So I was just drawing a picture on oekaki and something very unexpected happened....my firefox browser crashed...now I have been working on said picture for untold hours because I can not resume a picture on the oekaki board so I am forced to leave the window open. When all of a sudden my firefox browser decides it a good time to just shut down. I\'ve been running around my house for 20 min now and thinking about going out side with an AK47 and taking out the first person I see and blaming them for what just happened.

Dr Cossack I am begging you to add this function in with the next oekaki update you do. That way the police don\'t have to take me away after killing everyone in my neighborhood for my browser shutting down.

*blinks*...

You DO know that in order for the resume to work, you have to upload the animation first right? You probably do.

Even so, you have to upload it frequently.. Now I wouldn\'t have a problem with resume IF the animations were only viewable by the artist. They\'d sit in a queue of sorts, and only are usable and viewable by the person who drew them.

This would hopefully save some bandwidth..but I dunno. That\'s the main problem I have with Resume..the other problem is bumping pictures down. When someone posts an animation, it bumps down others\' art..and it\'s just an unfinished sketch. It\'s unfair, really.

Yes I know how it works but I have had the window open for 2 days so I could have uploaded it at somepoint lastnight or today and not had this problem

I understand that and if you could have a way that only the artist could view the drawing that would be ust great, like have an option to post it unfinished in your own little world or mark it as finished and let every one see it.

Yeah..the resume would be good, it just needs to be tweaked in order to uh, work.

I can\'t save animation on Oekaki Poteto, but I do use the \"retouch\" function..it\'s spiffy. If an eye looks off, I just redo it. Of course well, there\'s always Photoshop for that I guess. :P

Funny Hollow, I thought you were AGAINST the resume function. Didn\'t you say something about the oekaki board being made primarily for doodles and not extra detailed drawings?

A resume function would be nice, but yeah, the bandwidth is issue and the unfinished doodles pushing down the finished doodles.

Should be some kind of query or something.

...I\'m not good with programming, so I wouldn\'t know how that works. I think we\'re alright with what we have for now.

Though, it\'s getting annoying seeing newbies come to the board, draw something then post it only to discover that there is no resume feature. I cry everytime they do that.

Hehe... I must live under a rock, because the Doc\'s is the only Oekaki I\'ve ever been to. So I don\'t really understand what it is.

But the main concept, being able to save and get back to pictures... kinda bothers me. I dunno, it\'s just that I like seeing different pics. It annoys me to get on deviantart and look through where somebody posted:

\"Picture:blue pencil sketch\"
\"Picture:retouched\"
\"Picture:inked\"
And so forth.

I kinda agree with the idea that the Oekaki should be for quicker pics. But hey, it wouldn\'t kill me to have a resume feature.

I am against the resume function, Doc, for many reasons. The bandwidth, the pushing down pictures, the fact that you can just retouch stuff in Photoshop... If somehow all of that stuff could be fixed, I\'d also ask you to add the resume function to the board. But since I know it\'d cause far more hassle than it\'s worth, I\'m still not for it.

Since the programs that make oekakis have improved, I don\'t think that they\'re just for \"scribbles\" or quick pictures anymore. Since the programs have advanced, I think the pictures should too.

I can completely understand drawing 15 minute pictures on the first oekaki applet you had on the board. That thing was worse than MSPaint. But now..with multiple layers, and so many drawing tools, it\'s no excuse not to crank out something that looks decent.

My opinion, of course. o.o
