, the ones who worry about getting a girlfriend or something as such.

And like Hollow said, this damn fad of being depressed has to stop. I'm a true blue depression case, and to whoever is reading this: IT'S NOT FUN YOU STUPID FUCKS! Some days I feel like just not doing anything. NOTHING AT ALL. Then I get mopy. Then I don't eat, then I do absolutely nothing about it until I fall asleep and wake up wanting to kill myself.

If you're doing it to get attention, then guess what? The only attention you'll be getting is the business end of a needle because you have a false mental problem, and those people are usually locked up and screwed by the messed up security staff.

Me, on the other hand, have been credited for being so mature. Most people think I'm an old senior visiting the school when they talk to me. @@

But that's besides the point. Whoever complains about their life or complains about not being a complete LOSER should be dragged out into the street and made to listen to themselves whining. Hopefully they'll open their eyes and go off and ask someone to shoot them or something.

It's people like this that make school funny, but movies look normal compared to their melodramatic ways.[/font]

Because by all means, I applaud this tactic.

He's acting depressed lately, saying he's lost his stride and doesn't know what he is anymore, and that FLCL only provides a 'quick' fix before he just loses it again.

It's pathetic. He's such a damned hypocrit because he doesn't follow his own damned doctrine about accepting life and taking it as it comes.

Pathetic. And he expects ME to take his place as one of the Bigs? HAH!!!!

People are so unstatisfied with their own lives, simply because they aren't getting the amount of attention that they seek. They're just sulky, that's all.

Some where black simply because some goths DO do it, but they aren't really gothic. This is all merely a cry for attention stemming from their inner childhood of lack of attentionnessnesness......yeah.

That's my theory on all of it. Personally, I think they're all just stupid. They'll get over it....either that, or they don't.

If they don't....oh well.

First of all, I'm shy. I know that. I was kidding about being offended. I do that a lot. If I'm truly offended then I might not make jokes.

Scary thing is I was at that stage in real life (not the clothes bit, but the act depressed because of the "I'm not allowed to go the supermarket" deal. (not really I know, but thats the point)

Nowadays, I'm going to take things at my stride. Back to the depression, I have had periods when I was depressed because I was choking myself in my sterile school prison of my own mental creation...leaving it was what got me of my feet.

I'm not to blame....I'm from Canada.


And yeah, I really dont like those stupid people..(Even though I've only seen them on T.v...heh...)From what I've seen, I would suppose they want to grow up a criminal or something. I would Probably want to go up to them and say "F**k you and get a stupid life!"

Heh, so Kei has pulled another 'faye' huh?

Granted, I'm sure he's done this loads of times in the past. But it's not my place to judge.

What I think however, is that:

People are too stupid to realize that there isn't anything wrong with them at all. It's all a 'tragic cry for attention', or as Kei words it: "They're just being stupid.".

I actually had an open discussion about this topic with my friends at home (don't ask why). Most of my friends dress up in black, listen to heavy metal, Goth and sometimes satanist music (rearly). They wear spikes and colores their hair black. But what I found interesting is that they agree with everything written in Winds starter post.

They fully agree that winers like the ones you describe should realise that they could actually CHANGE the things they comlain about. I live a county where the Goth trend is one of the biggest movements of this decade. There are all kinds of effects of this trend, but most people I know are not your steriotype "wining blackdressed wanabe".

I wear black allmost every day but its not becouse I am into it, its simply cos black is an easy acsessory color. Black is simply just a nice color and therefore, people use it. (ok, a bit off topic there, back to the subject)

Nobody likes a winer. I know loads of people that paint their faces black and white to get as much attention as possible. Some dress up in ballay scirts and fishing hats just to look interesting. A friend of mine told me of some wierdo wanting to have a cut groupe, just becouse he thought she looked like a satanist since she wore a black robe.

Some tend to judge by appearance while the real lumuxes roam around. I'll quote my motto: "Down with vulgar stupidety"

Yes, as sas as it seems, being a Goth has become a fasion statement. Being depressed gets you attention, for all the wrong reasons, and stupid little idiots are claiming to be suicidal becuse they think you have to be in order to enter Hot Topic.

I'm not saying that there arent people out there who really are this way, and are great, spiffy, and jingle when they walk, but the number of people posin' has become attrochios...man I need spelling check.

But as it stands, people think that being cool means being goth or prep or jock. Gone is the day when being funny, smart, and goodlookin' was enough...now you need to be well versed in Korn and wear black...and oh yeah, drown yourself in spontaniously generated sorrow.

I agree with WindRider~ on every count. Things are getting out of control.

You should see the Summer People. They come along, and walk normally. All of a sudden, they see a mob of Corey Tetro, Jacob Trundy and those wannabes. They will run off. I would too! They are freaks!

Corey Tetro: Face covered in piercings. Parents don't give a shit what happens to him. He gets in trouble, they could care less. Here are a bunch of words that I use to describe him.

Gothic Queer, Bull, Loser, and oh so many more. I just won't go there. It won't be the right thing to say on the public board. But I will say, he has a nose ring, 2 eye brow rings, a tongue ring, 1 or 2 lip rings, buttons in his be ear lobes, lots of ear rings, big holes, blah blah blah blah....He looks like an idiot who doesn't care about himself. He totally ruined his face. And I have to look at him everyday......He should not be aloud in school like that......
