I guess i\'ve been bitten buy the posting bug reacantly, but I\'ve gotten so much feedback here, unlike where I live where nobody knows what manga is. I guess I can trust you guys enough to post work that I\'ve... well....... worked with.

I have realiced that my drawing style has (against my will) shifted in a sort of manga/realistic way. So I thought \"what the hey!\" and tried some actuall manga. The result was this girl that took me about 5 minutes:

Then, i decided to colour it. It took me 3 days to do since I used the same program that was used on Duo.exe (other topic) And here is the finished result:

Now the question is, is this any good or should I just stop now....

You should go for it but I would advise that you master the head proportions a little more before you proceed. It\'s not that you\'re doing something wrong (maybe it is, I\'m not completely sure) but there\'s something about the placement of the facial features that\'s not quite right (to me). It looks good and if you do a manga I\'m sure it\'ll turn out super fantastic but if you wanted the most bang out of your buck, I\'d practice a tiny tiny bit more.

Hehe, well thing is I actually did draw it in pencil. Nothing was edited on it eather (not referring to colored picture though).

I just have to mention (since I forgot to) to say that the I didn\'t really put any whaight on the pose. The plan was that if I got a good responce to this one, I could make a new one with more thought into it. Feal free to come up with suggestions for a new picture.

Awesome shading for something done in pencil.
The only thing not great is the placement of the nose, though thats only if you were going for realism there its ok for a mangaish feel.

Traced something?!! Haha, no. I have never traced anything in my life. Mostly since i don\'t think you develop your own veiw or trecnique. Just to set it straight: I have not used, or ever will use a \"How to draw manga\" book. Just had to say

I really hope you\'re just doing the manga for fun. No offence meant. I just think you need years more of practice before you can get to publishable manga status.

And oh, it\'s not manga, it\'s doujinshi. But I guess manga is easier to type.

You have a good grasp on the anime style, you do. But..starting from the top.

The head is abit too large for the body. And also, her face is abit too wide for being a female. The eyes are great, no need to change them. Might want to add another highlight in the eye though, since she\'s a girl. They have shiny eyes.

The eyebrows are misaligned..but I suppose she\'s making a worried/confused expression? If she was making that expression though, the mouth wouldn\'t be a smile I\'d think.. I mean, it -could- be a smile, but then you\'d probably add a sweatdrop to make it work. The hair doesn\'t look like hair..you need to give it abit more body. It\'s a little flat on the left, looks like it\'s pasted onto her head.

I like that nose though..haven\'t seen one like it before. The neck is WAY too thick for a female. And usually with females in anime, the veins in the neck aren\'t shown. I personally add the veins but..just saying. The collar bone looks alittle low..great arm and shoulders though. The chest isn\'t bad..

You need to add some more clothing folds in her shirt and pants, though. Should observe fabrics and how they fall..even though that\'s boring. The pants are pretty undefined..look unfinished and just slapped on at the last minute. I don\'t know how old this girl is, but she needs more curves in her waist and hips.. If she\'s like, 14 or so though, she won\'t have curves yet anyway. The umm..hair in general looks like Zero\'s, now that I notice.

Anyways, you don\'t have to take any of what I said into consideration..it\'s just my opinion, not concrete. =)

Edit: Doh, this was for the uncolored version. Didn\'t see the color until after. But you don\'t seem to need help with coloring, that looks pretty nice..

Well, you mad some good points there Hollow, but like I said, it\'s more of a for taste of what I\'ll make later on. I knew most of what you wrote allready but I thought I\'d just post it anyways .

This was really only something I drew for fun, I didn\'t give her any pose. By making a different stance I could fix most of your pointer, but for some reason or another, I didn\'t think about making anything dramatic. I don\'t usually make pictures this dull.... I promise if I ever made a new one, it would\'nt be a simple top down picture.

It seemes people have gotten the impression I\'m going to make an entire manga. This might be something I could do as a long term project, but I have no time to make a full length one at this point. Sorry. However, if you have any suggestions for what I could make, feal free to post.

To Guttermouth: I know I wrote I would have the \"project\" finished within a day, but this little thing kind of took up most of my time. I have a few skeches though. I\'ll finish as soon as possible.

Like I said, I used the same program I used on Duo.exe: Painter Classic. It\'s an old program and lacks most of the normal tools like selecting and mediums.

I just go a PM about what the manga is about and hopefully you all read the post above where I stated that there won\'t be a manga. But your posts has got me thinking. Do you really think I should make one? I had no real plans to make one but you seem to like the idea... what are your thoughts?

I don\'t really have much to add except that you seemed to have gimped her right arm while coloring....
