Is it me or is it that we are getting jipped?
I mean, when we buy a new computer its like \"state of the art\" 3 months later its obsolete technology and we gotta buy another one?
post your ideas on the matter here

It\'s sad... the constant moving cycle of evolution and progression... things that do not move and are untampered with never seem to get better. I guess, if you think about it, upgrading is quite literally the way of the future, right?
That is the way that it has to be... thus it is and it is thus. And thus. And this. :conf:

Deal with it, if that didn\'t happen technolidgy would advance at a snails pace. You don\'t need to buy every little thing. Hell, don\'t buy any new parts until your computer breaks down on you if you don\'t want to.

Yea....But isnt it upsetting that they keep us in a perpetual buying mode like that?....especially with gamers
I think it\'s actually kind of good. The alternative is us playing the same games over and over and over....
I mean, if no new systems and junk came flying onto the shelves, we\'d never make any progress. I think we\'d probably have junk like \"Street Fighter II Turbo/Hyper/Director\'s cut v2\", at least.:lol:
Not that there was anything wrong with SFII.:D;

The idea here is that the whole obsolecense thing is planned. They probably have much more advanced computers already made, but they\'re waiting until a few years pass to release it so they can make some cash.
Same thing with VG systems. The reason they didn\'t make them backwards compatable is so they can make some more money. Not to mention that they make the new systems to actually produce a fan base as well as product loyalty. It works, too, because I\'m a Nintendo fanboy all the way...and I have no clue why.
But like I said, they already have the technology for five years from now, they just release it when the market presents itself.
Business is a nasty thing.
Reality swirled in a wholly blue manner, revealing absolutely nothing of merit. Things flashed madly in and out of existence like some entirely other sort of phenomena. On a whim, Kurt Vonnegut imploded, taking a sizeable hunk of Massachusetts with him. However, seeing as Massachusetts wasn't entirely sure it existed, the chunk wasn't all that big.

Hush. Don\'t tell me the SNES could have been backward compatible with the NES, especially since the size of the cartridges is far from being the same. The whole possibility of backward compatibility in game consoles is actually a pretty recent thing, and it worked well for both the PS2 and the various GameBoy systems. There are various technical issues to consider, too.
As far as computers are concerned, I have the feeling that the rate at which you need to get a new system actually slowed down. We purchased a new home computer almost a year ago, and it\'s performances are still comparable to what is being sold right now. That\'s definitely nice.
