Easy: many Japanese animes that people want to see are violent and explicit and junk. Therefore, it\'s only natural that they come on late at night.

As for is it bad for you, no. Of course not. There are American cartoons that are easily just as explicit. And certainly not all animes are bad for you.

Still, hentai and junk is still bad news.

Or are we only wishing we were in Japan?:P

Wait, what? I\'m confused.

I\'m for anime. Most anime is good. However, many animes are put on late at night because they are more explicit. Little kids should not watch them, but they\'re not bad shows. Hentai, however, I am against. Hentai is bad, and furthermore, is not found on cable telivision.

If you order a hentai channel and let your children watch it, you\'re doing something wrong. That is bad for kids. And for adults.:P

So you\'re saying kids shouldn\'t watch Pokemon, Digimon, Hamtaro, or Hello Kitty? These are all anime (yes, Hello Kitty is an anime. Don\'t ask me how I know. I can\'t remember). There are a lot of anime are made for kids.

Of course, I know not all anime are for kids. Some need to be kept out of their sight and reach. Most anime shown late at night are this kind. However, some aren\'t. Inuyasha isn\'t that bad, but it\'s on pretty late.

I love anime to the highest peak. But some I wont watch cause I think its to wierd.Hentai is ok to a certain limit. But little kids ages 10- shouldnt be watching it.

I mean heck,as soon as this season of Yugioh Seal of Oricoulcos(however its spelt)is over,it wont be on KidsWB anymore. They plan to take it off the air,but Cartoon Network doesnt want to.But they will anyways.

Pokemon will still be on,which I\'m still trying to figure out why.*thinks of a commercial seen recently*Oh yeah, they got a new movie coming out.It deals with Ruby/Sapphire versions and Advance.

Digimon wont be stopped at any cost.Apparently it doesnt contain what Yugioh contains.Which I can see where that is coming from, but its not fully true.We see monsters 24/7 that they fight/use to protect a world. And like Yugioh doesnt? Please,Digimon has more action than Yugioh does.

Hamtaro is to much of a kids film.Nothing bad really happens. No death,no destruction of peoples souls, nothing gettin taking over,etc...And it contains hamsters that are nice,cute,cuddly,etc.....(Gag).So parents will allow it.

DB/DBZ/GT have more deaths, blood, and mind controling stuff than any of those that were listed above in this post. And yet kids are still able to watch it.Thats just to pathetic on the parents part. Its supposed to be their job to tell their kids not to watch shows like this.

YuYuHakusho is basically the same way,but with demons added to it.And kids still are able to watch it.Again, pathetic on the parents part if their kids watch it

Rurouni Kenshin deals with a Swordsman who is formally known as \"Hitokori Battousi\"(Legendary Manslayer) who has slaughtered more than hundreds of people easily. But since hes become a softie but still has major butt kicking techniques, kids still watch it with all the violence it has.I know its cool and all,but its teaching kids that its ok to fight and not obey the law.Something like this should never be taught to little ones.I know they go to school, but it still wont stop them from doing anything wrong. So once again, parents are not doing their job as parents like they are supposed to.Unles they want their kid to turn bad, then thats a different story and their own problem later on....

This is all I got to say for now.If I think of more you\'ll be the first to hear about it.

yeah, probably not a good idea for little kids to be watching Kenshin, DragonBall, or Yu-Yu Hakusho. Though they have some anime to call their own.

And NO amount of hentai is fine. It\'s anime porn, you know?

Breif nudity or junk is fine, but I can\'t commend any hentai.

But anime isn\'t all that bad. For some kids, yea, but for others who now it is just for entertainment, it is really cool. I say anime should stay around, no matter what time it is on. :D

Is anime bad for you? Only if other medias have strong influences over you that you lose your grip on reality. Is anime bad for kids? Not necessarily, it depends on the title.

Kids however, are bad for anime. As a fan of the media, I believe that anime is hurt by the general North American concept that animation = kids. However, I don\'t think kids alone are to blame. Personally, I\'m not really a fan of any anime series really being on television, simply because it removes all the aspects of it that can be removed which are foreign. The more mainstream anime because in North America, the more Americanized it gets. Which I feel is a bad thing.

Hello Kitty is obviously an anime. One can deduct this simply from the animation, I don\'t mean art style, but the animation itself. Japanese animation flows differently than American.

I really don\'t know what to say about the series you listed and whether kids should be watching them. It\'s true that those series would be almost impossible to market towards any other age group; however, to market anything foreign to kids you have to remove any foreign aspects of it that they will not get. Again, I believe Americanizing products just so people in on this continent can enjoy foreign media is wrong. The integrity of mentioned media suffers when this occurs, but, I guess that doesn\'t matter. People just care about tyring to bring over the next big thing for the $$.

Dragonball is harmless. In no way is the series a bloodbath. It\'s true that there\'s alot of fighting in the series, but the series was originally meant to be comedy mixed with kung fu. Kung fu isn\'t going to warp a child\'s mind. Dragonball wasn\'t made strictly for adults.

Kids watching shows that include fighting isn\'t going to make them \"bad.\" You can\'t shield a child from everything that exists in the world hoping that it\'ll make them turn out better. I don\'t understand why people are being so uptight over what kids watch these days. While some kids might be influenced by anime, cartoons, whatever.. it\'s not like that\'s the case for everyone. A little bit of violence set in a fantasy world isn\'t going to warp anyone\'s mind who wouldn\'t be otheriwse warped by something else.

