Ok here is my problem, no matter how hard I try I can not get my person into the boat I placed, i have the boat on push button to activate, and \"<>Ride Vehicl\" but it still won\'t let me in to sail it to the next island.

It would probably help if you explained which RPG Maker you\'re using. I believe there\'s 2 for the Playstation, one for the computer, and two more coming out soon, one for the PS2 and the other for the PC.

Soon, you shall be able to legally download and pay for RPG Maker XP for the PC. I think it\'s about 25$ and is to be released the 16th of September. There must be a billion ways to illegally download it though. I believe you said you don\'t have a PS2 earlier, right, so I probably don\'t need to describe RPG Maker 3...? Anyways, XP looks pretty good, and RPGMaker 3 looks much better than 1 (hard to use) and 2 (FUZZY GRAPHIX KEEL JOO).

Oh... I\'d forgotten about it. It looks better than RPG Maker 1 and 2 were, I\'ll certainly say that.

Meh, RPG Maker 2000 proved to be too much of a chore, and, after hours of painstakingly creating a mediocre game, completely killed it off my harddrive.

They\'re coming out with a new RPG maker? Thats good news. I still have my Playstation one.
Two words. Utter Crap.
How much longer is it, till the new one for PS2? This year perhaps? Or next year

well if I were you I would go for RPG maker 2003 I like it a lot and it has a heck of a lot of the same tools.

Anyway about your problem, you said you have it set to push key but do you have it on same level as hero or in front of hero?

It looks a lot better than the previous ones. Still, its difficulty to use will determine its value as an RPGMaker.

I\'ve been working with this prog for a while. Here is what you do..

-Create an event on the water next to a strip of land
-Insert \"Set Vehicle Position\" and set it to where the event is
-Insert \"Ride/Dismount Vehicle\"
-Create a switch, and have it turned on
-Create a new page, with that switch required, and the event graphics as nothing

You can get on the boat, move it, dock it, and it will be in the same place as you left it if you go to a different screen.
NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE EVENT ON THE CORRECT TERRAIN!
The Raft MUST be placed on a \"Shallow Water\" tile
A Ship MUST be placed on a \"Deep Water\" tile

Boat - Shallow water
Ship - Deep water

The boat is the raft.

And yes, this MUST be set to \"Same Level as Hero\"
