Since I joined interordi a little while ago I have seen milder profanities on the board but didn\'t think to say anything about it. But ever since I saw AirMan say the f-word it has really been bothering me. And I think that we should try to refrane from swearing on this board. And if you have to swear do it somewhere else and not hear. I know some of the people are older on this board but I mean there are other people who are like in 5th or 6th grade. I am now in 8th grade but when I joined I was in 6th grade or something. So please if you have to swear either open up a ms word document and swear in their or say it but not on the computer. I don\'t think I am the only one that is offended when a fellow member swears. I don\'t know what you guys or Doctor Cossack thinks but this is my personal opinion.

P.S. Remeber the topic \"are kids corrupted\" or something like that. Just think about that.

My opinion(as if someone cares): Swearing is something I ignore, It bothers me not. But you shouldn\'t swear too much. Some people at school may report this site to Bess(cursed dog!) and thats the end of Interordi for me.

I swear from time to time. So I tend to overlook swearing, but if someone starts going into racial slang...then I\'ll blow a fuse.

In all technicality, One or two swears on the internet are not going to corrupt children at all compared to going to a public school in southern states. God. Or listening to your father and mother arguing at night. (no offense to anyone in question):zzz:

Except for that last post. This thread is the most vulgar one even on this board, so let\'s just assume no one like swearing and lock this ****ing thread! oops.

I don\'t care about swearing. It\'s just words. They only have power if the offended person lets them have the power.

Man, it\'s not just a little anymore. I\'ve been trying to discretely point it out, but everyone is using it nowadays, newbs, veterans, even mods! A lot of it is because we are all just getting recklessly angry. I\'ve heard s*** thrown around everywhere. Ther\'e been some f***s, especially in the case of \"f*** you\"s. I\'m not just talking about Kiryu and the like, many of the vets are more careless than him! Shadowfire spelled out d**k quoting Kiryu even though Kiryu asteriked some of it. Honestly, the board has gotten sloppy in enfrocing proper language. I\'ve thought about leaving (don\'t mean that as a threat, most wouldn\'t care anyways:D; ) moreso for the reckless cursing then the noobs!

I just wanted to convey that almost nobody is exempt from this criticism... Many of our top veterans are swearing horribly in there pursuit of Kiryu...

I agree, however, that it only has an effect if the third party person lets it.

To my (considerably narrow) mind, there are only a few reasons to be \"offended\".

1. You are directly on the receiving end of an insult.

2. You don\'t realise that the insult was not aimed at you.

I say insult, but it could be any insult.

The following are closer the mark, but I don\'t think they are \"offending\" as such. I think thay are more \"concern for other people and/or yourself\"

1. You are concerned for the person on the receiving end.

2. You are worried of the effect the language can have on other people.

3. You follow the rules lay down by your parents and/or other people and disapprove of swearing being used here, also.

One question, really: take \"shit\". What is is about the word that makes it bad? It seems quite a normal word when it comes to it.

Clearly most everyone sees nothing wrong; I admit, it doesn\'t make me gasp and it\'s nothing new to me. I\'m just saying that this is a board that supposedly is against the use of such language and there are many children much younger than me, I\'m sure...or at least a little younger... Though, as you may remember me saying, I\'m against swearing altogether. I don\'t even see why those 18+ should use it.

Actually, \"crap\" is another swear word.

hmmm I think I\'ve seen somewhere on the boards (several times) that this was labeled a Family Board (can\'t seem to find it on the Rules and Guidelines :conf: ). Which means \"there may be kiddies about\" that also use these boards so swearing should be kept to a minimum :conf:

Well, the rul literally says try not to. It\'s nothing strong, just keep adult content to a minimum (eg, swearing, I guess)

I think cursing is man\'s most vulgar use of langauge yet created. I really hate curse words. I say none and wish others would do the same.

I\'m so used to swearing I guess that I don\'t really mind it. I swear sometimes, but try to keep it to a bare minimum. Like, in the fics I write, I try to keep the swears mild.. example..