I think I see what you\'re saying... if people weren\'t complaining about anime being a bad influence with violence, they\'d probably be complaining about the PPG (that episode where they beat up Rainbow the Clown always struck me as ridiculous... but that\'s a story for another time)... honestly, the \"glorified violence\" vibes people seem to get from anime doesn\'t make any sense to me. And there are other things much more likely to warp kids minds on TV than cartoons.

People just blow things out of proportion. It\'s like that little Timmy and Johhny are so innocent that if they do something wrong, it obviously wasn\'t their fault, but something else\'s because they were obviously influenced. I\'m not going to deny that some things might be influeced by cartoons, but people crack down on them too hard when something goes wrong. Did they ever think that their child did something stupid, oh, I don\'t know, maybe because kids do stupid things from time to time?

Blaming violence on anime or cartoons is just stupid. People are violent. Kids don\'t hit things or people because something showed them that they could, it\'s just something that everyone can figure out for themselves naturally.

I think that, up to a certain age, kids WILL do what \"that guy on tv\" does.. When I was little, I mimic-ed the Power Rangers. YES I ADMIT THAT, I AM ASHAMED. But I was young, and just following the \"insert color of Ranger you like here\" Ranger. I didn\'t kick the crap out of anyone, though.

I don\'t think kids should be sheltered from that either, though. So they watch DBZ..Goku tries to punch a villain three hundred times and misses every time. Billy tries this but accidently punches his little sister in the cheek. She cries, whines, awwww too bad. He didn\'t kill her or anything, tell him to be more careful when trying to portray Goku and he\'ll be fine.

But nooooo, in America it\'s \"Ohhhh ban that show it taught my son/daughter how to cause violence/light stuff on fire/shoot birds/microwave tinfoil/blah blah blah\" Watch and discipline your goddamned kids. Take the responsibility as a parent. If you had taught Billy some manners instead of letting him run around like the spawn of Satan, maybe he wouldn\'t have burned down your house after watching Beavis and Butt-Head.

Forgot to add..VIVA LA HENTAI! ;) It\'d be alot better if it all wasn\'t tentacle rape stuff..bleh.

Watching things on t.v. doesn\'t REALLY change the way you act does it? I mean yeah, it\'s proven that after a little kid watches a ninja movie they will want to act like a ninja. But how many of those kids... even after watching billions of ninja movies actually grow up to be masters of the stealth assassin art, eh, eh?

Anime isn\'t bad.... no... Maybe if you have a special condition but as a kid after watching an episode of Dragon Ball I never started fighting or anything. It actually just made me want to draw. Which in the end isn\'t that better for a kid\'s development?

I will admit, the Power Rangers did have some effect on me were I would jump around a little but never anything great. I mean, look at Hollow, the little bugger turned out just fine didn\'t he? I would think to some extent I did too. People always focus on that bad and never the good. Watching anime and other violent shows made me get off my ass and exercise, made me better at drawing, made me more creative, and gave me an imagination. So what if you’re a little hyper after a show. After the commercials are over, the next one will start. People just make things out to be worse than actually they are.

It\'s not that kids learn violent things for the television, kids at times are naturally violent. Charles Manson, you think he watches anime? People can pick things up from places other than t.v. Some people are naturally violent.

Seizures. It was more like a handful of kids who experienced that.

And I think it had to do with the strobe(sp?) light flashing on Pikachu.

Still have the original article about it somewhere!

The strobe light flashing was removed in the American version, if I remember correctly.

One had James dressed as a woman in a beauty contest. Yes, James with breasts in a bikini. He grabs his big fake boobs at one point, showing that his breasts will help him win the contest.

The second had Jessie and James with guns.

I also heard that all episodes with Jynx in them will no longer be shown..but I\'m not sure about that.

0_<~twitch, twitchidy... I can\'t believe you guys have ranted this much over this. There is no yes or no answer. I feel very neutralic on this title (bless law over chaos!) and feel that a balance of felt opinions is perfectly fine. My mother for example, hate anime because she feels like they portray women like whores. I look at her like 0_o? because all the shows I\'ve seen the girls are like >slap!smack!wham!< on all the guys!!

But there also has to be a ballance of fact, because fact is the influence of opinion. First of all, Japan has stricter rules that America. They have organized teachings and good (HEALTHY) food and uniforms and stuff. By the time their kids our 10, they probably COULD watch hentai maturely! (I personally think the human body is a digusting thing to view, but if anyone wants to see that, hey, let them eat cake;)) And I agree that different Anime should be created for all ages. Why should it be for \"just kids\" or \"just adults\"?

Anyway, What\'s the deal with canceling Digimon?!?! That was a seriously neat show! X3 Oh well, I guess I have out-grown my old favorites... though season three was a drawing inspiration.

I like Yu-Yu Hakusho, Kenshin, Inuyasha, and occationally Alchemist and GitS (Ghost in the Shell).......... Though I can NEVER remember to turn on the TUBE!!1!1!!:madgo::lol:

No, they don\'t. These were old west six-shooters as well, actual guns..not ray guns or giant city destroying guns.

It\'s alright to destroy a city and kick the living crap out of Pokemon, but it\'s not alright to show guns. Ah, america.
