No need to put critics in quotes, either. The people who critique pictures there usually know what they\'re talking about, and I enjoy it when they critique me personally. When they critique, they are only trying to help people.
Now I understand a comment of \"The hair looks ugly\" being frowned upon, but I usually don\'t see anyone make comments like that..
I agree with hollow for the most part, I wouldn\'t comment a picture if it wasn\'t in the intention of helping the artist. Just writing \"UGLY!\" or \"Ooohh, pretty!\" Isn\'t going to help much, allthough some nice words are encouraging, like in Pocket\'s case where there were little comment at all (as faar as I know)

I prefer the message board. At least my topics aren\'t -usually- pushed down by 10 stupid topics in a matter of a day. Most of you don\'t know how it is to draw something for 2 hours or more (especially since the new rage at oekaki\'s seems to be \"how fast can I draw\") and get it pushed down by scribbles.
Another thing that brings the Oekaki down, many artists at the board often sit for more that 3 hours with one picture (I have an avarige of 5 hours) and all that hard work is dumped off the page the next day by 5 other people who made a 10 minute skech, claim they don\'t know how to draw and expects praise for that fact.
Of course, people are, as faar as I am concerned, more than welcome to polish their drawing skills, but there is a limit to how faar you can strech this. If you don\'t put effort into it, your not trying to learn anything.
I guess I\'ve been talking for too long again... To sum it up; I think I prefeer the message board, but it is really hard to compare the two. The Message board is for social discussian and the other for drawing, I can honestly say that the Oekaki applet is an exelent drawing program, but all the site/login bugs and scribble artists makes it a hard desission.
I\'ll let you rest your eyes now
